  • "Treflys was the perfect home away from home."

It had everything we needed and the location was ideal for popping into town for a wander. The only downside was the parking, but with the Green car park close by, it wasn’t a massive issue and it definitely wouldn’t put us off staying here again.

  • "A lovely comfortable well furnished and decorated cottage which is more spacious than it looked in the photos."

The conservatory and outdoor space work well for relaxing. Only a couple of suggestions that might help, a hook on the main bedroom door would have been useful and moving the sofa in the conservatory to the other side would give a better view. The outdoor seating cushions need a bit of a clean.

  • "Our stay at Treflys was fantastic, the property is well maintained and kept to a high standard."

Lots of nice touches to the decor and furnishings plus the property was well stocked with basics like dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid to get us through the first day or two (Tesco do deliver to Treflys!). It’s clear that the owner takes great pride in the property and we felt that as we entered. Our girls loved their bedroom, and we were comfortable in ours too. There is lots of space so a family of four are never on top of each other, and a nice outdoor space too. Beaumaris itself is fab, highly recommend the steak pie at the Liverpool Arms! The high street has lots of restaurants, pubs and bistros. There is also a fab bakery not 2 minutes stroll from Treflys - cakes, breakfast barms, fresh bread. It was a perfect base to explore the island and provided lots of options for local activities in between further explorations. Crabbing off the pier, a boat trip to Puffin Island, the Castle, and the Gaol are all a very short walk away! It made the stay easy knowing you could walk out of the door and be well fed, and entertained in moments. There is a lovely community feel to Beaumaris and it was a great base, and Treflys is lovely to just relax and unwind in after a long walk, it really did feel like home for the week. The kitchen is well stocked and really well equipped, making meal preparation very simple. Finally, I’ll address the two things that did come up in previous reviews but weren’t significant issues and certainly didn’t spoil the stay. The toilet is quite high for the kids, I think a foot stool would solve that quite simply though. And the parking can be quite difficult at times, essentially the street (and some in the know tourists who don’t want to pay for parking) are all competing for the same spots, it was mildly annoying if someone parked directly outside but there was always somewhere to park nearby, and more often than not we could park outside. It certainly wasn’t a big issue and it wouldn’t put us off staying here. Overall, a wonderful week at Treflys and we definitely would stay here again!

  • "A lovely house that feels very homely."

It's well furnished and decor is fresh. The house is well equipped and and very comfortable. The patio at the rear is a great place to sit and relax with a drink. Parking outside the house can be an issue during the day but as we were away exploring the area parking was always available after 5.00pm. Beaumaris is a beautiful place and Treflys is a great base for a holiday.

Thank you so much for your review and for sharing your experience with others. We strive to offer a home from home experience and a calm and cosy environment for you to relax and enjoy your holiday. Parking on the lane is usually always available so it’s good to know that you were able to find a spot. Property Owner

Thank you for leaving a review, Derek. We are thrilled to hear you found the house excellent. Parking in Beaumaris is a premium but it’s always available near the house - good to hear that this was also your experience. Property Owner

Toilet is to high. Great property for exploring the town.

Thank you for your review and observations. The toilet is a modern ‘comfort’ height so much kinder on the knees. The photographs of the property are representative of the facilities, the lounge has a large 3 person sofa, a chair and 4 x dining chairs. The house is in a great spot for exploring and you were lucky with the weather. Property Owner

It is a 2 minute walk to the High Street, Beaumaris Castle and Beaumaris Gaol which I highly recommend visiting. The property is well equipped for all your needs. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need for cooking. The living room has a very comfortable sofa and chairs for a nice relaxing movie night. The beds were very comfortable which is a must for a good holiday. I would highly recommend this property and will definitely be returning.

  • "The house itself is brilliant, with a spacious living room, kitchen with everything you could need and a nice conservatory which we ate in a couple of times."

Bedrooms both well furnished too. The only spoiler was the parking, despite the gates having a sign it was a lottery how close to the house we could park and we had to block the street to unload on arrival. Nothing the owner of the property can do, even one of the neighbours I spoke to was tired of it. Now we know what to expect though that wouldn't put us off returning as the house is excellent and the owner was in regular contact checking we were enjoying our holiday.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review - it is very much appreciated. I'm thrilled to hear you thought the house was excellent and well-equipped and that you were able to enjoy all the space the house has to offer. Allocated parking in Beaumaris is very rare and from time to time inconsiderate drivers do take their chances when they see a spot and show little regard for the paint on the road. I'm pleased to learn, however, that this would not deter you from returning and I hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Great property, clean and comfortable."

Great position and no problem parking. Would be better if a little more crockery. Just enough mugs etc but not if you choose to cook and eat at home, had to wash up regularly. Loved the conservatory but is very hot would benefit from some roof blinds to reduce the glare. Otherwise loved the house and felt very much at home. Have already recommended to a friend.

Thank you for choosing Treflys for your holiday and for taking time to write a review and for your feedback. The position of the house is great, being only a few minutes walk from the seafront. Thank you for recommending the house to a friend - very kind of you. Property Owner

... beautifully furnished. The house had been sympathetically renovated last year. Katy welcomed us by email and we knew she lived nearby if there were any problems. The paved area at the back of the property was great for our dog, no worries about her escaping. .There is a parking space at the front of the house, sometimes a little difficult because roads are so narrow. Beaumaris is an interesting town, so much history and many independent little shops. Easy to walk around. We really enjoyed our week's stay

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
