The bungalow itself does need a bit freshening up the conservatory back door needs looking at, and I would imagine in the winter the conservatory is very inviting to sit in. In the summer it can get too hot to sit in even at night and with it being built on top of the property drainage it can kick up a little. However, I would definetely book the property again. It well situated with the main coast road minutes away and places easy to get to. The village has a lovely village shop and a couple of pubs We found the Memorial Ground a great walk early morning for the dogs and met some of the friendly locals.

Hence why we booked again. However, it didn't seem as clean last year. The carpets were very stained. I went to get a fan out of the wardrobe in the main bedroom and the fan was shattered. There were no antibacterial sprays. Maybe some wipes in the future? We were desperate for a cup of tea when we arrived so maybe a few tea-bags and some milk? I am not being critical. The girls had a lovely time in the garden. Thank you.

Downside we was there, Christmas week would of been nice to have a Christmas tree up. The welcome pack was a bottle of wine. This would of been better with some milk, biscuit etc. There was also 1 toilet roll, no logs for the fire! So after driving for 4 hours had to go out shopping its was horrendous with it been Christmas weekend. Not what we wanted to do! We did find it quite dusty and when stripped the double duvet had blood stains on duvet which was quite upsetting having spent over £1000 for the week. Hopefully the standards will be better for the New Year.

Back bedroom cold and damp. Bedding was old and did in fact smell and did not appear ‘freshly laundered’. The quilt covers and pillows in this bedroom were damp, probably due to the cold. Front bedroom much better with clean covers and pillow cases on. Kitchen facilities good. Lounge settee and cushions stained and covered in sand or sugar on arrival! The bungalow was lovely and well situated for the whole of North Norfolk. The beach was a pleasant 10 minutes stroll, made even better with a pit stop for coffee and cake at the village shop/café . We found the Skylark to be spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The welcome wine was a nice touch too. I was relieved to find soap, detergent and toilet paper supplied. I consider these items essential but often find they are not provided. So that was a big plus. The accommodation was generally very clean and tidy. The garden was great. We greatly appreciated the gated driveway which allows safe loading and unloading of the dogs into the car. It was also big, sunny, private and quiet. A lovely spot to relax and enjoy an evening drink. We would definitely rebook as it was hard to fault in any way. The only thing that would improve it for me would be to have a smart TV or some device to enable access to i-player/catch up TV. But that was a tiny issue in an otherwise perfect break. • "Lovely week weather wise at glorious Skylark."

We throughly enjoy going to Skylark, our seventh time, but as much as we do enjoy it, its beginning to feel a bit tired now. Cleaniness not the usual standard, towels bit smelly and not the cleanest, loads of cobwebs everywhere, and shower drain full of hair. YUK. The bed linen is lovely but the bed itself is so hard, but this is only personal choice. Skylark is truly lovely to have a fabulous holiday at, and we shall return, but we feel maybe a redecoration throughout and new towels would spruce it up a bit. This is our personal feelings, and we know that you cannot please all the people all the time. We would not mind paying a little extra to complement these tweaks. We've stayed in loads of other holiday houses/cottages and Skylarks welcome pack is the worst!! The 'blue folder' has loads of information in it, but sadly most leaflets are years out of date, but thanks to the internet that is not such a issue. The welcome of a bottle of wine, albeit very nice, a pint of milk and a loaf would be so much more appreciated, for us at least. Whatever complaints we have, they are easily acheivable and we shall most definetely return to Skylark

Thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. Your feedback is important to us as it helps us to continually improve our standards. In terms of cleanliness, we too have not been overly pleased with our previous cleaning team. We have recently appointed a new cleaning team to carry out changeovers to a higher standard. Regarding the bed, we have not had any other complaints, however, if we find that there is a recurring issue with comfort, we will aim to make any improvements as quickly as we can. Though many of our guests enjoy the welcome pack we provide, we will absolutely take your comments into consideration. We trust that our new cleaning team will monitor the welcome pack and the information provided regularly, so that the issue of expired leaflets does not reoccur. Unfortunately, there has not been sufficient time in between bookings to carry out any larger-scale work such as decorating. We will be taking a week soon to carry out the work required, and will also arrange for a full set of new photographs to be taken to reflect all the improvements made. We would like to thank you once again for your comments and very much appreciate your regular custom. We really look forward to welcoming you again soon. Property Owner

The main bedroom has been updated somewhat also. The bed is not 'our bed' and a bit hard for us, but really not a complaint. Instead of a bottle of wine, which is really nice thank you, a pint of milk would be so much more of a 'welcome pack' as on arrival all you need is a cuppa. We are returning again in March '22 and will continue to do so for as long as we are able. Also the sink crockery drainer was spruced up with a liberal application of Jiff. Peaceful and we slept soundly all week. The dogs really enjoyed the lovely lawned garden but just one warning: it is meant to be dog proof but it wasn't Willow proof. Willow is 15 inches high and very agile. She went under the hedge on the left as you sit in the conservatory and managed to get over the 2 foot wire fence there into next door. As the fence belongs to next door I'm not sure what can be done. Would have been nice to have had a milk jug but I guess that is one of those things that has been broken and not yet replaced. Personally I prefer cups and saucers for tea but I appreciate that they are easily breakable. Welcome pack: usually at Sykes cottages this means milk and maybe biscuits and whilst a bottle of wine was very nice when we arrive after a long journey we want to unpack and have a cup of tea but we had to go shopping as there was no milk - perhaps this could be added in future? A single pint would do - just so that people can have a drink. All in all a lovely place to stay and we would certainly book it again.

