  • "We enjoyed our stay at 21 Cae Du, the property was clean and reasonably well equipped and maintained."

  • "Lovely house with a great location and very comfortable."

Unfortunately the cleanliness and maintenance of the property has affected my feedback. I have stayed in Sykes properties several times and always found them to be of the highest quality. However, on this occasion this is not the case. Firstly the view from the balcony did not match the photographs. A flag has been cleverly placed on the railing of the balcony when the photo for your website was taken to hide the view - which is in fact a derelict building that is an eyesore! Then there is the cleanliness of the property as follows that I have taken photos of if the company wishes to see them. - lots of dirt and dust on the bedroom plugs, litter under the bed, dust and dirt on the mattress for the travel cot that is on top of the wardrobe, stains down the bathroom door, dust and sand underneath the living room couch, dirt on the living room floor that looked like it had not been mopped. The balcony decking was tired and worn looking, there was chewing gum on the balcony floor and an empty bottle of beer and some material in the guttering of the balcony that must have been dropped there by a previous holiday maker. Then re maintenance some of the kitchen cupboards and the sink taps were loose, no instructions on how to use the tv or electric fire. There was a remote control in one of the kitchen drawers that I think may be for the fire but it had no batteries in it. We could not work the central heating as there were no instructions and one of the nights that we stayed was cold. I have to say that the beds and linen were very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was clean and the shower good. I have given 3 stars overall due to the property location and layout.

Thanks for the feedback. I have spoken to the cleaning company as I know they are busy in peak season, but fitted in a clean due to your very lastminute booking but that is no excuse. The tap is being fixed as is the toilet seat that was broken by guests. The sail on the balcony has been removed for repair work due to a recent storm and was ripped. It is there for protection to the elements. There is no clever photography! In addition, the decking is wooden and not tired having been put in last year. The instructions for every appliance is in the welcome book in the top kitchen drawer. We will replace the batteries now we are aware but there is a blow heater in the property which works well with storage heaters (just switch on at wall) in winter months. We hope you enjoyed your lastminute 3-day trip 5 minutes walk from the beach. Property Owner

  • "On the negative side the bushes near the steps down to the car park should be cut back and possibly a handrail fitted."

The property itself was excellent. Very clean and comfortable with every possible appliance provided and in full working order. Providing bedding and towels was an added bonus. For the benefit of future guests it may be worth mentioning that a hairdryer, shaving point or terrestrial television are not available. We would be quite happy to book this property again.

Thank you for your feedback. The hedges and bushes by the Spar leading to the carpark are cut back annually and organised by a communal maintenance team. This and a handrail on the steps by carpark are out of our property's control unfortunately, as maintained by the trustees of the entire estate. Glad you enjoyed your stay and we'd be delighted to have you stay again. Property Owner

  • "The only negative is that you can hear the fridge fan when sleeping in either bedroom below."

Perhaps a new fridge that wasn’t as loud would fix the problem.

Thank you for the feedback and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay with us. The fridge was purchased new in August 2022 so only a year old. We stayed there the week before and slept without any noise issue. You need to make sure you close the door properly but we will look into it. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "Lovely modern airy house, great location with short walk to main beach."

Easy parking. Really loved using the terrace. Slight negative is constant sound of the Spar Shop air-conditioning units when out on terrace, but would not deter us from booking again.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the convenient location and outside balcony. The Spar generator is now resolved. Property Owner

About the location

ABERSOCH

Pwllheli 6 miles.

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
