  • "We had a blissful week at Nant Bach."

The cottage is down a track through a wood which adds to its magic. The cottage itself is charming and had everything we could need including a welcome pack and enough wood and kindling to get the wood burner going. Plenty of lovely beaches nearby and it’s not too far to drive to the Llanberis pass. The WiFi was hit and miss; however, that only added to our enjoyment at this retreat. We are completely refreshed and will return.

Bedroom not suitable, very claustrophobic, very low ceiling and beams. Property needs a good deep clean and making more homely. Bad phone and Internet reception. Dog loved the woods but we will not be going back.

It's a great base for exploring the Llyn Peninsula. The cottage is a really nicely done barn conversion. It's well laid out, spacious and very comfortable. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Nant Bach. We'll be back.

  • "We loved staying at Nant Bach."

Everything was absolutely great. Nant Bach is a beautiful place, surrounded by woods and open fields. It was so peaceful, a great place to unwind. We would recommend it to anyone. We are hoping to stay again next year. The detailed instructions of how to find Nant Bach were excellent. The owner John was very welcoming and easy to talk to. The only thing we suggested is that phone numbers for a GP surgery and Vets be added to the comprehensive information book.

  • "A very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Nant Bach, and I would be very happy to return."

The owners were very welcoming and helpful, and the welcome goodies were much appreciated. This lovely old cottage is set in the owners' extensive and beautiful grounds. The views all around are lovely, and the plot is very private although only a short distance from Nefyn and the coast, and is also easy to find. The only downside to my holiday was the atrocious weather which I did not expect at the end of April/early May.I only had two decent days, and sunshine on only one day- the rest of the time there were leaden skies, rain and wind.I am used to booking holidays well ahead of time, but having had two cottage holidays already this year with disappointing weather, I am now changing tack and will now be a last minute booker when I know the weather will be acceptable. However,Nant Bach is an ideal cottage to stay in whatever the weather. The two sofas are superbly comfortable, and the cottage is warm. The very calming birdsong all around is a treat.Highly recommended if, like me, your choice of holiday cottage is an old, beamed property with stone walls, wooden stable doors, a large cast iron roll top bath, and a spacious new shower. Many Thanks.

  • "Lovely cottage ideal for our 2 dogs as spacious with practical wooden flooring."

Quite a few maintenance issues need addressing though. Main doors to front & back entrance difficult to open as too tight to the floor. Door to small bedroom doesn't close. Cold tap in bathroom squeals when turned on. Electrics in main upstairs bedroom need looking at as main light switch often didn't turn on the light at all or light just flickering on & off. Access to property will also be much better once the stone has been fully laid which is already in progress. Our car got stuck in the mud once trying to pull out from the top of the driveway onto the main road.

  • "A beautiful cottage just off the A497 Pwllheli road, the cottage was built around the 1800's and this is what makes it so beautiful with the old beams etc."

There is a forest walk down the side too that you can use. We were met by John and Adele who live in their cottage at the side of Nant Bach, if you have any problems they are there to help. As you are just off the A497 this gives you access to the roads to travel to Porthmadog which is 25 mins away, if you do go to Porthmadog try Good Mood restaurant for some fabulous food. Pwllheli to Caernarfon is 32 mins away and its 45 mins from Pwllheli to Bangor. If you want a break away in a beautiful cottage in Wales then I recommend Nant Bach. Thank you so much John and Adele for a wonderful break, we hope to see you all soon.

The oldy world rustic country cottage style was just up our street, completely authentic, which is why we understand that some of the mod con facilities were missing, but it was no big deal. The only thing we would recommend is some lighting on the stairs from the bedroom. There are 2 deep steps from the bedroom to the short wooden staircase and the ceilings were low. We felt this was a bit risky given that there was no natural light outside and no night lights inside. Awkward if you need the loo at night, thankfully a torch was provided. Nevertheless we would recommend and re book.

  • "The bed is described on your listing as a kingsize."

This is factually incorrect. It is a standard 4'6" double bed. This matters very much to us as we have one at home. kingsize beds are generally made of 2 independently sprung mattresses so that one partner does not disturb the other when constantly moving through pain, or getting up to go to the toilet. Both get a better sleep. We had intended to complete the coast path but were so tired we were unable to walk at all on 2 days and came home early. I would never have booked this accommodation if I had known, I only ever book places with kingsize beds. (you can check my other bookings with Sykes). The property owners seemed to be lovely, helpful people who obviously work very hard, so I do not understand this deliberate mis-description and breach of trust with their visitors. We feel very let down and unable to trust Sykes again.

Lying outside the centre of the rural village of Boduan on the stunning Llyn Peninsula is this wondrous Grade II listed barn conversion, Nant Bach.

Offering four guests beautiful yet rustic accommodation for a peaceful stay in North Wales, Nant Bach is near to the coastal town of Nefyn, and is perfect for those seeking coastal walks, days on the beach and trips to the sailing centre of Pwllheli.

Set on the owner's charming smallholding and resting next to their large stone farmhouse, Nant Bach welcomes you straight into the traditional kitchen/diner, where oak units and quality appliances like the range cooker in here provide all you need for rustling up some delicious meals, with characterful painted brick and a stylish dining table to sit at, it's perfect for socialising over tasty food and drink.

Take a few steps up atop the original timber floor and discover a homely setting in the sitting room, with lovely furnishings resting beneath the exposed A-frame beams, including a sofa and a sofa bed, allowing two more guests a sleeping spot, you can wind down after a day of rambling by flicking on the Smart TV and lighting the woodburning stove.

From here you can step into the ground-floor bathroom where an antique roll-top bath awaits you for a relaxing soak, with a walk-in shower in here too and a vintage sink unit, along with a second door leading to the charming bunk room, great for children or friends rooming together.

To find the second bedroom, take around nine steps up from the kitchen/diner area and settle within this double bedroom, with quirky sloping ceilings and a deep-set window with views to the greenery outside, it's perfect for cosying up at the end of the day.

Take your canine companion out to your own private lawn to stretch their legs, with this beautiful country setting offering a peaceful escape.

Explore more of this lovely area by visiting the nearby town of Nefyn, situated atop sweeping cliffs looking out to the sea, you can find a host of shops, pubs and cafés here to enjoy, before heading down to the beautiful two-mile stretch of sandy beach to delight in sunbathing before the cute beach huts, taking a dip in the clear blue waters, or taking a stroll and soaking up the views of the distant three peaks of The Rival Mountains to the east.

Discover the often stormy relationship of the peninsula and the sea at the Llyn Maritime Museum, or head to Nefyn's famous golf course set on the headland with players comparing the course to that of playing on the deck of an aircraft carrier, not for the faint hearted!

Make trips to the lovely town of Pwllheli, the 'capital' of the peninsula, and a popular setting for sailing being home to a spectacular marina, one of the best in the UK, as well as a fantastic watersports centre so you can delight in some exciting adventures!

Sail to the waters of Cardigan Bay and the Irish Sea, spotting amazing wildlife along the way on your coastal cruise including seals, seabirds and even dolphins!

Continue to explore this beautiful North Wales spot by embarking on coastal walks along the rugged shorelines and clifftops, as well as visiting more of the charming villages here, like the lovely and fashionable seaside resort of Abersoch, another popular sailing and watersports centre with pretty beaches and a sheltered harbour, you can find excellent bistros and eateries here, as well as opportunities for pony-trekking.

Along with Aberdaron and Bardsey Island, there's plenty to see on this delightful isle, along with the wonders of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and Anglesey within reach as well.
