  • "Our hosts Annette & Mick were very welcoming and extremely friendly."

The house was spotlessly clean, well equipped and with very comfy beds. Very peaceful sun trap patio overlooking gardens and fields. A & M provided us with useful tips for good places to visit and eat. The welcome pack was an unexpected pleasure. A & M could not do any more to make us thoroughly enjoy our stay. We look forward to coming back next year.

Thank you so much for your very kind thoughtful feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed your holiday at The Hermitage. You were perfect guests who left the cottage spotless. We look forward to welcoming you back again . Kindest regards Annette and Mick Property Owner

  • "This property seemed ideal but was very cold and dark inside."

The track that led to the property was overgrown and could have been trimmed back. There were no amenities close by. Overall very disappointing.

On receiving this feedback, unfortunately we feel we have to respond in a manner fitting your comments and from what you told Sykes. As stated clearly in the property description, our holiday let is a barn conversion in a rural location accessed by a country lane. This does not belong to us , however it is maintained regularly by the owners of the lane and was not overgrown on the day you came. As stated all amenities are a short drive (within 2 miles), with the local pub being a 5 minute walk away via 2 fields or 10 minutes walking via the road. Which we gather from Sykes was too far for you. You arrived on an unseasonably cooler , rainy dull day in July . I welcomed you to the property asking how things were for you, with your reply being it’s ok, thank you, however the gentleman ignored me. In the evening, I came round to check if you had settled , you told me everything was fine. However you then left very early Sunday morning (less than 24hrs from arrival), leaving the rental property completely un secured with the key code on display and the front door key being totally accessible overnight. At no time during your very short stay , did you make us or Sykes aware of your dissatisfaction. You did not attempt to bring to our attention that you found the property cold and dark, which is very confusing as there are modern electric heaters throughout the property , a full large basket of wood , with fire lighters and kindling for a 7KW wood burner ,none of which you used. There is also ample lighting which we feel fits in with the barn’s character . All rooms have lights and windows. We contacted Sykes on the Monday morning, who then rang you to find out if you were returning. Obviously this property did not suit your requirements and you chose to leave , without giving us a chance to amend any problems you felt you had. Property Owner

  • "Narrow lanes into the property over growing with foliage scraping the car."

Not good if the car is covered in dirt I removed most of it. This is out of the owner’s hands! No blame there! ! This is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed at. So peasant and quiet’ we wish them well. Mark @ Joan

Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad you found The Hermitage so inviting and welcoming. As you shared the country lane, leading to the property is narrow and does have hedgerows either side. These do not belong to us , so we have cannot remove them. However the owner does trim them on a regular basis. Property Owner

The owners, Annette and Mick, were so kind, helpful and friendly and even put a birthday card through the door when it was my birthday. Nothing was too much trouble! We loved the comfortable setting, the peace and quiet, the huge TV, the real fire, the massive conservatory, the BBQ facilities and the hens...who came onto the patio near our door on several mornings. It was lovely to watch the birds on the bird feeder too. The property was very close to our much loved Sheringham and there is plenty else nearby to do. We can't wait to come back!

It was perfect for us but may not suit everybody as there are no nearby shops; just one pub about 10 mins walk away. The owners Mick and Anna were very friendly and helpful. The property is quite spacious with a lovely conservatory and terrace to the side. The separate bath and shower was also very useful. Would love to return again some time.

  • "It was probably not as suitable for us as we first thought."

No fault of the owners just not our ideal rental property.

Thank you for the feedback. We are sorry The Hermitage was not as suitable as you first thought. When we initially met at the beginning of your stay, you informed us that you had not read the information correctly regarding the sleeping arrangements. However, you did make use of the daybed to accommodate your needs. It is a shame that you did not bring to our attention any concerns you experienced with cleanliness or facilities during your stay as we would have done our best to assist, had we have known. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of The Hermitage; it is thoroughly cleaned to a high standard prior to all guests arriving. We do hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise. Property Owner
