  • "Well appointed holiday home."

Mike the owner was attentive to providing a good experience. We stayed in February and the fire in the lounge was lovely and warming. Great location for the village and beach. Good sized secure back garden. Would recommend.

  • "Lovely comfy place to stay , even though we had a power cut for half our stay the log burners warmed the house and cooked our food and made a nice change to without i pads and phones !"

Thanks for your feedback, apologies regarding any inconvenience you had with a power cut, it was outside my control as it was due to a local major storm. I'm glad the log burner helped and thank you for your top scores for comfort and cleanliness Property Owner

  • "We have just arrived back after a fabulous bank holiday weekend with 6 adults, 5 children and two labradors."

The cottage is perfect, plenty big enough for us all to have our own space but equally to all be together at the dining table and living area. The location couldn’t have been better for a relaxing getaway, a beach, shops, pubs, a bakery, chip shop and ice cream shops all on the doorstep. The WiFi was a life saver for the older kids and there’s a park right behind the house for them to play on. The owner was fantastic and made sure we were comfortable with the temperature of the heating and checked in with us by phone that everything was ok for us, nothing too much trouble! The beds were comfortable and clean with lovely soft towels for each guest and had a lovely homely feel. We are currently in discussion about when we can return and were sad to leave! I’d recommend this property to anyone!

I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. You’re welcome back anytime. Property Owner

  • "We recd. a list of instructions from owner just before our break."

Labelled -"how to enjoy hols it was more of an instruction on "what NOT to do ! I have left note for cleaners that there was a stain on bottom step of stairs and small black mark to left of fireplace in main bedroom on 1st floor , both done before we arrived .Generally though , this is a fine house , large and with plenty of character , definately recommend to others . We have rented a number of properties in Aberdaron and this is without doubt the best , very comfortable.. PJ

Thanks for your comments and for letting me know about the marks which I will check. Thank you for your complimentary thoughts and I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and that you will recommend it to others, many thanks Property Owner

Set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with stunning beaches and coastline, at the tip of the Llyn Peninsula, Gladstone is a fabulous escape for families or groups of friends looking to experience the delights of the region.

This large holiday home has been converted from what was originally the local smithy and retains many original features including two inglenook fireplaces with woodburning stoves.

The heart of the cottage is the spacious kitchen, with a farmhouse style dining table and a range of appliances, making it an excellent spot for home-cooking.

Just off the kitchen is the utility room, complete with washing machine, tumble dryer and sink, handy for when your trails take off on a muddier route.

Spend your down time in the lounge, furnished with two sofas, easy chairs, a Smart TV and an inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove.

Continue to the outside, where you can discover the fully enclosed grassed grounds with small patio, garden bench and picnic table, perfect for a drink on a balmy evening.

When you start to tire, climb to the first floor and discover the bedrooms, including a family room with king-size and single bed, a double bedroom and two twin rooms, rooms, each carpeted and simply furnished.

The large fourth attic bedroom is accessible by another set of stairs and has three singles, a TV and DVD player and limited headspace.

There is a children's play area adjacent to Gladstone, ideal for those with young families.

The local village of Aberdaron boasts two award-winning bars both serving meals and light refreshments, cafés and a fish and chip shop selling locally caught seafood, so there’s plenty of options.

Those avid walkers join the South West Coastal Path, just a moments' walk from doorstep, offering stunning walks in both directions.

Traeth Aberdaron beach is a wonderful choice for an afternoon of sunbathing, while a little further afield is the gorgeous Porth Ysgo beach, as well as the lovely Porth Simdde reserve and the shoreside 12th century church.

Brush up on the local history by visiting the Secret Nuclear Bunker, the Roman Fort close to Abersoch or you can hop on a boat trip to Bardsey Island.

There’s plenty to explore whilst holiday at Gladstone!
