  • "Wonderful property in a fabulous quiet location."

Close enough to get around to visit places but quiet & private when needed. First class info provided both prior to visit and in cottage. Loved the AGA we made lovely casseroles! Photos don't do this cottage justice I wish I lived there. Our dog loved it and Simon left lots of logs for both fires as well as amazing welcome pack thank you it was so cosy! Springs are starting to go on one of the games room sofas but that's minor and probably due to everyone relaxing in there. Smart TV, games etc. A recliner would make it perfect and my hubbie has already decided where a hot tub would fit! I loved all the little nik-naks and charm. The place is fantastic and such good value. We visited in November and got lots of winter sunshine. We will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing it with us!

!!! Simon the owner was brilliant, from the onset of our stay (to the end) was available, kind & very imformative of the surrounding areas. He was kind enough to let us have the keys earlier if we wanted & text us to say he was available if we needed anything. The cottage itself was quaint & beautiful and easy to find and very picturesque. Beautiful gardens for the dog to run wild in with an al fresco dining area and a barbeque. Inside, was just as beautiful and the games room - what a godsend for those rainy days. Bedrooms where lovely with nice comfy beds. The cottage was clean throughout and to be honest I cant find fault with it all. If anything & this is only small minute niggle was the bathroom was downstairs but this did not stop us having an enjoyable much needed restful holiday. Thank you Simon we will definately visit again.

The cottage has everything anyone could possibly need or want and the gardens were perfect for our pooch. Only advice I would give which Simon (owner) told me was maybe have pooch on lead in grounds through gate. The reason for this is on the right there is only a grass bank no fence. Grass bank is high but if pooch determined! Despite that the main garden is large and secure. Enough space for a G S D We spent all our time in the games/ family room lots to entertain you plus when the log burner going in the evening, very cosy. We did complete 1000 piece jigsaw it was a bit of a challenge lol. It was nice just to take the time to do. Simon greeted us on arrival which made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend a stay.

The communication with the owners prior to our stay was unexpected but so useful. On arrival the Welsh welcome pack was such a delicious touch. Everything about the cottage was just fabulous - the garden and paddock, the log burners, the aga, the barn/awesome games’ room, the pebble dominoes set, the quirky mobile hanging in the barn, the bird feeders by the kitchen window, the stable door, the comfiest beds ever…. The games room was amazing. We've never stayed anywhere with a pool table before! Simon the owner was friendly and engaging and clearly took a lot of trouble to make guests comfortable. Only downside was the number of emails from Sykes Cottages with persistent reminders to keep to the rules of leaving the cottage clean and tidy. Felt a bit overwhelmed with instructions and ended up waking at 6am for a strict 9am departure just to make sure we had cleaned and tidied everything.

It is packed with books and games and the pool table is a bonus. The barn/games room is huge and with its cosy sofas and wood burner, we spent most evenings in this room. The aga in the kitchen meant the house was always warm and welcoming after a long coastal walk - of which there are many on the doorstep. We were warmly welcomed by Simon who has a good knowledge of the area and were given a lovely welcome pack of coffee, tea, milk, butter, cheese, Welsh-cakes and Prosecco. There is also a large supply of logs and coal - it really does feel like a home rather than simply a holiday let which helps you relax from the minute you step into the house. The only thing I’d say - if I was being really picky - is it would benefit from having an additional bathroom upstairs but this wasn’t a massive issue and we will definitely visit again.

We have had many cottage holidays ( normally twice per year ) with our beautiful vizsla girls , and I have to say Simon has given us the best welcome we have ever received .He made us a cup of tea when we arrived after a 6 hour journey and chatted to us about the local area , and best best places to walk with our girls , dog friendly local pubs etc . When we said we were going to Anglesey he suggest Newborough woods which then takes you onto the beach , it was brilliant. The cottage is well stocked with cooking utensils, which is great as we cook everyday. My hubby loved the Aga experience making a banana cake !! . The large enclosed garden is great when the dogs want out late at night without the worry of the road . Simon gave us a call at the start of our holiday just to check everything was ok and said just to call him if we needed to know anything, which is very reassuring. We are definitely going to have another holiday here , the location is good and the walks are fab for anyone with or without a dog . We spent all our time in the games room with the fire on , as it’s a bright cozy room .

The owner had left us with plenty of wood for the week. We spent our evening ( after a meal cooked on/ in the Aga with some extra help from the useful gas hob)playing pool ( badly) or darts ( even worse) or watching surround sound TV on the smart TV we could put our own Netflix account in. The sofas were large and comfortable and the big barn warm despite size. We spent our days walking the beautiful coastline with our 2 dogs. The scenery was stunning and especially vibrant in its autumn colours. The weather was exhilarating. Everything needed was in cottage. It was extremely well equipped. I understand the owner's have not had property long and are still working on it, but it did not detract from its comfort. 10/10 for cleanliness. The owner's were very helpful and communicated local information by text and checked we had arrived safely. The location is great. Peaceful and just isolated enough but within easy driving distance of facilities, beaches, shops. Would recommend the cottage for walkers, dog lovers, families with older children who would enjoy the games room, couples who want a relaxing, fun or romantic break.

Although to the edge of the cliff top is 15 minutes at a fast pace, we could not find what we considered a safe access down the cliff top to the beach. This was disappointing and misleading to imply that the beach was accessible by foot. We even drove to the beach, walked all the way along it, to see if we could find the access point back up the cliffs but there was nowhere which was not literally a vertical climb back up the cliff face; most of which was fenced off along the top.
