• "We had a lovely stay here."

  The cottage is even better than described, very clean and cosy with comfy beds. We felt immediately at home there. It's well equipped with everything we needed to make meals. We managed breakfast in the garden on a couple of very mild days and enjoyed the views across the harbour to Snowdon. We mostly just parked on the road but the house has a proper parking space round the back which must be a godsend in summer. Oh, and the fire was just lovely in the evening. It's an easy 15-20 minute walk to the bright lights of Portmadog and there are lovely walks along the coast from the door of the cottage. Loved the whole place. We will be back.

• "This is a lovely, comfortable home, well equipped and warm, with all amenities close at hand."

  The location is ideal, with sea, mountains, wildlife and open space all around you. The view over the bay from the garden is quite beautiful. Finding it is easy, and the parking is convenient. Much thought and care has gone into this idyllic escape and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful retreat.

• "Stayed for three nights in September and it was lovely."

  The property is beautifully maintained and extremely comfortable. The garden area is perfect for sitting out either a meal or just a glass or two. Plenty of information about how everything works and suggestions for local walks which take you down to the stunning coastline. Porthmadog is a fifteen minute walk away and the location is perfect for exploring this beautiful part of the world. Absolutely loved it!

• "Beautifully decorated cottage."

  Very clean and tidy. Lovely view from the garden - unfortunately didn’t get to sit out much due to the weather! Gorgeous location. Lovely and quiet but a cafe/deli bar and restaurant on the doorstep overlooking the beautiful bay and it’s only a 15 minute walk to Porthmadog. We loved our stay in Maenllwyd and would stay again. Would have been good to have a washing machine and iron but I’m guessing that’s due to not having the space and there’s everything else you would need. Thank you for the milk and Welshcakes!

• "Love staying here."

  . It was are second visit this year. It is well equipped..and suits our needs. And tastefully decorated. We did notice a few scrapes around the house namely from the chairs hitting the walls by the window in living room... It is a tight squeeze for more than 2 people! and we were a bit concerned about the towel rails staying on the wall in the bathroom! But they are just little niggles.. The garden area is lovely and it's a plus having parking for the car.

• "Very well equipped."

  High standard of fittings. Track to parking space at rear is a nightmare. The toilet doesn't flush properly, won't take waste away... takes a few flushes which would be a problem for more than 2 people. Telly is hit and miss but that is listed. No phone signal. Apart from that OK.

  Thank you for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage, but I am sorry that you seem to have had a problem with the loo. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I am having it checked. It did however seem to be working fine when I was there after you left, and I wondered if you were using the short flush function rather than the full flush? I will add instructions for future visitors to make sure this can't happen, just in case! Regarding the TV and phone signal, unfortunately this is a problem for most of the village of Borth Y Gest. We hope that you enjoyed the strong WiFi connection which allows guests to make full use of the Smart TV and all the available apps. Property Owner

• "Quaint cosy property with all the facilities you need."

  Great location with the coastal path just round the corner and the harbour just down the road. Porthmadog centre is only a comfortable stroll away. Great views wherever you look. The steep steps and gradients may make it a challenge for those who are less fit or stable but otherwise its perfect.

  The property has everything you need. A really well equipped kitchen. Private parking to the rear is great. Only a short walk to multiple different beaches and the coastal path.
