  • "Lovely hut that we stayed in, as there were only 2 of us it was fine but I think it would be a bit tight for 5 people."

It's also great that u R 2mins from the zoo which was a great asset.

  • "Shepherds hut on a lovely, very well kept campsite."

Great bathroom/shower. Adequate cooking and dining facilities. Comfortable bed. Ideal for the dog. Storage limited, but that was to be expected. Local shop, micro brewery, fish & chips were very handy.

  • "The holiday was perfect."

The accommodation was very clean and comfy. There was plenty of places to walk the dog and it was so quite and relaxing. Going back later in the year. Shop and takeaway were just up on the main road.zoo was just next door. The staff were very nice and helpful.

  • "Lovely little home for the time we were there!"

Applewood campsite is a great place not too big and friendly staff and campers alike. We had great weather the whole time, Zoo literally next door and lovely pub and butchers just outside the entrance. My only complaint (not a real one) is that you have to all go to bed at the same time as it's all in the one space. Our puppy loved his stay there also and met lots of other doggies. We'll definitely be returning next summer.

  • "Wasn’t offered any refund by Sykes Cottages or Applewood Hall as a result of having to leave after one night due to catching covid."

On entrance there is big metal gates which you have to unlock and lock everytime you go in, electric gates would be much better. Nice site but wouldn’t return.

  • "Very relaxing and comfortable stay in our Shepherds Cabin."

This was very well equipped, and exceeded our expectations. The site was very quiet which we weren't expecting, the lady in reception was very helpful and informative. We made use of the fab local butchers for a BBQ, the take-away (very good) and the pub - great beer. Lovely area, which we would return to.

  • "My wife, myself and our dog stayed in one of the Shepherd huts at Applewood Countryside Park, Banham recently."

A very comfy and warm place to stay, as it was a very cold week, and we were particulary impressed with the walk in shower and the comfortable mattress. It had everything we needed from cutlery and kitchen ware to a bed and treats for our dog. A big thank you to Linda (park warden) and Karen (park manager) who were extremely friendly, helpful and informative about the cottage, local amenities and other questions we had. Considering we were located within the zoo, it was a very peaceful location. Would highly recommend!

  • "Fantastic place to stay, everything we needed."

Small and compact but we knew that and with three adults it was just fine. Everything was spotlessly clean and we had all we needed to make this a very enjoyable place to stay. Despite the weather which was pretty bad we still managed to walk over 40 miles and when we got back we could get everything dry and ready to go again the next day. Banham Zoo was right next door and well worth the visit. The only difficulty was with the WiFi while on site but as soon as we got to the car mobile data picked up so getting directions was never a problem and we always take maps anyway. If you were reliant on WiFi you might struggle, thankfully we're not.
