  • "Walkable distance to the nearest beach, lots of ground space and parking, lots of fresh air."

There were a lot of flies inside the property which was not nice as they do sit on poop, upon opening windows, we managed to get them out but how and why there were so many of them gathered, I have no idea, we had also found them sitting on utensils so we had to reclean things we used. I would say to have 2 pets in there would make it a small space. It would be good to have a cooker and washing machine facilities available. The shower room is small. I am used to my own space and it did feel tight for me personally. May be good for a couple of days rather than a whole week.

  • "Absolutely beautiful little place located in a lovely area, we really enjoyed it, close to our friends boat on the Broads, Just four things that need to be addressed."

In the toilet the hand Basin is much too small, (To much in the way) The water pressure going into the toilet system needs to be increased so that it fills up quicker, it takes about 12 minutes to fill up, in the kitchen the cold tap wants replacing with a tap that reaches over the bowl, not in the corner of the sink, and the same with the hot water Triton needs moving over so it reaches over the bowl, and no bread knife in the kitchen. But overall we did enjoy it, so don't sack the Builder.

  • "This is clean, comfortable cottage, but a misleading description regard."

The cooking facilities which says, you can cook meals in the compact kitchen. There isn't even a hob. I'm surprised that the owner, or indeed yourselves haven't rectified this as others have commented.it also makes it overpriced. Helen Keen

  • "Pear Tree is a lovely stay in a great location."

We stayed for a week and were very comfortable. The toilet / shower is very small and lack of oven blah blah but the value more than made up for that in our opinion. The side garden was perfect for our Springer Spaniel and any comments about bring overlooked etc are in my opinion highly exaggerated, the whole feel is one of a very homely stay. Would thoroughly recommend especially the value and would definitely like to stay again. The location is lovely and quiet, rural and very close to the beach, cafes and dog friendly pubs.

  • "I was very disappointed with the barn there wasn’t any windows to open apart from one small window near the bed."

When we arrived on Friday it smelt very musty and damp which I was surprised as the weather was very hot, even the cups and plates smelt musty, There were no comfy chairs or sun umbrella in the garden , so couldn’t really sit out, other than two metal ornate chairs. The farm house was almost on top of you !!! It was very misleading in your photos. One last concern , the bathroom was far too close to the kitchen. We were only there for 2 nights out of the 7 we paid for. I spoke to your site manager with my concerns and found her very unhelpful and rude, so will not be booking with Sykes cottages in the near future.

  • "The Barn was lovely and clean with a pint of milk in the fridge like previous reviews the lack of cooking facilities didn't put us off as we just bought our own 2 ring electric plug in mini hob + pans, although I did feel like I was going back in time drinking from plastic wine glass but other than that the kitchen was basic but ok."

The bathroom was very small and cramped that if one of you came out of the shower whilst the other was using the sink you did find that you had to go out of the bathroom door to allow the other one to move nearer to the toilet to dry them self's due to the lack of elbow room outside the shower cubicle. The fact that the owners were so close and it wasn't mentioned or shown in the pictures or the information from Skyes I do feel this should have been mentioned as it is a consideration for some people when looking at properties to stray in. The Barn is situated in a lovely area of Norfolk but the Barn itself isn't very big even though the garden is which you will share with the owners and their dogs obviously depending if they are in or not.

  • "The holiday cottage was small and compact."

It was ok for a few days stay, but the week felt too long without access to cooking facilities. The local pub is always full so need to book in advance! If you like your stay quiet and isolated this is not the place for you. The cottage is situated outside the owners house and opens out onto their back garden and felt too close for our liking! The garden is lovely but not enclosed which was ok for our dogs but not for lively inquisitive dogs. We felt it could have done with some more comfort touch’s such as deck chairs for the garden and some oil diffusers to take the damp smell away.

Thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate you taking the time to submit this We are not aware of any damp smell and have not had this feedback from any previous customers. We have checked and the only thing we can put this down to is after periods of heavy rain, the accommodation will need ventilating. We were not present at the property during your stay so the garden was for your sole use We don't advertise the garden as enclosed and even if we did, this would not guarantee pet and child safety. When the gate is closed, the garden is fully enclosed Once again, thank you for your comments Please let us know if you have any further questions regarding this Property Owner

  • "I loved my stay and was very happy with the limited cooking facilities as had planned around it and use a gas bbq at home in the summer."

It may put people off though with no cooker? Better microwaveable cookware would be useful, I had bought my own. The peace and tranquility suited me and my dog perfectly. Welcome milk and biscuits were a very nice touch.

  • "A lovely, peaceful corner of Norfolk."

Within easy reach of great beaches by walking or car. Handy for the Broads. Very good pub a few minutes stroll away. Pear Tree Barn was cosy, with a comfortable bed and a large, tranquil garden. A sympathetic, modern adaptation of a wonderful old farm building. Elegant touches included pretty antique furniture and local pictures. We had a very relaxing week.

  • "Absolutely fabulous stay for a couple and their dogs."

Very clean and the garden was huge, perfect for our dogs to play. The only problem was that we were relying on eating at the pub which stated on the website was .3 miles away but unfortunately it was closed until 1st July. Would have been good if Sykes had made a temporary amendment to the site to state that the pub was closed. Saying that, we will definitely come back as thoroughly enjoyed our stay, close to many dog friendly beaches and a beautiful quiet setting.
