  • "A very comfortable and warm accommodation in an excellent location."

Owners make you very welcome. Local pub (excellent meals including Sunday lunch), beach, cafe and shops (Tesco, Coop and Spar) all within walking distance. Bangor, with it's long pier and numerous shops within 30 minutes drive. One criticism of Anglesey local councils - public toilets are closed at the end of September.

The Cottage is larger than it appears on the photos and has everything you need. I would agree with a previous review that a shelf/cupboard is needed in the bathroom for wash bags etc.

  • "A lovely stay at this little cottage."

It was exceptionally clean on arrival & we really appreciated the thoughtful gesture of fresh milk in the fridge, tea & coffee. Set in a great location for Benllech village centre & the beach & very comfortable for our family of 4 & a dog. There is a well stocked small Tesco a stones throw away & an array of great pubs, cafes & restaurants within a very short work, plus a co-op the other end of the village, so everything you could need on hand. We found a fast charging point 15 mins drive away, which worked well as we stopped on route to Trearddur Bay. The enclosed decking area was perfect for our dog. Tiny quick wins would be hooks on the back of bedroom doors as well as bathroom & some shelving & storage in the bathroom, which had plenty of space for it, as I had to store all my toiletries on the bathroom floor which was a pain. I bought & left some pegs for future guests as all our washing (really appreciated the washing machine!) kept blowing off the airer when we left it outside to dry. A retractable washing line over the decking would be a great addition. We really enjoyed our week here - a great little cottage at a bargain price. We would definitely return & have already been looking at availability over the summer. Highly recommend.

  • "The cottage was a lovely large size and very well equipped."

The master bedroom is huge with the most storage space we have encountered in our many cottage holidays. The 2nd bedroom again was of a large size with lots of storage. The bathroom was so clean and again plentiful in size. The main living/dining and kitchen were very large and very well equipped; all areas were extremely clean and comfortable, with a number of extras included that were very welcoming. The cottage itself was very warm and cosy, with no issues with any appliances. The owners are very warm, friendly and welcoming, with full up-to-date information about the local area, including up-to-date menus for takeaways/restaurants. If anyone is unsure about car charging, there are a number of charging stations 5 miles away, including some fast chargers so that was not an issue; all I would suggest to anyone staying here in the future is whilst the directions are accurate the lane is very difficult to locate as it doesn't look like a lane! Another thing to note is that Google Maps is not accurate regards the walk to the beach (maps state it is mostly flat) as the hill is very steep to walk back up to the village. This has to be one of the best cottages we have stayed at via this site and will no doubt book again if we were to once again visit this area

  • "All in all the cottage and location was good."

However the heating and hot water system was not up to scratch and was always cold there. The hot water was Luke warm. The shower cubicle doors kept coming off the rails. The fridge compartment doesn’t chill properly and food was going off. I was for 12 nights and would have hoped for clean bedding in between but nothing was offered. One evening there was no heating or hot water for 8 hours and I couldn’t rouse either owners at all and this was awful as it was mid December and was freezing. On the day I checked out the owners contacted Sykes to ask me to contribute £70 for the gas that heats the cottage which I refused. All in all a bad experience

The cottage itself is lovely and the owner was friendly and helpful. There is lots to do in the area. We went to the beaches at Benllech, Red Wharf Bay and Traeth Bychan. Benllech beach has a dog friendly zone and the other two beaches are completely dog-friendly. We also went to Ynys Tysilio, a lovely small island with a small church, which is accessible via a permanent walkway. The nearby pub, The Benllech serves lovely food and is dog friendly too. We also had some lovely food from Talent House, a Chinese takeaway and the Golden Fry chippie.

We have booked again for 2024 such is the quality and location of this property. This property is comfortable, clean and well equipped. It is in a highly convenient location with just 2 minutes walk to the pub or to get groceries. Private parking on the driveway outside the front door is a big plus. The owners, a pleasant and helpful couple, live just a few doors away. Please be aware that this property has no garden even though several web sites say it has. The house was lovely and clean with everything we needed, it is in a great location in the centre of lovely Benllech and walking distance to the shops, beach and pubs. We had a fantastic family holiday as plenty to do on the Island despite the on and off weather and the only small negative comment because we had 2 teenagers was that the internet connection was poor. Description of house and small decked area only at the front was accurate and therefore wouldn’t be as suitable for family’s with younger children and a dog who like to run round outside unless you have access the the big house next door which has a great garden space. • "We really enjoyed our stay at Bryn Y Don Cottage."

It was very easy to find following the directions given. The cottage was clean, bright and spacious and the kitchen was fully equipped. The cottage is in the middle of Benllech village, with a wide range of local facilities available within easy walking distance, such as a Tesco Local, several takeaways, pub and seafood shop. I recommend the Golden Fry chippie, which does an excellent click and collect service. The beach is a ten minute walk away, with a very wide beach at low tide. Dogs are permitted on the northern and southern extremes of Benllech beach, though these sections are inaccessible at high tide. There are several other dog-friendly beaches a short drive away. From the cottage, the beach is visible, as are Mount Snowdon and other peaks. The sea is actually only a few hundred yards away and makes a nice relaxing sound from the patio. The cottage makes an excellent base for visiting local attractions. We took our dog with us to walk across the Menai Strait via the Menai Bridge and then the short distance along the coastal path to Church Island, which is a small island accessible by a permanant tarmaced walkway which is home to the small St Tysilio church and adjoining graveyard. We also visited the railway station at Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll which is nearby. We have also been to Holy Island to take a walk down the 400+ steps to Short Stack island and its lighthouse, although it is currently not possible to cross the bridge to the island due to Covid restrictions. In any case, dogs are not permitted on the lighthouse tour. We would highly recommend this cottage and have already booked our next stay.

We stayed in the cottage for a week and loved every minute. We had all the amenities we would need to accommodate a family of 4, one of which is only 18months. We had a cot, highchair and stair gate ready in the property meaning we didn’t need to worry about bringing our own. With a TV in every room and good WiFi connection this meant our teenager was more than happy too. The property is extremely well decorated, a nice bathroom and lovely comfortable beds it’s also lovely and warm so we didn’t require heating at all, not even at night! The kitchen is well equipped so if your looking to do plenty of cooking you’ll have everything you need and no stress afterwards with an dishwasher for the pots and pans. The location is 5 mins from the very picturesque Benllech Beach and 300 yards or so to the local shops, chip shop, takeaway and pub.
