The only downside was that us 'oldies' found the distance from the car park to the front door challenging when loading and unloading the car.

  • "The property was very comfortable & had good facilities, it was in a very quiet & relaxing area."

So glad though I took extra toilet paper, kitchen roll & sharp knives. (I do this whenever we go away!) The cleanliness was good, although, there were lots of cobwebs & the beams & radiators were very dusty! It is not a wheelchair friendly property, not that we needed that, but the website looked as though it might have been, fortunately I took some moveable rails for the shower which worked well for two of us. I would visit again out of fly season, ‘cos they difficult to control, we left the spray for the next people. Something one has to put up with unfortunately. The area has a lot of various things to offer, be it beach, history, walking, etc.

  • "Our stay at Beechwood was enjoyable."

The cottage was comfortable and well equipped though a bit outdated. Everything you needed was there. The children’s slide platform had some loose planks which need repairing. It was a very large area for children to play in. It also had a locked gate which was a plus point from a safety point of view. The garden area outside the cottages was lovely & well maintained. I especially liked the added security of electronic gates to enter the site.

Thank you for your kind comments regarding your stay at Beechwood. We are pleased to hear that your stay was enjoyable and your children enjoyed playing in our play area. We have asked our maintenance man to visit to ensure that the slide platform is fixed. Property Owner

  • "We arrived at the cottage on Sunday late afternoon, which was warm."

There was a pint of milk in the fridge for that first cuppa ✔️ We explored the rooms, all nice and clean. Just a few cobwebs on those high beams. The pictures actually don't justify how big bedrooms 2 and 3 are. Towels were provided. However, a bath sheet would've been better for us tall, big people. Also, the height of some of the mirrors is a bit low for us 5ft 10 inches plus people. But that's just being picky. Furthermore, only one spare toliet roll was provided in the main bathroom. We were there for 5 nights. I don't know if the owner believed there was still more from the previous visitor's? Again, being picky. The ensuite to the main bedroom had a slight safety issue for me. An earth wire is coming up to the radiator through the laminate on the left side as you face it. Was unsure what that was about. But we had a young toddler with us, and she could have been curious about it. We all slept well. The 4 posted bed is a bit squeeky. A cot and a high chair were provided that we requested ✔️ The living room was comfortable, especially the armchair. Our daughter loved the book shelf, it even came with some jigsaws that she could try. Information book had detailed instructions about the appliances in the property. Not so much about places to eat, attractions and the nearest big supermarket. There were some leaflets about some attractions, but I believe a visitors book or another folder would be a great idea. Over-all, it was a lovely property to use as a base to explore Norfolk and visit family in Norwich.

Thank you for taking the time to write feedback, we rely on this to maintain the standard of our properties. First of all, I arranged for an electrician to come out to have a look at that earth wire and he has deemed it perfectly safe but has secured it and made it more visible. Towels are provided as stated on the website, we recommend that if guests would prefer bath sheets, they bring their own. We are glad that you were happy with the cleanliness, unfortunately in these rural areas cobwebs do show up within a matter of hours and are particularly difficult to get to on those high beams, our cleaning team do try their best to keep them at bay. In addition, we will certainly consider proving some more tourist information for guests in the future. Once again we thank you for your feedback and hope you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "I have marked comfort down for a specific reason."

Assuming you don't have a back problem then both the mattress and sofa are very comfortable. However, if like me, you do suffer from back issues then you will find there is insufficient support in either of them. Given that these are single storey units and advertise disability provision then the target market is likely to be elderly with ageing issues.. The very segment of the population that needs firmer support. This is meant to be constructive criticism for the owners who otherwise might find that repeat business is not as high as they anticipated.

Beechwood is larger than the pictures would have you think, as it goes back a long way. We were a family of 6 plus a baby and there was ample room. The kitchen/lounge layout was great, providing a good community feel during pre and post meal times, the watching TV. The master bedroom was very large, the second bedroom was large and the third was typical double size. It is a warm cottage due to its recent building standards. Access to the site and cottage was easy, although being in Norfolk, it was 10 plus miles to anywhere of interest. We would recommend the Sculthorpe Community Nature Reserve and their Hawk and Owl Trust. Very easy access for wheelchairs etc and long flat walks with hides to watch the wild life. Also the faltish walk out on the Blakeney Nature reserve. Take the Back Lane turning by the Blakeney Church to go to the harbour side. We had a long walk and a good lunch at the harbour side hotel. Can't remember it's name.
