  • "This was a lovely property."

Stuck in the 70s, I absolutely loved its quirkiness. It is set in the most stunning location with views to die for. There is everything you could possibly need in the house (including binoculars!). Plenty of pots, pans, glasses, dishes, cups....everything. It was very clean on arrival and we had a couple of lots of fresh eggs delivered upon request. Would definitely recommend and consider revisiting in future years.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Tai Candryll but we had a couple of issues with facilities."

The cottage has two bathrooms, one with a walk in shower and the second with a shower over bath. The first shower we could not get hot water to run through at all (this made things difficult for my grandad who struggles with mobility) and the second shower held all of the water in the bath as it didn't drain very well meaning the next person to get in if straight after were up to their ankles in another person's shower water! The kitchen accessories are basic in terms of what you've got. There's a lot of locked cupboards in the kitchen and not as many mugs and cups as people. The outhouse attached to the kitchen had an awful smell and the floors throughout these areas were pretty dirty unfortunately. We stayed at Tai Candryll during October but struggled with the cold as the boilers are on times and you can't just turn the heating on whenever so please take plenty of jumpers and woolly socks! Generally tai candryll is a good base for anyone wanting to explore both Llandudno and Snowdonia and it has enough spacious bedrooms to be comfortable for a large group. Despite some of the issues we had we did have a pleasant stay.

The best thing about the property is its location; it is very quiet but handy for lots of attractions and the view is absolutely spectacular.

  • "We had a fantastic long weekend at Tai Candryll."

It was the perfect base for a trip up Snowdon and was cosy and comfortable to come back to after a long day of walking. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed (apart from a set of kitchen scales). Both Sykes and the owner were very quick at responding to queries.

  • "Only issue we had was with our initial booking."

This was made via a tripadivsor link, which allowed us to make a booking, take our money, only to find out when no receipt was forthcoming that this property was not actually available. However after I called Sykes direct to find out what was going on, your staff were very helpful in finding me another property and to be honest probably a more suitable one for us. Some issues initially with the heating in that the weather had turned very cold for late May but the heating didnt come on until 8pm and the controls are locked away. But after contacting the owner direct, they were very willing to come in and adjust the heating clock for us. The owner was also super prompt in returning our bond.

About the location

LLANRWST

Betws-y-Coed 4 miles; Conwy 10 miles.

Llanrwst is a thriving market town which stands in the beautiful Conwy Valley, only four miles from picturesque Betws-y-Coed, known as the 'Gateway to Snowdonia' and which is North Wales's most popular inland resort. Surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country, this is a haven for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. At Betws-y-Coed the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, and the beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. Most famous of all are the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm. The village has shops, pubs, places to eat, miniature railway, a riverside golf course and the Woodland High Rope Activity Centre, and is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, as well as being the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley which leads to the coast and the lovely towns of Llandudno and Conwy.
