  • "Really lovely accommodation."

But honest review. My children were in bed before I thought to investigate where the bed linen was for the sofa bed. It turned out it was within the double bed (it didn’t look like a lift up storage bed so I wouldn’t have thought of looking there). A simple note in the kitchen would have saved us a night under a thin blanket. Two prominent clocks in the apartment both had no working batteries, which then made my mind start questioning if the clocks had no batteries did the smoke and fire alarm? The listing has a real fire which claims to have a starter pack (in reality this is a few sheets of newspaper, a lighter and some white fire lighter block). You need to take your own wood. It would be better to just state there is a wood burning stove at the property. It claims there is parking at the front of the property. A family arrived at the same time as us to stay in the top floor apartment with an estate car and then didn’t move it all week!

On arrival the flat was perfectly clean with a few nice extras like a pint of milk and cookies, also a welcome guide for important information (Doctors, vets, owners phone numbers)which we had to use as there were no sheets for pull out sofa, the sheets were promptly dropped off within a hour. The location of the flat was perfect, literally 2 mins from beach as well as all amenities you need for your stay,I will most definitely be staying again and will recommend to friends and family who would like a break in sunny hunny(bit windy when we were there but it's England after all.)5 stars for 9 sea breeze

Had to go to nearby supermarket for milk. There was no instructions on how to use the electric cooker (we have always used gas oven and hobs) it took a while to find that the child lock had been switched on. The welcome pack information requested that the black/green bins are put out on the correct evening. However the bin calendar was for 2023. We had to research the Internet to decide which bin to put out.

  • "Firstly, I'd like to say thank you for a brilliant stay."

The apartment was suitably located to all amenities in the town, and easily located. Upon first entrance, the apartment seemed clean and tidy and well equipped. Along with instructions on how to leave the property once we were to vacate, the owner had left some tea and coffee sachets and a carrot cake, which was a lovely touch. Thank you again. The beds were super comfy, as were the sofas, and we all around had a fairly comfortable stay. There were a couple of things that let the apartment down, though these are in no way criticisms, just points I'd like to make the owner aware of - Firstly, once we had a chance to look around the property, we noticed a rather large amount of mould in the living room, behind the dining table, and some in the main bedroom by the side of the dressing table. Secondly, the shower would not drain very well, and so you had to have small increment showers to prevent it from flooding. And finally, the lack of sound proofing in both the downstairs and upstairs apartment made for a very noisy stay, with it feeling like the people upstairs were in the apartment with us. If the property is still in the steps of being renovated, that could have been mentioned. But if not, I suggest clearing/repainting the mould, changing the shower drain trap to ensure proper drainage, and perhaps some carpeting in both apartments to ensure both parties aren't being hounded by each step. Overall a great stay though, and we hope to be back soon!

Many thanks for taking your time to feedback to us on our property. We glad you enjoyed your stay. Following your feedback we have cleared, cleaned and repainted the area of the wall that had a mould patch. Changed the shower drain trap and made changes to the draining to improve the flow of water. With thanks Amy Property Owner

I found the property very clean and well equipped and there was an information sheet regarding the property to assist with your stay. The private courtyard is ideal if you have dogs. The only thing that I would comment on was that the dinning table in the living room was quite small, a fold out table would have increased its size and also there were some marks above the skirting wall that need attending to. Other than this, I would definitely recommend.

Many thanks for taking the time to give us some feedback on our property. We glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you visit us again. Many thanks Amy Property Owner

  • "Overall 5 out of 10 ."

Is this property a working progress? If so why didnt it say ?. I wouldnt have stayed there any longer than 4 nights . And wouldnt stay again. Mould in some of the rooms . I have copd which was very alarming on arrival , we had to keep the windows open at all time . The windows are great if you are 7ft 6 to reach the top of them to open and close to let the light in or out. i left a note with the saucepans untensils on the cooker with a note saying how disgusting they were they was absolutely appauling all stained scratched marked dirty . The sofas in the lounge were as comfortable as sitting on carboard . The very tiny little so called dining table in the lounge has 2 chairs against the wall ,which i wrote clean me on the dust. Outside there was a outdoor table and cairs , they had not been cleaned wiped down for a long long time . Overall poorpoor .

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry you felt that the apartment wasn’t to your standard. Thank you for notifying us of the damp this has been rectified. Nearly all windows are at a standard height due to this being a ground floor apartment. The sofas are 2 years old and are DFS sofa’s mid range cost, we have never had complaints of uncomfortable sofas before. As the living area isn’t a big size we felt a small table would be sufficient as we found most of our guests dine out at nearby. Many thanks for taking your time to feedback to us. V. there is no where to dry your clothing. The cooker works backwards and starts at the highest number, which is actually pretty dangerous. There is a distinct lack of kitchen utensils for cooking with. There are 2 frying pans and one of them doesn’t seem to work on an induction hob. The bathroom isn’t finished, there is plain plasterboard by the sink and the toilet hasn’t got the caps on yet. Lack of bedding, everywhere else we have stayed provides extra blankets for when it’s cold. The heating never came on and we couldn’t work out how to get it on so we very very cold all week. You should have the heating on and a thermostat on the wall so people can just change the temperature accordingly. The TV doesnt hold signal. And finally, there should be a disclaimer about how noisy the house is from the traffic belting up the road at all hours, and that you can clearly hear the people from upstairs

Thank you for your feedback. Following your feedback we have purchased a clothes airer in case it’s raining and the clothes line can’t be used, the plasterboard has been painted and toilet caps fitted on the toilet. Each bed has a blanket on the end of it and also there is a blanket on each of the sofas in case it’s cold. I’m sorry you couldn’t get the heating to work you would have been more than welcome to phone us so we could have sorted this for you. The thermostat is a white box that can be found on the wall in the hallway and there is an up and down button to turn the temperature up and down. The property was clean and warm and obviously just been refurbished, so strong smell of paint. No teapot in kitchen, no instructions for the dishwasher and we were unable to use it as we could not get it to work. We could not use the wood burning stove as there was no fireguard. Several small steps which are a trip hazard. The Courtyard was a joke, lots of bits of rubble and generally very dirty, there is an old pallet blocking off the exit to the street so not safe for a dog or child. We actually left after 2 nights, informing the cleaning company we had left.

Thank you for your feedback. The parking is as shown on the photo at booking, yes there isn’t a drop curb but the pavement is only a slight rise. There is a street directly opposite Sea Breeze which in off peak season has parking without double yellows. I have been and checked the key safe and dishwasher and they both work fine, I’m sorry that you couldn’t get them to work, I have left instructions for the dishwasher just in case there is that problem again. A tea pot isn’t something that has been mentioned before but I can look into adding one and a wood burning stove doesn’t require a fire guard in order to use it. There are two very small step ups, one into the kitchen and one into the bathroom which is why on our information on booking Sykes has put we don’t recommend this property for anyone with mobility issues. I’m sorry you thought the courtyard was very dirty but I’m glad you found the property to be warm, clean and newly renovated. Thank you again Amy owner of Sea Breeze Property Owner
