  • "Lovely chalet and area with the beach only a short walk a comfortable and quiet stay."

The chalet doors and outside seating are quite close together and when we were staying the chalet next to us spent alot time outside smoking with the smell and smoke meaning we had to shut the windows and doors.

Thank you for your feedback. Just to be aware, guests are very welcome to move furniture onto the grass area if more space is needed, although when the grass is being cut, furniture might need to be moved. It’s very unusual for any smokers to be in the property next door - you may have just been unfortunate. Hopefully you will visit us again… Property Owner

Can say a big thank you to Jill for making our holiday go perfectly, the chalet is in such a beautiful and well kept area with loads of space for children and dog walkers to enjoy, the beautiful sandy beach is just a 5 minute walk away and we spent many a evening strolling along it, the chalet is compact but was big enough for us, a family of four and with the sofa bed provided more than enough sleeping space, the chalet was spotless and had everything we needed and the new bathroom is beautiful, if you want a peaceful and restful place to stay then look no further than chalet 150 it’s in such a beautiful place, we will be looking at booking again in the future

Thank you for kind comments- I’m really pleased you enjoyed your stay. Please do visit again… Property Owner

  • "Had a really comfortable stay at the chalet."

It is petite but has everything you need, the bathroom has been done to a high standard and the shower is just perfect, although could do with a blind on the window. Would say also that the hot water in the kitchen does get extremely hot so not sure if you want to put a sticker on the wall as a warning. Loved the location, short distance to a lovely quiet beach that does have a little cafe etc at one end which served doggy ice cream which was well received. Would certainly stay again as it was very peaceful with some lovely walks for humans and pooches...... Thank you

Thank you for your comments. Glad you enjoyed your stay…the bathroom is certainly a great asset. As mentioned, the bathroom window doesn’t have a blind as the glass fitted is privacy glass. It would be lovely if you visited again. Property Owner

  • "We've used Sykes lots of times over the yrs and always felt that the properties were visited by the Team, obviously not anymore!"

We had several issues at the property which we dealt with by contacting the owners directly, when we go on holiday we don't want to be spending time dealing with a microwave that was unsafe, a towel rail that wouldn't heat. The Chalet also had lots of ants in the lounge and kitchen area which we didn't mention to the owners as by the time we had sorted out the towel rail issue I felt they were loosing interest. The microwave issue wasn't resolved as I was not prepared to wait in for a delivery as we were supposed to be on HOLIDAY!

Thank you for your feedback, although we are clearly disappointed that you had complications arise during your stay at our chalet. We welcome all feedback and look to address concerns if and when issues arise. I completely agree that it is disappointing that the microwave failed during your stay, as this was only PAT tested at the beginning of April this year. As you are aware, I did offer to organize a replacement during your stay, but you advised, which I understand, that you did not want a delivery. I did follow up after a couple of days to confirm that you were still happy with that decision and that you didn’t want me to deliver a replacement. Likewise the towel rail is a recent upgrade to the bathroom and I can only assume the control unit may not have retained its settings, potentially following a power cut. I was led to believe that this had been resolved during your stay. I have contacted the electrical installer to advise me further and will address any issues raised. Thank you for highlighting the issue with the ants - this certainly has never been a problem at the chalet before and I welcome the opportunity to resolve this ahead of our next guests. My thoughts are season is coming to a end and are trying to get more money there was nothing left damaged or lost.

I am glad that you enjoyed your stay as the chalet is located in a lovely area. The housekeeper attempted repeatedly to clean the bedding, but unfortunately the markings left could not be removed and the bedding had to be replaced. Property Owner

  • "Had an amazing break away at the chalet 150 at winterton on sea (couple with a dog)."

