  • "A beautiful home, set in idyllic surroundings and ideal for our family of 8."

A couple of small things that could improve the property: What appeared to have been a water seepage in the front lounge has left stains on the ceiling and possibly ruined the curtains as there were fittings for them but none in situ. The front wall in the kitchen appears to suffer from damp because paint was flaking on it. Front bedroom on first floor was not cleaned very well as there were numerous flies (ladybirds and others) which we cleaned up on our arrival. All small points but they detract from a great property

  • "The house and gardens are beautiful."

The setting was perfect, very relaxing. As a family, we meet on an annual basis, this year we celebrated an early Christmas. Sykes, however, we're not helpful when I needed to contact the owner prior to our arrival date. They refused to make that contact on my behalf.

  • "Positives Fabulous property!"

Large comfy beds, clean, enough wardrobe space, books, 2 lounges, access to the river Waveney, large garden and outdoor seating, well equipped kitchen and dining room. Not so positive A large number of flies in all rooms - to be expected by a river, Not enough mugs or glass tumblers for a family of 8 adults compared to the vast amount of plates and bowls All kitchen cupboards full of crockery leaving no room for storing food so it had to be left out on the work surfaces. Limited local information for places to visit or recommendations. The first floor bathroom would benefit from the shower unit being on the wall to allow option of a shower. Our family combination meant that our elderly parents couldn’t use the bedroom with the en-suite due to mobility issues and navigating the stairs would have been risky without a handrail so they used the family bathroom. However this meant they struggled to shower and get in and out of the bath. A dripping tap in the sink in their room and the tap unit in their bathroom was also very loose and wobbly Otherwise an amazing property and we had the best family holiday. Thankyou

Beautifully appointed and comfortable. Great chance to experience living in a period country house. Just wish the weather had been kinder so we could enjoy the gardens.

Beautiful private grounds & the children loved the trampoline! The house is spacious & even tho some family members were unable to come at short notice, it would have accommodated all of us. We all really enjoyed our stay & than you for the welcome pack.

  • "Thank you for a wonderful stay in your lovely house."

We adored everything about it. We saw swans and a heron in the river through the garden and heard an owl in the early hours. Everything in the house is so cosy and comfortable. Great beds, lovely showers and wonderful convivial rooms to gather in. We ate in every evening. The dining table is fabulous. The sitting room is lovely. Bressingham Museum and Gardens were a great day out (make sure you see both the gardens- beautiful). We will be back!
