  • "We have been holidaying in Abersoch for almost 20 years and the Anchorage is one of the nicest places that we’ve stayed in."

The views were fantastic and the facilities were great. My only concern was the spiral staircase down to the garden. It wasn’t the easiest to use and our dog wouldn’t use it. We had to let her into the garden via the utility room downstairs.

  • "Lovely house."

Meet all our needs. Few points: back bedroom was damp and mattress needs replacing. Decking needs replacing as was rotting in places. Think this may contribute to the damp smell in the room underneath. These were the only things wrong. The whole places was beautiful and stunning views.Great week.

Hi Libby, I am glad you thought the house was lovely, that it met all your needs and you enjoyed the stunning views as much as we do. We have ordered a new mattress for the back bedroom and we have cleared the drains that was causing the musty smell in the bedroom (but we will be refurbishing this room over the winter). We have also filled several decking boards and plan to replace these over winter. Many thanks Jane Property Owner

What an amazing place to stay. Everything you need to make a perfect base for your holiday. Spacious, warm, comfortable and beautifully decorated, and then there are the views. You could sit for hours staring out of the window at the ever changing picture. The combined sea and mountain views are absolutely stunning. We love that you could walk to the village or beach with all the amenities. I really couldn't fault anything and can't wait to come back. Thank you

  • "Our second stay a beautiful wonderful stay."

So good that we have already booked again for next year. This is a home away from home, thank you so much. One thing that would help with the weather that we've just had would be a tumble dryer. But regardless lovely.

  • "Anchorage is a fantastic property, with everything we needed for our week's stay."

It was spotlessly clean and really comfortable, with spectacular views from both the front and back of the house. The only downside was that we hadn't realised how far it was into the town and the beach, not really walkable as the hill is quite steep. That said, though, it would not put us off booking Anchorage again, thoroughly recommended.

Thank you Pat for your feedback. I am glad you had a good stay at The Anchorage and enjoyed the views. It is 0.6 miles from the house to the centre of the village and the Harbour beach but I am glad the walk won't deter you from staying again. Property Owner

  • "Hello. Lovely property and great views."

Lots of kitchen facilities and equipment. We had a wonderful week. Great to have an En suite! Shower room and bathroom. This is a great property. Garden good with nice outside seating and storage. Parking good Friends who were with me felt it was very cold on arrival .. this was early May and nights were cold to start. They were sleeping downstairs and there were instructions not to put the storage heaters on. Towels and washing was hard to dry. No towel rails in bathroom. Surprised to have to pay for bedding and bring own towels.

Thank you for your nice comments about The Anchorage, glad you thought it was a great property. Regarding the heating, the instructions suggest using storage heaters in the winter months as in warmer months, the house can be too warm during the day; this is why there are electric panel heaters in all the bedrooms. Bedding is now included in the price. Property Owner

About the location

ABERSOCH

Pwllheli 6 miles.

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