Weybourne itself, however was nothing to write home about - limited paved/tracked areas for walking, few amenities and only one tiny local shop. The shingle beach at Weybourne was pretty rough, easily the worst beach in the area, however the coastal pathways gave excellent long vistas and was well used by paragliders and dog walkers (who just let their dogs lay eggs and leave them). Travel to local Sheringham, Cromer and Overstrand etc. (all within 20 minutes drive) for much better beaches, views and amenities. Don't forget to visit Wells-Next-The-Sea too, but don't buy any foodstufss in John's Rock Shop - it's all out of date! The bottle of wine welcoming us to the cottage was a lovely touch, but we all would have preferred a pint of milk instead; after a long journey all we wanted was a cuppa! Other cottages we've rented have had more welcoming "Welcome Packs" which included fruits, cereals, bread, butter, tea/coffee, milk and even treats for the dogs. I'd rather have paid an extra tenner and had these available than just a bottle of wine.

  • "Lovely location."

Heating was not on, and took a time to warm up,luckily we had the log burner in the sitting room, which we lit and soon had a good fire going. One of the single bed mattresses definitely needs changing, we could feel the springs in it. The one thing that did concern us was the fact that you could not lock the patio door (there were instructions on the side of the door saying "do not lock") however, in the conservatory the doors that led out into the garden were very hard to open and close, so it did not feel very secure. On a clear night the stars were amazing, so bright, which of course you do not see if you live in an area of light pollution, absolutely beautiful!!

It has a wonderful back garden (ideal for our 2 small dogs) and the owner's welcome bottle of wine was thoughtful. Because of the hazardous weather we had to cut our time here short by 2 days, so did not really get the chance to explore the local area properly - next time perhaps.

Very much appreciated. It was clean, tidy and cosy, so much so, that we did not need to use the log burner, which was a result. The garden was large and the dogs were quite happy to wander around as it was completely safe and secure. Well located, near a huge communal field and a little farther on to the sea and cliff tops. Unfortunately we did not manage to visit the local pub or cafe , which were very close. Everyone was very friendly and happy to chat.

  • "We had booked Skylark from Saturday 11th November but unfortunately could not go until the Monday."

When I phoned the owners to find the number of the key safe I foolishly told them that we would not arrive until Monday lunchtime. I say foolishly because the owners visited the bungalow at the weekend and switched off all but two heaters on the Sunday. As they are storage heaters when we arrived at 11:30 am with an outside temperature of 5 degrees we found a very cold bungalow. On phoning the owner I was told to switch the heaters on and that by Tuesday morning the bungalow would be warm again. Meanwhile we had a very good log burner in the sitting room and one free standing electric heater to move about between kitchen and two bedrooms. There was a booster to the sitting room heater. My annoyance was that the heating had been turned off on the Sunday afternoon knowing we were arriving by lunchtime the following day. It is unlikely to be a hot day in November. Seemed a bit tight-fisted. Once the heating was up to speed it was very warm and comfortable. Surprised that only ONE toilet roll was provided as we usually find 3/4. Owner said that when they left 4 they felt people were taking them away with them. I use 2 a week and live alone so I imagine a family of four could quite easily use 4 rolls - and they are not expensive. One other very small and fairly insignificant annoyance was the fact that in the kitchen were storage jars and the one labelled coffee had a solid lump of coffee in it so I guess no-one had looked in there for some time. I always take my own so it didn't actually matter. The bungalow is very comfortable and clean and well decorated in neutral tones that cannot jar the eye. The beds were very comfortable as was all of the furniture. The kitchen was well equipped - one of the few that have a pyrex measuring jug - many thanks. The garden was superb as it was genuinely fully enclosed and safe for the dog to play in. Being mainly lawn he had plenty of room to play as I expect young children would. Lovely, large and airy conservative - nice place for a coffee with the winter sunshine on it. Plenty of interesting places and beaches nearby and a variety of walks for the dog. We went to the Thursford Christmas Spectacular show on the Thursday afternoon and it truly is Spectacular. Well worth the money.

  • "As specified a love;y spacious ground floor holiday Bungalow."

Nicely appointed and very warm and very comfortable. Good value for money as everything needed was provided and a good location that suited us perfectly. The most important aspect for us was the permission for our three well behaved dogs and the secure large rear garden. The advantage of the multi fuel burner was taken up {in fact we used all of the kinder and the logs} could have done with a few more of both, however we bought some coal to make it work for longer. We would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Sykes Cottages and in particular "SKYLARK".

The location is great to visit all the lovely surrounding towns and villages including Sheringham which has everything you need and is only a five minute drive away! There are also a lot of great walks to do in the close vicinity without having to take your car anywhere. Weybourne beach being only a ten minute walk and a walk along the cliffs to Sheringham from the bungalow about 3.5 miles. Weybourne station is a ten minute walk up the road too to the Poppy Line steam trains. We would definitely recommend this property and would love to return.
