  • "We were very pleased with this cottage."

Well located for exploring North Wales. The cottage was very clean and had a well stocked kitchen but couldn't find the scales for weighing out some ingredients when baking some bread - perhaps I hadn't looked hard enough! It was a treat to have a dishwasher with tablets supplied. It was also handy to have the washing machine and tumble dryer too. The view overlooking the mountain from the master bedroom was stunning. The Co-op was only a short walk away, as was the local bakery, a must for a visit and a chat with the friendly Kurdish chap who runs it. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed sitting on the bench in the front garden in the evenings. My partner was very happy to find that it was a short walk up to the slate mine from the back of the cottage and he spent many happy hours doing just that. I'd recommend spending several days here, it really is a great little place.

The owners had left a handy information booklet and were easily contacted if required. The only disappointment had nothing to do with the cottage, but the area in which it was located was not the most tourist friendly and had very little facilities or amenities close by.

  • "We had an extremely amazing time at this cottage."

The maintenance and cleanliness was on top of everything. It was comfortable, we had a short stay but we enjoyed and used the facilities provided. The nearby Co op store was bonus. The only downfall was the TV which we couldn't take benefit of as it wasn't something advanced. I tried it few times and couldn't even change any channels. They should update it with a Smart TV, these days everyone is use to with advanced technologies instead of using old style Antenna or Box. The dvds provided were old as well. So a Smart TV would do the job better. On the other side, the accommodation was very comfortable, felt like home. The scenery outside was awesome, beautiful views all around. We would love to come back and have already recommended others and there would be new customers coming soon your way.

Thank you for your feedback. We have taken your advice and have upgraded the TV to a smart TV. Please come back and see us again. Barry and Emma Clinton Property Owner

  • "The house ( not really a cottage) was lovely."

Beds were comfortable, we had everything we needed BUT we moved coffee table to cover fire as we had a 1year old with us and was dirty underneath. Also may I suggest you tell your cleaners if they are going to clean with back door open that they get rid of the bloody flies before they leave. There was at least 10 flys in the house it was disgusting.

Our cleaners are very thorough, and our consistently great feedback reflects how delighted guests are with the high standard of cleanliness of the house. At this time of year, sometimes a window may be opened to air the house ready for each new set of guests. Our cleaners don’t move larger pieces of furniture as part of a standard clean every time, - rather a deep clean is arranged a few times per year. We don’t expect visitors to re-position big items of furniture during their stay. Property Owner

It was the most comfortable place We stayed out of the six accommodations we went to in great Britain. Not only did it have everything we needed but it had so many extras! Really felt like a home with throw blankets on the couches and games books and DVDs available to use. The washer and dryer were very helpful. The shower was big and enjoyable to use. even though we were there during what the locals called a heat wave the house didn’t heat up as much as many of the other accommodations we stayed at did, It must be well insulated. Getting in and out of the house using the lockbox was very easy which we really appreciated.

12 - 03.01). To say that we’ve enjoyed our stay would be to say nothing! The cottage is very well looked after, there’s ample space and all the facilities one can ask for! We found the location of the cottage very convenient for exploring North Wales, it was very easy to find and the instructions and communication with the owners were great! The cottage is very warm, extremely cosy, with that “home away from home” feel, and we had the most wonderful 3 nights there! The kitchen in the cottage is equipped with everything and more that one might need during even a long stay. I can easily imagine myself coming and staying there for the 3 months of summer and in fact we’re already planning to stay at the cottage again. In general, I would totally recommend the Yr Adfa cottage to anyone, you will not be disappointed! Many thanks to the very thoughtful owners of the cottage - you really made us feel at home!

We had an amazing holiday at Yr Adfa. It's so well equipped, with everything you can think of. And such lovely quality items too. We loved having 3 bedrooms and the downstairs area was plenty big enough too. We ate beautiful food on a number of occasions within walking distance of the house, and it's so perfectly situated for visiting the whole of North Wales. We travelled to Portmeirion, Harlech, the Llyn peninsula, Caernarfon, Anglesey, Bangor and Conwy. Not to mention inland destinations of Llanberis and Llangollen. We enjoyed the most stunning scenery, and beaches we only dreamed of. This cottage really is perfectly situated to visit so many beautiful places. And still plenty of lakes and waterfalls nearby. We had great communication with the owners, who were super speedy with their responses. It's a very warm cottage, but instant heat if you needed it from an electric fire. We really could not fault it at all, and have made memories to last a lifetime.
