The house was welcoming with tea and biscuits on arrival. Very comfortable and cosy with everything to hand. Pub and shop just down the road. Bob and Heather very friendly and eager to ensure we had everything we needed. Parking right next to property was a great advantage.

You cannot get any hot water in the basin it is hardly a triccle It takes several minutes to try and get the temperature in the shower so you can use it its either burning hot or freezing cold We always take slippers to wear so as not to dirty the floors but they came home with us filthy the kitchen floor was so dirty and sticky it was unbelievable We would not recommend this properly

The bathroom was totally refurbished last winter. We have had no previous problems and I am surprised you did not raise these water control problems with us. As I’m sure could have easily resolved any issues. The water is set to a maximum level and has over temperature correction so cannot be burning hot there is also a built in safety temperature regulator in the shower itself. We cannot understand how the kitchen floor would have been in that state on your arrival since all floors were both vacuumed and moped that morning. What you describe is how you actually left it. Perhaps something was spilt.soon after arrival. Again cannot believe if you found the floor like this on arrival that you would not raise it with us. We would not recommend these guests. Although we didn’t do any cooking whilst we were there and chose to eat out it was obviously well equipped for those who wanted to self cater. A very well presented and clean apartment it was perfect for us. This part of Norfolk is has nice beaches and scenery and is great for walking . The weather was good for the majority of the week so all good.

  • "The property is a lovely haven and a nice place to relax and unwind whilst been in a good location to visit the areas attractions."

I like to leave the properties I visit clean and tidy and whilst the owner provided a vacuum cleaner for use the floors were laminate throughout and tiled in the kitchen I think a soft brush would be useful to use (there was a dustpan and brush) not really suitable for doing a large area, and some kind of o mop so you could clean the kitchen floor. I also found the shower a little confusing to use, there are instructions in the booklet in the accommodation for the microwave it would be good if there were some for the shower, also a warning that the hot water gets very hot and if you are not careful you could scold yourself. These are not complaints of any nature just observations on my part.

For some reason we struggled to get access to Wifi but Bob was on the case and put a booster in the kitchen for us, job done! Being just outside Cromer suited us and we used the bus to go into the town. Everything you need in the property is provided, and Heather and Bob perfect hosts. Hopefully we will go back to beautiful Norfolk and we would not think twice about staying at Highfield again.

Even the patio was swept every morning to contend with leaf brought down by the quite fierce wind. All information was clearly set out in accordance with present guidelines. For example, brochures were left for us re: places to visit, to be disposed of after each visitor. There was plenty of information before we arrived. This is our second visit and we would happily go again.

Comfortable in the cottage, the best thing for me was the shower, really liked it. The bed was ok.
