  • "Nice pod, lovely location just a pity about the weather!"

    Reviewed by David5.0Sep 2024

  • "Thank you Jo and Sion We had a lovely stay and will recommend you to our friends and our Rotary club etc."

Just 2 things that you might like our feedback on- The lane leading up to your property is not suitable for low slung cars such as our Mazda MX5-We had to crawl at 2mph to avoid grounding heavily due to the raised centre grass strip-I would suggest that you inform people with similar cars of this as I feel it could cause some folk to get annoyed-perhaps if the central strip was levelled off this would solve the problem. The second point is re the directions to the property. We approached on the A55 from the St Asaph direction and lost about an hour trying to find you whereas if we had been instructed to leave at Junction 30 follow the road to the right for a 100 yards or so and then turn left we would have come directly to you in no time at all and conversely if approaching from Chester and leaving at Junction 29 then the directions should read -follow the slip road and turn left and then immediately left over the A55 -that would have been much clearer. Hope you don't mind these suggestions as we really enjoyed our trip and thank you again for your friendliness and help. We hope that Jo is recovering, Very Best Wishes Paul and Penny

  • "We stayed for 4 nights and found the Idris pod to be very clean and comfortable."

We were very lucky and had good weather. It is situated in a very rural, peaceful spot with only 1 other pod which was unoccupied during our stay. The only issue we had was finding the pod and eventually we had to ring the owner after spending ages going up and down little lanes!

The owners could not have been kinder! The pod was small but cosy and had everything we needed. The only problem was finding the site! The directions were accurate, but Satnav sent us the wrong way and confused us . Some photos of landmarks on the way from the A55 might have made it easier. But Sion very kindly drove down and rescued us when we phoned him!

The pod itself is packed with everything you would need for a short stay away. The peaceful location is perfect to switch off and go wondering in the hills, whilst still being close enough to so many of Wales’ towns and attractions. Jo and Sion took great care of us and checked in/ were always available, should we have needed them.

  • "The property is outstanding and exceptionally clean, everything you should want is there."

It is in easy reach of all attractions, but not within a pub or restaurant range, you will have to drive or get a taxi, the owners have left a manual and there is taxi numbers inside, they do have a table top ironing board and iron in the pod, which is not listed, tea coffee and sugar are left, along with washing up liquid and cleaner, there are toiletries in the bathroom for your use. There is a smart tv with a fire stick as described, but if you are a sky go customer, then take your laptop and a hdmi lead, you can watch your sky on the tv, ideal if you have a few rainy days or just want a lazy tv day. The grounds are well kept and there is a decked area with chairs up on the grassed area, which will give you a lovely sunrise and sunset, the hammocks are such a lovely touch and even for an oldie like myself, I thoroughly enjoyed a 5 min swing. The owners are attentive and on hand for anything you may need, but you are pretty much left alone to enjoy your holiday. Well done Jo and Sion, you have an outstanding place and we will be back.

The location is brilliant, 5 minutes to the A55 but it feels like you are miles away from any main road when you arrive at this beautiful secluded spot. The pods are well kept and come equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We took our 2 year old dog and he had plenty of fenced in garden to run around in. Jo was a great host and came down to welcome us after we had settled in. This is an absolute must if you plan to visit North Wales for a few days.

We switched off our phones and forgot about the outside world, playing games, having a bbq (which was kindly provided), sitting on the decking & enjoying the sunshine with some drinks and lazing in the hammocks. We went to Talacre beach which is around a 20 minute drive, we also visited The New Inn pub for lunch which has a lovely outdoor seating area with heated pods and across the road is a beautiful waterfall you can take a lovely stroll around there. Would highly recommend both. There are plenty of local walks & our little dog loved every second of his holiday too. Thankyou for having us Jo, we will be recommending to everybody.

  • "A truly ideal location for a relaxing break."

The Idris Pod was a little bit of luxury with panoramic views of the area and it was well-equipped, including those little extra touches to make things special. I booked this as a surprise for my husband's birthday and we had not stayed in this type of accommodation before, so I was a little nervous about what we would find. However, the whole experience was wonderful and we both loved it! The owners were very helpful and non-intrusive, but were on hand if needed. The pod had everything needed for us to enjoy our 4-night break. A cosy real fire (with plentiful supply of logs), a comfortable bed, reclining sofa to relax and watch a movie or two on the Amazon firestick, or listen to some music on the Amazon Echo. Books galore to cater for every genre and board games/playing cards too. A spotless bathroom with shower and toiletries and a well-equipped kitchen area. Easy access to the M55 from the Pod, which enabled us to travel into the Snowdonia National Park, to the coast and to Anglesey. The scenery was spectacular. We will definitely be re-visiting this wonderful accommodation in the springtime/summer to take advantage of the gardens, walks and hammocks! Thanks to Jo for the welcome pack on arrival too - very thoughtful. A definite 10/10.
