"We didn't want to go home!"
The cottage was cosy and so peaceful, the views were amazing. The beds and sofa were comfy. The garden was ideal for our dog, Miss Piggy, she loved walking along the lane too which was lovely and quiet. Thank you for the milk and welsh cakes, they were a treat after a long drive. We will definitely be back.
-
"I beautiful located property on the edge of the forest and lovely view of hills."
Lovely secure garden for the dog. The cottage itself was a comfortable with everything you need. Loved this place. Definitely on the list to for return visit.
-
"A lovely little cottage, in a peaceful setting, ideally located to explore the area."
Betws y Coed can supply all you need for your stay. Welsh cakes on arrival were a welcome bonus! Highly recommended.
-
"Booked as I was running a race over Yr Wyddfa and turning it into a family holiday."
With a 3 year old we really appreciated working wifi, dishwasher, hoover, secure outdoor space and the washing machine. The view from the garden was amazing! Only downside was the volume of skinny spiders in the cottage. Grateful for access to the hoover!
-
"We had a great stay in this cosy cottage despite the weather."
Perfect location, comfy beds. Have booked again.
-
"A lovely cottage very quiet and peaceful."
Enjoyed my stay very much.
-
"We had a really great stay - thank you!"
From the moment we arrived, we found the way the cottage was presented showed you we're giving us a great level of care, we appreciated the little things like milk in the fridge, some food (cakes), provided clean dry towels and cleanliness of the cottage. Having a dog, it was great to find that the entire fence line was well secured, the grounds clean and well maintained. Our dog also enjoyed the stay and was viably upset to leave and be back home. We look forward to our next stay, so again thank you. Frank, Caroline, Megan & Saffy

"This was our second visit to this property."
The property is well equipped, the addition of dishwasher.fridge freezer and a large television make this property a home from home. The location is superb very quiet yet a mile from the nearest pub. All in all a superb property to spend a holiday in North Wales.
-
"I really enjoyed my home from home it had everything you need comfort a view to die for plenty of room etc ."
The only thing I would have liked to see in summer is comfier garden chairs the bench a bit hard to sit on . Other than that I would return and recommend

Wonderful hosts who were there when we arrived showed us around the property Nice welcome pack coffee tea Welsh cakes Spotlessly clean cottage and everything you could need Very very peaceful and quiet and a great log burner Perfect :)

"Had a wonderful time, a truly peaceful and restful break for us."
We were a little cold this time just because of the weather and takes a while for the house to heat up. We still loved it though.
-
"Beautiful holiday cottage, in the most wonderful setting."
Very comfortable, clean, and with everything we needed for a week away!.
-
"Lovely little cottage, the owners are very helpful if needed."
Picturesque setting. We went for a quiet chilled rest to recharge are batteries with our two dogs and was not disappointed. Kim, Rob, Archie and Woody

