  • "Lovely place to stay, large rooms ( and biggest closet I have ever seen in a rental place !"

). The small complex is gated so feel extra secure. Very secluded location so peaceful. The place is one of 5 in a quad. Fairly central in location to alot of places in north Northfolk, so plenty to do in the surrounding area. A selection of coffees and teabags along with a pint of milk in the fridge when we arrived. I found the double bed a bit on the hard side especially on the first night , but soon got used to it, and this is more my personal view. Partner slept like a log on it . I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a ncid peaceful time away .

  • "We left the property two days early because we not comfortable and issues we had raised about the ensuite were not resolved in time for our departure."

Firstly on arrival we had to carry our luggage from the car park to the property, from the listing photos it was not obvious this was the set up. We are both have mobility issues and would not have booked this property. The representative Jane did offer help on our normal leaving day. The property itself was a good size, bedrooms high ceilings and on shady side of the building which was good a no fans were provided. Both twin beds were poor quality, slept badly. The double bed was very firm but comfortable. In the listing photos showed one sofa and 2 arm chairs, in fact we had 2 sofas which were uncomfortable to the extreme they had no support in the seat cushions, making it impossible to relax and watch the tv which was listed as having freeview although we only found terrestrial channels. The dining chairs had no seat pads which made sitting to eat a meal uncomfortable. The patio furniture was basic plastic with no seat pads or parasol despite the patio being in full sun all day, we therefore were unable to sit out. The showers were both electric and had the worst pressure of any shower we have experienced in many years of self catering holidays. We had to wash our hair in the kitchen sink. On arrival the ensuite had a loose toilet seat. The ensuite was windowless and the extractor fan did not work. We contacted the representative on the Saturday, she came on Sunday but was not able to fix them. She said that someone would come on Monday but the items were still u/s when left. In addition On Tuesday night the ensuite toilet would not stop running water, thus the cistern was constantly refilling loudly all night, meaning we did not get any sleep. We contacted the representative and were told they could not get anyone out to look at this until Thursday morning. The fact that issues had not been sorted before when we were told they would be, we decided that at least another sleepless night was unacceptable which is why we left two days early. In conclusion we feel that the owners have not given attention to detail to the property, and that better quality furnishing and sanitary ware it would have been a very nice place to stay, as the location was excellent. We have noted that there are a lot a available weeks ongoing which is possibly a reflection on previous poor feedback that has not been acted upon. Other suggestions would be : A fan for warm weather, an up to date television with catch up and boosters for the internet as it was sometimes only available in the living room and even only outside. As we have used Sykes to book our holidays on several occasions it gives us no pleasure to give one of one your properties such a poor review, however as we had to give up 2 days of our holiday we feel it is justified.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay. We wish you brought these issues to our attention while you were in the property for us to resolve them for you. Property Owner

The kitchen facilities and appliances were fine for cooking our meal, everything we needed. Big enough table comfy sofa quiet position. The television could do with an update. The bed in the main bedroom was very uncomfortable you could feel the springs. After two bad nights I used the spare duvet as a mattress topper. I didn't feel it had been cleaned as well as it could have been. There was a resident spider in the bedroom. The ensuite looked a bit grubby.

The kitchen was well equipped - although supplying only four teabags seemed a little on the frugal side - and sofas were comfortable, as was the bed. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great but it was perfectly adequate and probably better for water consumption. The cobwebs in the bedroom were magnificent although with such a high ceiling they are inevitable and everything else was clean. We were extremely comfortable for our five-night stay and would happily return.

Spacious, spotlessly clean and fresh. My elderly mother had the double room with en-suite ,self contained and private for her. In the living room/kitchen could’ve done with a pouffe or footstool for her comfort ,we resorted in placing a cushion on the coffee table which wasn’t ideal but we managed and it doesn’t reflect the overall comfort which was lovely. Beds were very comfortable and linen was clean and fresh smelling. Will definitely book again.

The area is lovely and it is easy to get to Holt and the coast. But we felt the cottage was a little tired. Equipment in kitchen could be added to eg maybe a slow cooker and cooking trays for the oven. Also, a full length mirror in the twin bedroom would be nice. The shower in the separate bathroom could do with a new shower head.

Thanks for your referral back to Sykes regarding your recent stay in Hollyberry Cottage . Firstly we really appreciate your feedback. We are sorry that we have on this occasion fallen short of the level of cleanliness that we strive to provide to our guests. Everywhere was flat, well spaced and very easy to move around, except the car park which was like a pea shingle and might cause some a little difficulty, although we managed ok. Couple of small points- put a few more clothes hooks into the master bedroom ensuite - our disabled user found that a challenge. Also sadly the nice three piece suite is losing its firmness and our disabled user couldn't get up after sitting down. Overall though it worked well and we would come again. Thank you.

The main bed was very hard therefore I struggled to sleep for the whole week and as others have commented on there were cobwebs everywhere which made the place feel dirty, while the other areas were generally clean. Sofas were very soft and again not very comfortable, hence the score around comfort as a whole. On a more positive note the children (10,7) really loved the playground area and it felt very safe for them to enjoy.

The children loved having the play equipment in the field and we never saw anyone else in there. The grounds were beautiful. The children enjoyed watching the tractors in the field. The cottage was very spacious and perfect for our needs with 2 children 5&8. The patio was next to the front door so not private as it’s in the courtyard with the patios and front doors for the other cottages. Just something to be aware of if you’d want to sit out in privacy - you can’t. It didn’t bother us though. Just 30mins drive to the coast (we went to the lovely Sheringham beach) and 40min drive to Norwich. We used a Morrison’s supermarket only 10mins drive away. I would stay here again. Great value for money.

Far bigger than we expected. We'll equipped kitchen including washer dryer which was great for getting clothes clean and dry after happy days sploshing through muddy puddles and paddling in the sea at Cromer, Sheringham and Wells which are all a little over half an hour away. Good Covid-19 measures in place although shutting the outdoor play area felt like a step too far and was disappointing for the children. It was one of the reasons we chose Holly Berry. Holly Berry accommodation was well equipped clean and tidy. Wood Norton is out in the beautiful Norfolk countryside and for November we were blessed with good weather. Convenient for the North Norfolk coast which can only be described as charming. The Sandringham Estate is within reasonable driving distance. Many National Trust properties and some quaint but picturesque towns, particularly Holt. The popular Thursford Collection is quite close and we attended their Christmas Spectacular Show - wonderful doesn't do it justice! It's truly amazing - well worth a visit. The auditorium seats 1500 and the show runs on most days through November and December but book early - we purchased our tickets 10 months prior to the show and a fair proportion of the seats had already been taken. To summarise lots to see and do to suit all ages, our seven days were totally insufficient to see all we wanted - Norfolk is calling us back!

It did not disappoint. The property was good, well-furnished, clean and modern. As regards location, access to main roads was acceptable, and the immediate surroundings pleasantly rural and visually pleasing. A lack of connectivity for mobile phone was a pity, but if you 'go rural' that does so often happen. One thing we would have appreciated would have been a small fridge-freezer, rather than a simple fridge (with minimal 'deeper cooling bit'). It's not just kids who enjoy having ices/sorbets to hand!
