  • "The house was great."

Couple of ideas for future guests: Metal brush to clean bbq with BBQ tongs Fan for top floor rooms as they get hot and one doesn’t have an opening window Otherwise we loved the homely feel, space and lush garden.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay over Christmas."

The house was very spacious and homely, just right for our three generations. The bedrooms were all spacious with very comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped, apart from scales and a mixer which my wife needed to do the Christmas baking but we soon sorted that. The owner, Pam was on hand to sort out any minor issues we had, which was very reassuring. The grandchildren loved the library because it was quiet, with lots of books to learn thing! They were sad to leave.

Just a stone’s throw from the A47, located in central Norfolk, is the popular market town of Dereham (known locally as East Dereham) with a heritage dating back to Saxon times. Today Dereham enjoys excellent local amenities, which include Bishop Bonner’s Cottage Museum, the magnificent 13th-century church of St Nicholas, along with a wide selection of high street shops. On the edge of Dereham you can enjoy a journey on East Anglia’s longest heritage railway - the Mid Norfolk Railway, with steam and diesel trains to choose from. Just outside Dereham you can step back in time with a visit to Gressenhall Rural Life Museum and discover what traditional country life was like in Norfolk. At North Elmham, visit the ruins of a Saxon cathedral and on the outskirts of Fakenham, visit Pensthorpe, a bird lover's paradise and host of BBC Springwatch. Within easy travelling distance from Dereham you can explore Thetford Forest, the village of Sandringham which boasts Sandringham House, the cathedral city of Norwich and the historic maritime town of King’s Lynn. Spend a day or two visiting Norfolk’s wonderful varied coastline, offering both sandy and shingle beaches, traditional seaside towns with entertainment, quaint coastal villages with pretty flint cottages and fishing harbours dotted with sailing boats.