"As we arrived at the property, the owners were actually there preparing the cottage, they couldn’t have been more helpful, giving us a guided tour, explaining everything we needed to know."
The cottage kept us safe throughout storm Isha that occurred that weekend, we felt very safe and cosy. Set in a beautiful landscape, surrounded by trees and hills and mountains. Lovely garden, Our dog enjoyed exploring everything.
-
"Absolutely amazing place, beautifully converted barn amidst stunning scenery."
Everything you would need is provided. I never go back to places I have stayed but I think I would go back here. I imagine it is magical in the summer.
-
"Brilliant location away from it all but close enough to get to the local pub ( a heads up for next visitors it’s closed for refurbishment until March) The cottage was clean and easy to keep warm!"
The location is absolutely beautiful mountains waterfalls wildlife. We had a lovely break and would definitely recommend to people who enjoy peace and quiet not too far from civilisation if you want it. There is good internet but very poor mobile signal not at all on vodaphone I would recommend a sign to the property at the very top of the drive rather than on the gate…it is not an easy place to find especially in the dark as it is down well from the road.
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in a lovely tranquil setting."
The weather was very cold during our stay, so not so much opportunity to sit in the garden and enjoy the view of the mountains. But it did mean we got full benefit of the log burning stove, which kept the place toasty morning & night. Excellent facilities provided. Plenty of good walks right on the doorstep, so good to not have to drive far, if at all, for a day out. Good local facilities in Betws-y-Coed. Only suggestion would be to add a colander to the kitchen equipment. Highly recommended.
-
"Cottage is in a quiet picturesque area and only few mins drive into Betws-Y-Coed."
And 20 ish minutes to snowdon. Full facilities in the cottage even down to a USB plug. Main bedroom has a double bed & a wardrobe, and is a good sized room, just ashame the smaller room is a little cramped with a single bed & bunk bed plus 1 x wardrobe. Ok for 3 kids but not if it's a group of adults! Also got a washing machine & tumble dryer. Ample parking on own private grounds. The cottage is very clean apart from a lot of cobwebs & skinny long legged spiders in missed places, maybe its due to what the country side has to offer and wet weather. Nothing a long handled feather duster couldn't fix. Oh the cooker no instructions to be found but to use the cooker, it's the icon with the = 2 lines, and heat for a good 15 mins then your good to cook. I'd definitely recommend this property if your looking for a quiet location & dog friendly. Lovely friendly owners, and only a phone call away if you need them for anything.
-
"Complimentary Welsh Cakes, coffee and milk were thoughtful and much valued, especially after busy motorways prolonged our arrival journey."
The view from the garden furniture should be framed, a beautiful mountain setting. The property fuses traditional and modern features seamlessly to make your stay both comfortable and transformative. 10/10
-
"Lovely stay in a beautiful little cottage."
The dogs loved as did we. Would definitely return.
-
"Our 3rd time at this beautiful cottage, everything we needed."
We couldn't ask for better, very well equipped. So clean, and well stocked cutlery, plates etc. We will be going back again.Mr&Mrs Williams so helpful each time we have met them.

"Our second time staying at Bythyn Ddol Hafod and it was just perfect!"
Lovely location! great for peace and quiet and a perfect location for heading out on day trips and walks. The accommodation was very clean and tidy with everything that you may need on your holiday already there, with a big secure garden so if you have got a dog like we did (or children) it's ideal We will definitely be booking another stay again next year.
-
"Absolutely loved this cottage very peaceful, clean and very well equipped."
Owners were very nice and helpful. We will be back 100%
-
"Very difficult to fault."
Two suggestions a boot remover and some means for sharpening kitchen knives. They are probably in the property but could not find. It’s seems churlish to criticise because it really is a terrific place to stay. Could the owners do anything about the weather. I think they have in supplying a great log burning stove and excellent wood, never underestimate the pleasure of watching a log fire burning, better than watching television. Well done!
-
"Beautiful cottage with stunning views, Log burner was amazing and kept us warm and cozy, The beds were really comfy and everything you need was there, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay so much, That on the day of our return we have booked to go again."
-
"Lovely location, lovely cottage and setting, clean and with everything you could need."
Owners were super responsive to any queries we had. Really could not ask for more!
-
"Lovely cottage, in a great quiet position central for good walks and touring."
-
"A well equipped cottage in a beautiful peaceful setting."
Perfect for a ‘get away from it all’ break.
-
"Beautiful Ben conversion in a fantastic secluded location, but close to all the main sights and experiences that Snowdonia has to offer."
The barn was absolutely lovely, very cosy, clean and well facilitated with everything you may need. Comfy beds, warm shower, tv with sky, kitchen with oven/fridge etc. All really great. Private enclosed area (gated with secure perimeter fencing), meant no worries letting the kids and doggies run around and have fun in the spacious grounds of the barn. Would love to stay again with my family.
-
"We had an amazing holiday."
Brilliant location and cottage was very clean. We already booked again for next year.
-
"Perfect, peaceful, great location."
-
"Our second visit to this wonderful little cottage and certainly won't be our last."
Superb location and everything we needed. 10/10! Thanks ❤️
-
"Perfect location and a perfect property."
Could find no fault with anything. Near enough to Betws-Y-Coed but still enjoying the peace and tranquility of being in the country and away from the hustle and bustle. Excellent walks nearby. Added bonus of having a swallow nest outside the front door, hope Baby Bird is still doing great.

