  • "Great little cottage for our weekend away."

10month old loved it! Nice size bedroom. 2 bathrooms one with shower for us and one with a bath for little one. Richard was welcoming and came to help when we had a problem even his dog came to say hello. He Set up the cot and high chair ready for us too. Chickens wondering around and ponies in the feild behind. Fishing lakes close too. We even nearly caught a fish. Not much signal in area and wifi dropped in and out alot unless you stood by front door, but wasn't really an issue only when we wanted to Google the local area. Bed was comfy and living room was nice to chill and watch tv in the evenings. Well presented cottage, kitchen had everything we needed. Would love to come back again. Thank you for a lovely little break away from home!

Having two bathrooms is a great addition for a small property. The kitchen had most things, but the cooking equipment could do with looking through as some was missing, but it didn't hinder our stay. The owner was lovely and easy to talk to, I would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay central to Norfolk.

  • "A lovely barn conversion on a farm."

Very clean. It has a washing/drying machine and a walk-in shower, neither is mentioned in the description, so it's a nice surprise. Good symmetrical wifi at least 20 plus Mbps. There is lots of wildlife to see – sitting outside having a nightcap, lots of bats flying around, a very rare sight these days. There are 2 horses, 2 ponies, and two pigs to see, plus the chickens, and one night we saw a young hedgehog.

  • "Very pleasant week in Norfolk."

Lovely quiet rural setting in farmyard with chickens and ponies. Great dog walks in the surrounding fields. There’s no mention in the description of the second bathroom with large shower unit. This was a welcome surprise and should be included in the description.

  • "This was our first time using sykes cottages, very impressed."

The property was well catered for, was nice to have somewhere with a fully stocked kitchen and some decent knives and cutlery. The beds were very comfy and the memory pillows for me were amazing, heating and hot water when you need it. It's a stable barn conversion so tall ceilings and beams which unfortunately are dusty and full of cob webbs, but did not impact our stay, but cleaning could be notched up a little bit in all areas. Chickens outside the bedroom window each morning was amusing and seeing the horses and pigs. Also fishing lakes are nice, although hubby didn't catch a single fish!! Would definitely recommend and return.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Stable View."

However, we felt that it might not be to everyone's taste. The accommodation was clean, modern and well equipped. While we knew the cottage was on a working farm, it is not clear that the property is part of a building which also houses chickens. We keep fowl ourselves so were unconcerned, but others might find such close proximity - the chickens were keen to join us in the outdoor area and one came into the kitchen- might be less appealing for some people, especially any with anxiety about birds. The owner was pleasant and friendly but there were no instructions of any kind in the cottage and he only appeared on the second day - again, we were fine, but some clients may want a bit more help. There are good opportunities to walk a dog on site and a large recreation/ sports ground opposite the entrance. Hingham is attractive and has a good shop, foodie pub and chippy. We enjoyed exploring the local area and would be happy to return.

A lovely secluded and quiet spot to just relax and chill. If you like fishing the 2 lakes hold some excellent carp and tench along with other smaller silver fish. Quietly nestling amidst the stunning Norfolk countryside, the ancient town of Hingham boasts two village greens, a pub serving good food, and a number of independent amenities including a variety of shops, along with an array of Georgian architecture not to be missed.
