  • "We had a lovely time at Plas Mawr."

The house was clean and tidy, the weather was kind to us too. Close to a bus route if you don't want to drive every day. It was great to use the hot tub after a long day walking to ease our aching muscles. We would highly recommend this property and we will return again in the future.

  • "We had a fabulous time in this beautiful cottage that is very comfortable, and so lovely and warm and spotlessly clean."

The kitchen is well equipped and the log burner in the sitting room is easy to use. I would have given 5 stars but unfortunately 5 out of 8 of us have come home with hot tub rash (folliculitis). The hot tub is beautiful and obviously had new water in when we arrived, we were very careful to use it sensibly, only staying in around 15-20 minutes per day and we had separate swim towels which I washed and dried along with our costumes throughout the week but after 5 days we noticed the water smelt very unpleasant. We contacted the owners who attended within 5 minutes of sending the text which was exceptional customer service and "chemicalised" the hot tub. However it seems the damage had been done as 5 out of 8 us came out in very painful lumps/spots the next day and are still suffering the effects. Having done some research since we got home it is my understanding that the hot tub should have the water tested everyday and it is my belief that this was not done. I am very sad to leave this in a review as the owners were otherwise excellent and the cottage is brilliant but this is the second time we have had an experience like this in one of Sykes cottages. Therefore it may be worth anyone hiring the cottage to ask owners to check the water quality each day if you wish to use the tub every day as we did. The cottage is in an excellent location close to the coast and places of interest and is in a peaceful setting, with an additional holiday let next door. We would definitely return. A none slip mat would be beneficial in the shower cubicle also.

The cottage was so beautiful! The only downfall was the power cut on our last day and also occasional bugs. The location and scenery is surreal Will definitely book again in the future Would highly recommend booking!!!

  • "Beautiful property in a great location for Snowdon."

8 adults and plenty of space for us all (we didn't mind sharing double beds but note only one of the bedrooms is a twin). We loved the hottub and relaxing in the back garden. Beds were super cosy, kitchen and living room are a great size and perfect for eating/socialising together. The perfect weekend break for a group of friends, would definitely recommend and hope to return.

  • "A wonderful, cosy and comfortable cottage with everything you need for a relaxing stay."

We all thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub every night and morning. Extremely central for all attractions and sightseeing that you’d want to visit whilst staying in snowdonia. A welcoming, family pub with great food at fantastic prices called the Newborough Arms in Bontnewydd which became our locals whilst staying there. And also a fantastic, old pub in the walled town of Caernarfon called the Black Boy Inn, one of the best we’ve ever visited also with fabulous food and great service which we visited twice. Couldn’t recommend the cottage and beautiful location enough. Thank you.

Cottage was lovely and spacious and the owners couldn’t be more helpful and knowledgeable. Lovely place to explore Wales and only 5 mins from the beach which my little one throughly enjoyed. Thanks for a lovely week on our first but won’t be our last visit to Wales.

  • "Cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival a little difficult to find via the sat nav as the sat nav takes you passed the main entrance by about 1/2 mile."

Facilities were great however lack of washing machine and drier was a disappointment. Also on arrival would have been nice to have a little starter pack like coffee tea bags etc as in all other cottages we have stayed. Not complaing though as there was a nice bottle of Prosecco with a birthday message for my wife(wife said thanks hic) The biggest disappointment was unavoidable as Storm Arwen hit on our 2nd night leaving us with no electricity for 28hrs. Spoke to Angela who was helpful and brought us some logs for the log burner, but as this seemed to be a regular occurrence, would've been nice to have contingency plan in place like torches, candles etc. Although we had hot water tank full of hot water couldn't get shower as they were run by electric. All in all this didn't spoil our fun and we had a great break. Would definitely go back.

  • "Lovely cottage for family holiday."

Plenty of space for 6 adults. Extremely well equipped and spacious kitchen and comfortable beds. Ideal situation for visiting North Wales. Peaceful, calm surroundings and we were fortunate that the weather was very kind and we were able to sit outside well into the evening. Caernarfon quite close but varied journey times due to many roadworks but is easily accessible otherwise. Would highly recommend to others.

The bedrooms are all a good size and very comfortable. There is plenty of social space so my young children had space to play on rainy days. The cottage is warm and cosy with the lovely addition of the fire in the living space for the cooler nights. The cottage is well placed for Snowdonia and the beach. There are lovely walks around the area too. The owners are friendly and on hand if needed. I also recommend the meat from Wavells butchers.

Cottage description was accurate and decent quality for our needs. Not sure if this feedback is for the cottage as well.... nice quiet location which was central enough to drive to all areas we wanted to. Good sized rooms, beds had decent mattress for good nights sleep. TV remote might need new batteries as intermittently working. Log fire looked nice for the winter but didn't need with the weather we had. Hot water and bathrooms were good. A washing machine would be a useful addition as could probably have used this but not essential. Wifi seemed to work fine generally. Cottage owners were very responsive when had a power cut due to thunder storm. Nice property.

Warm, comfortable and immaculately presented. Only a couple of small issues that could be fixed to make it even better - downstairs loo didn’t flush too well, not enough loo roll for 6 people over 2 nights and couldn’t get one oven door to shut properly (however all others worked so not a big problem). Some better knives would have been appreciated for cooking in the evening too! But only very minor Issues and we had a fabulous stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others! Lovely owners too. Thank you.

We were a party of 8 adults and a small child. The booking came up showing an occupancy of 2. I contacted Booking.com twice to say that it should read full occupancy with no reply. I then contacted Sykes who confirmed full occupancy to me but did not pass this on to the owners. I therefore had to request more bedding towels and toilet rolls on arrival.

It's in a perfect location, set in quiet and scenic countryside, but close enough to local beaches, restaurants and attractions should you want to visit them. The owners Angela and Bryn were welcoming and really helpful and gave us great recommendations for beaches and restaurants. The character is also apparent in the extended part of the farmhouse, which blends beautifully with the spacious and stylish kitchen/diner which also boasts integrated appliances and a range cooker.

There is also a ground floor cloakroom for convenience.

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, each individually furnished and styled to suit all, one benefits from an en-suite shower room.

Completing the accommodation is a classy family bathroom charmed by rustic wooden floorboards.

There are lots of walks to enjoy from the cottage, each taking in some wonderful scenery along the way, and within a couple of miles you can enjoy a day on the beautiful Blue Flag beach at Dinas Dinlle.