Nice cottage in beautiful, rural environment everything you need is available The only thing we missed were windows in the living room to look outside (the only windows in the living room are in the ceiling)
-
"Fantastic cottage, better than our expectations."
Owner very helpful, friendly and duper efficient when the shower broke. Highly recommend Skyes cottages and in particular this one.

"Beautifully furnished cottage equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay."
Very warm and cosy, even during the storms we experienced, with the log fire and heater in bedrooms.our second visit was just as relaxing as out first, we can't wait for our next visit.

"This is the second time at this property we had a great time everything you ..."
This is the second time at this property we had a great time everything you need is there the owners left milk coffee Welsh cakes and left heaters on for when we arrived myself my husband and our 2 dogs had a lovely time
-
"This cottage was simply fantastic, the owners provided all the support prior to arrival and were on hand if any queries needed sorting."
The owners also had electric heaters on in all the rooms to provide the instant warmth as we entered. The cottage was easy to find despite its isolated location with good perimeter security especially for dogs. The cottage was cosy with plenty of logs and kindling and within minutes of lighting the wood burner, the cottage was warm. Finally a great little cottage, perfectly located for both dog walking, hill trekking or cycling from the doorstep. Easy access both North, East South & West due to its closeness to the A5. Thank you very much!
-
"Excellent stay in outstanding accommodation."
.... Great few days
-
"Nice cottage in a lovely quiet location, but a bit difficult to find in the dark."
-

-
"Really nice cottage with plenty of amenties in a superb location, would highly recommend"
-
"We had an amazing week here."
Everything we could have asked for, cottage very clean, enjoyed the Welsh cakes. It is the ideal place to get away from it all, great base for lovely walks, our dogs really enjoyed the garden, as did we, the view is stunning. We will be going back. In fact, we didn't want to come home. Thank you
-
"An outstanding cottage in the best location we could not really find fault."
So special we will return. Regards Jeremy
-
"We had a very good week in beautiful and very quiet surroundings at Bythyn Ddol Hafod."
There is a stunning view of Moel Siobod from the garden which feels very peaceful and sheltered. We didn't need the wood burning stove, but I imagine it's quite a feature and belts out the heat when it's cold. It's only a 20 minute walk up to the café at Ty Hyll (the Ugly House) on the A5 where they do some cracking snacks (the Welsh cakes are particularly recommended). It's a slightly longer walk the other way to the hotel/pubs in Capel Curig. A great spot for exploring Snowdonia with easy access to the main roads or walks straight from the door. Beware of the drainage ditches along the lane though!
-
"The location is absolutely stunning, felt completely isolated yet just a short drive to the beautiful town."
The cottage was just perfect. There was literally everything you could possibly need including a much appreciated fan, although surprisingly it was not as hot as I would have thought inside dispite the heatwave. We all loved it, can't recommend it enough and definitely plan a return visit, but perhaps with a long stay in this home away from home.
-
"The cottage could be so much better with just a bit more attention to detail and cleanliness."
Not really big enough for four adults and two dogs. Great location and so nearly there. Must be prepared to live close to the wildlife. Especially the spiders and the mouse. Keep food well protected, but on the plus side we were not bothered by the flies you usually get in remote locations.
-
"Amazing location, lovely cottage with all we needed with large fenced off garden for the dogs, and the owners were great (thanks for the tea and biscuits etc, much appreciated after epic drive to get there!"
). Beautiful location with amazing views and walking paths all around and very easy to get to Snowden. Nice pub nearby too. We'll book this cottage again.
-
"I had read a previous report on this property which complained of uncleanliness."
I discounted this as some people can get very fussy about this (I am not one of them). However, this was also our experience. In particular, the large rug in the sitting area had not been hoovered and was filthy, the kitchen sink and bath were not clean, I didn't want to use the frying pan and oven trays because of their condition and the kitchen table had not been wiped down which, given the current C-19 situation, is frankly unacceptable. Separately, the kitchen was not well equipped which is unusual for a Sykes property. In particular, there was only one frying pan (discinclined to use), a sieve that was too small for a larger group (and had a hole in it) and no salad bowl.

