  • "Fabulous property, well stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our stay."

  • "Great cottage and great location, could do with a few more glasses and cooking pans/baking sheets but we would recommend it as a place to stay."

Our only gripe is the steep access means you can't get a vehicle with a tow bar mounted bike rack up to the car park without removing the bike rack

Lovely house, very comfortable and ideal location for what we wanted to see and do at the end of our Wales road trip. A home from home. Thank you.

  • "Super clean."

Great kitchen facilities. Lovely warm and comfortable and homely cottage to come back to after walking. But if you didn't want to go out and be active, it's a great home just to laze about in. Great views and close to all amenities. Couldn't fault it and I'm picky!

  • "We loved our stay."

Ideal location and very cosy and inviting with plenty of room. There were a few very small things that would have been good. Such as kitchen roll and tin foil in the kitchen. Didn’t want to dirty up the lovely new kitchen and oven so foil would have helped. Also some soap/shower gel in the bathrooms would have been handy. It was a shame the log burner wasn’t working but with such good heating it was fine. We look forward to returning.

  • "Ty Capel was in a perfect location for a family based holiday in North Wales accessing a variety of nearby activities including: -Exploring waterfalls & castles -Climbing Snowdon and walking in the Ogwen valley -Surf Snowdonia - Zip World Fforest -Greenwood Family Park We enjoyed our time at the house elevated above the road, especially having a morning coffees and afternoon tea on the front patio."

The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. All facilities worked. On the downside the house would benefit from a deep clean - especially as there was mould on the floor underneath the freezer door and I would challenge only the brave to tackle under the sofa cushions (which were themselves probably ‘end of life’). Overall, a lovely spacious house in a great location with its own valuable village parking. We would return to Ty Capel but would look to see some TLC given to the property if we were not to look elsewhere first.

  • "This is a lovely house, in a fabulous location."

The bathrooms and toilets are an odd arrangement. Neither bathroom had a toilet therefore the luxury of an en suite was lost on us. The dining room is a fabulous space: it is excellent for families and we played several board games. The sitting room was little used because of the dining area but it was really pleasant. Our biggest issue was the main bedroom: the bed is horrendously uncomfortable. Quite frankly, for the money paid for the property, it needs replacing. The original slats have been replaced with hard wooden slats that are fixed in place with tape. One of the slats is broken. The memory foam is mouldy on the bottom. The memory foam also squished to nothing in the middle where all we could both feel was the hard boards. We quickly found ourselves moving to the outer edges of the bed to have some form of comfort. We were both in pain the following day and slept in our van for a couple of nights before we got a large air bed to replace the mattress with. The dishwasher leaks. In all honesty, if the beds were dealt with I would happily rate this holiday home as excellent. I would absolutely go back if there were decent beds in place; even if it was just the main bedroom I would book Ty Capel again.

Hello,Thank you for your review. We can only apologise if the bed was not comfortable-we have had no complaints previously so wasn’t aware there was an issue. We take customer feedback on board and can confirm the bed slats have since been replaced and we are looking in to the matter further. Again, please accept our apologies and thank you for raising this. Property Owner

  • "Very clean property."

Lots of space and excellent location. Bit odd that the en suite has no toilet and didn't use the downstairs shower as room was very cold. Couch and rug could do with renewing but these are small issues in comparison to everything that was provided. Very comfortable and well equipped with lovely views. Def recommend and want to return.

  • "Fantastic place to use as a gateway to all the local activities and walks etc, Over all, a fantastic place and We made LOADS of family memories!"

! If You're planning on self catering I'd bring a few bits like oven dishes etc, but most things provided (if a little "Used ")... The main "on suite" does NOT include a toilet, but there is a shared one upstairs, the one downstairs is REALLY cold, but this maybe because of the extractor fan?!? Overall, a great base, and a lovely location!

  • "House was not clean on arrival."

Rubbish on mantelpiece, dirty walls, crockery dirty and generally needs a really good deep clean. Not great especially in current times. The beds were fantastic and sheets lovely and fresh which was a positive. The house was ideally located and a lovely area, just needs a bit more care and attention
