  • "I leave this review with a huge level of reluctance."

.. as I want to keep it my little secret. :) Coed Derw Isaf is a real gem. We started our holiday with all the family and when everyone drifted back to work, my wife and I chilled out for the rest of our say. Coed Derw Isaf felt like home when it was full of family or just the two of us. We wanted for nothing. Our hosts ensured we had a lovely welcome and all our needs were catered for. Beautifully decorated throughout and loads of room to spread out and relax. Positioned within walking distance of the lovely Betws-y-Coed and a short drive from the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia Eryri national park you are well placed for a great holiday. I highly recommend Coed Derw Isaf and can't wait to return.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. Property Owner

  • "Exactly the cottage we needed for our holiday in Wales."

Set in a quiet location but within walking distance of the village this property was ideal for us. There are walks from the door but also plenty of walks within a thirty minute drive. The cottage is clean, well equipped with a lovely garden for relaxing after those long, uphill walks. The bedrooms are light and airy with really comfortable beds and the showers are some of the best we've ever used. There was no space available in the kitchen for our shopping as all the cupboards were full and the low backed sofas and chairs were a little uncomfortable. Neither of these two things was insurmountable and in now way spoilt our stay. We are already planning our return to Coed Derw Isaf and would highly recommend this property. Thank you Sara and Pete for being lovely hosts.

Thank you for your lovely review - we are pleased you enjoyed your stay - I’ll sort some space out in kitchen as things are spread out a bit! Sofas I have a think but thank you! Sara and Pete Property Owner

  • "The property was very near perfect."

Very cleanly decorated and well equipped. Ideally located just out of town so it was nice and quiet. We were six walkers coming back from wet winter walks and there was always plenty of hot water to satisfy our showers. The gardens were tidy and well maintained and would be wonderful in spring and summer. The only two negatives were the key box. We had difficulty every time as it was very fiddily to open. Secondly a tumble dryer for drying our walking kit would have been very helpful. Not insurmountable but better than cluttering up radiators.

Thank you for your feedback I’ll check the key box maybe it’s suffered over the wet months! I have considered a tumble dryer and thank you for your kind comments Sara and Pete Property Owner

  • "Had a great stay at Coed Derw Isaf."

A lovely home in pretty surroundings with most shops a short walk away. Due to a medical emergency we under occupied by 4 people but this would accommodate 8 people with ease. I was fortunate enough to have the master bedroom which was a pleasure to stay in including the vast bathroom which I swam in several times. My only moan would be the mattresses in both of the larger rooms, as all four of us using these 2 rooms were not sleeping very well and aching quite a bit throughout the week. Maybe time to replace the mattresses. However, saying that I'll be back in a heartbeat as my brother lives close by and we intend to try again with another family get together. Thank you, but I do urge you to test drive your bed for a night, xx

Thank you for your review and glad you enjoyed your stay - with regards to the matteress the one in the main master bedroom is new - we have replaced the one in the other larger double . Many thanks Sara Property Owner

The gardens are well kept with plenty of areas for sitting outside and lots of space to park several cars. The lounge is large with space for everyone to sit together and there is lots of equipment provided in the kitchen for meals to be prepared. We enjoyed visiting many places in the area and would love to return to do more. The owners are very responsive to any issues.

We had a great time as a whole family with four generations all together ranging from 84yrs to 9months… everyones needs were catered for - from a walk in wet room for my elderly mother to a cot and highchair for my littlest munchkin!! Lots of space for the children to run and crawl around and plenty of seating for the adults to all be together either inside or out. And the welcome basket was a wonderful touch to start our holiday. You messaged me to advise that an extra guest and dog were coming which I acknowledged which was the same number in the Welcome Pack.