Comfy bed and quiet and peaceful location with spacious lounge area/dining. Loved the patio doors on front and back for dining in the morning sun at breakfast time or having a drink or two on the back in the evening sun. Everything you need is in the chalet. 10 min coastal walk to beach and 10 minute walk to local village. Local village of Winterton really lovely and calm and chilled out but with enough going in if you want something eg shop, chip shop, pub and tea room. Chip shop was so yummy but worth noting it’s cooked fresh to order so you may have a little wait but you can have a nice walk round the church or gardens or walk to the beach and back to build up an appetite. Poppy’s tearoom lovely garden round the back highly recommend for breakfast/brunch or tea and cake, also dog friendly. Fisherman’s arms pub lovely too beer garden and really modern inside nice food and dog friendly. 20 min walk from chalet to local town of Hemsby recommend a trip to the Lacton arms pub nice food and nice beer garden and dog friendly. Hemsby worth a visit for doughnuts and ice creams or pizza from pizza&kebab at the top of town also there’s a nice beach boutique store sells lovely clothes but definitely preferred winterton on sea beach and chalet site as it’s very beautiful, peaceful, idyllic and best of all very relaxing. Also the local residents here at the chalets are super friendly and welcoming. Our dog made lots of dog friends too! He loved it, he was so cosy in the chalet as well. He especially loved the beach and coastal walks and playing in the sun and the long stretch of grass lawn with sea views near the chalets but the beach definitely his favourite just amazing winterton on sea beach as it stretches out for miles and miles and it’s so peaceful. The sand is lovely and soft and warm and the sea has beautiful waves, the dunes are great too, we were lucky enough to see a seal in the sea one of the days too. We enjoyed a 10 min drive from the chalet to a local village called Horsey, had an amazing breakfast at Poppylands tea room world war 2 inspired amazing place really gorgeous and lovely food and cake and cute gift shop. Also we were so thrilled to walk to horsey gap beach and got to see loads of seals swimming in the sea there! Even a little pup on the shore! Well worth a visit, only a short walk from tea rooms. 7 mile drive to Great Yarmouth from the chalet - perfect for families who want a Blackpool style/type holiday or an enjoyable place for people like us who just wanted a nice mooch round the shops and a walk and food near the beach. Great Yarmouth also has a big Tesco if you need supplies, we got some bbq food one night and had it on winterton beach which was awesome! ‘The lion pub’ on the way to Horsey is well worth a visit as well lovely meal and really lovely couple who own it, made a real fuss of our dog, dog biscuits and everything. I cannot recommend this place enough, it’s just perfect! The location is brilliant, you don’t need to use your car at all really unless you want to visit other places, but the chalet is perfect for what you need and the beach and everything is just gorgeous! Worth noting that the chalet isn’t detached but still a quiet location not overlooked from the front but is more communal on the back. I would highly recommend this hidden gem! Thank you for an amazing stay Jill. Kira & Jack & Henry the dog x

  • "The lodge had a brilliant location at the start of the path to Winterton beach - this is stunning."

The location is also very close to the Seals at Honing and the boat hire at the Broads/Wroxham. We really enjoyed our long weekend here. Thank you The listing is entirely accurate but unfortunately for me, I had assumed a 4ft double bed was “normal” but it’s essentially a large single.

Thank you for your feedback and helpful comments; I am delighted you enjoyed your stay at the beautiful Norfolk coast and the Broads area. I understand your comments around the small double - this is our holiday home by the sea and as our own children have grown - it us something we are looking to review ahead of guests visiting in 2022. I do hope you will consider visiting again. Update… Thank you again for your feedback, as of the 2022 holiday season, we have now updated the sleeping arrangements and welcome guests to a regular double bed in the main bedroom and a full size bunk bed set in the second bedroom… we hope this will better suit all our guests … Property Owner

  • "The property was very clean and had all we needed except that the double bed was only 4 foot wide."

There are four bunk beds in the second bedroom, two of the bunk beds are adult size and two smaller. We are retired and my husband was unable to get himself low enough for a bottom bunk bed and unable to climb on to a top one. I was able to get into the bottom bunk bed but normally I sleep on three pillows which I was unable to do on the bunk bed because there was not enough head room. Otherwise the property was suitable for all age groups. I suggest a re think of sleeping arrangements. The site is well maintained, quiet and everything one could want and the owners have everything else well thought out. We would return if a wider double bed was included. Thank you for letting us stay at 150.

Thank you for your feedback and comments; I am glad you enjoyed your stay despite the small double bed. As you kindly noted, this is as listed, but is something that we are looking to reconsider ahead of guests visiting next year. I do hope that you will consider returning to the beautiful Norfolk coast and will consider staying with us again Property Owner

  • "It was a very pleasant location, however the chalet was a lot smaller than I was led to believe by the description given."

The bedroom was so tiny that only a very small 'double' bed fitted the space. The bed was really not much bigger than a single and definitely not big enough for two large-ish people. The property was rather grubby in some areas - cobwebs and spiders in corners and a bit shabby generally.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry the chalet didn't meet your expectations, but we make every attempt to ensure that the photographs and description are accurate and the chalet is as welcoming as possible for our guests. With the fantastic location, being so close to the sea, the nature reserve and nature in general, this does on occasion, lead to insects and spiders looking to re-home, but we are however, appreciative of your comments. • "It would have helped to have had a map of the site ."

We took a while to find 150 and it was difficult to get into the key safe as it is situated on the side of the post next to a pile of chairs under covers, and facing the sun! Then we had a problem with the key itself later on. However, the caretaker was very helpful and contacted a local locksmith who came and oiled it and next day fixed a new barrel in the lock (just ready for the next intake). Many of the drawers and under the bunk beds were filled with loads of stuff. Apart from that the chalet was clean and tidy and very comfortable beds. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay

Thank you for your feedback and your patience with the key while we arranged for a replacement lock to be fitted. This was very much appreciated. Whilst the directions to the chalet are comprehensive, your suggestion regarding the map is certainly helpful and one that I will look to include on our Sykes listing. The chalet is our holiday home by the sea and we do need to store some supplies, out of the way, under the bunk beds, but the items in the drawers have been specifically left as games and books for all to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming a range of guests of varying ages to the chalet. I do hope that you will consider returning to the beautiful Norfolk coast and will consider staying with us again Property Owner