"We had a lovely week at this property everything we needed was there the lovely ..."
We had a lovely week at this property everything we needed was there the lovely owners even left milk Welsh cakes coffee couldn't of asked for a better holiday lovely comfy beds great secure garden for our dogs lovely scenery and walks on the doorstep will definitely return
-
"The cottage was very well equipped."
I had to use the door step to sharpen the kitchen knives. It would have been nice to have a window in the sitting room. These are minor details. The seating was very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. Thanks for the milk, tea and sugar. I would highly recommen this cottage to stay in, wonderful!
-
"Great place to stay in a great location."
We have stayed here many times and will no doubt stay here again.
-
"Cottage was lovely its the second time we have visited."
Its a really good base for visiting the area but in a quiet position. I would especially like to thank the owners for leaving lights and heaters on in the main living area so that it wasnt pitch black and cold when we arrived.
-
"Absolutely stunning location (mountain view in garden), cottage has everything you need and is ideal for dogs."
Good wifi and phone signal. Beds very comfortable. Great base for exploring Snowdonia and surrounding areas. The Ugly house cafe just up the road on the A5 was a welcome treat. We definately plan to return next summer.

"The kitchen was filthy, and I mean filthy, when i opened the oven door everything ..."
The kitchen was filthy, and I mean filthy, when i opened the oven door everything was covered in thick dirty grease, microwave wasn't much better, fridge hadn't been cleaned properly either, everywhere was grimey, all the rooms had cobwebs in them, which by the looks off them had been there for weeks and weeks, bathroom wasn't to bad,but not a 100%the garden area was just a shambles, the garden was overgrown, and the patio was covered in moss,as indicated in the picture the garden looked very pretty, but there were no plants in pots anywhere,I was totally disappointed by my holiday, couldn't relax in the property at all,did see the owner, and told him how disappointed I was with his property, and he said he would get it sorted, never saw him again,i am a pensioner and saved hard for this holiday, but was a real let down, the cottage was set in a lovely quiet area, but for me it was a absolutely holiday from hell,I have used Sykes Cottages before and not had any problems with them, but this place was 100% awful,I won't be using them again unless I can be guaranteed a clean property, from a very very unhappy

"Great location and cottage"
-
"The Cottage was situated in a perfect place, near all you wanted to visit."
-
"Lovely cottage, great facilities and well located."
We had to arrive late which was easily arranged. The cottage was great - all facilities you would need for a trip and owner very friendly to chat to over phone.
-
"We enjoyed our stay at this property."
Had all that we wanted, including constant hot water, was warm and cosy, a washing machine and tumble dryer, a fully enclosed garden for our dogs and the bed was very comfortable. Situated in an ideal position to explore North Wales.
-
"Great location."
Well equipped cottage with all the comfort you need. Love this place.
-
"A simply stunning location, could not ask for better."
Cottage is comfortable and well equipped. Would recommend to walkers and lovers of North Wales and all it has to offer.
-
"The cottage is very cosy although a bit difficult to find at the first time."
Glad we met the owner on our way and being pointed to the right direction. The cottage has got everything and made us feel like home. The only problem is that it’s cold (we stayed in mid April 2019 and the temperature was around -2 to 10 degrees Celsius) and the radiators are not powerful to warm up the rooms. Otherwise the cottage is excellent and worth a stay over there. Highly recommended.
-
"The cottage was perfect ideally situated for amazing walks and local pub."
Piece and quite just what we were looking for. Would highly recommend it.
-
"We were extremely grateful for the welcome pack after a long drive, especially the local Welsh cakes - much more thoughtful than a pack of ordinary biscuits - and the real milk, rather than the tiny pots."
On the day after our arrival the area had tremendous floods and Mr Williams, the owner, kindly paid us a visit to ensure we were coping in the inclement weather and to assure us that he was available if we needed anything. Nice personal touch. One potential issue for people not used to lighting a wood burner is that unless this is lit the living area relies on two electric heaters which might not be warm enough in the depths of winter. We were fine but we needed to replenish wood stocks from the nearby village, Betws-y-Coed, after a couple of days. The cottage was delightful and the secluded location perfect for those looking for peace, quiet and tranquillity. Really off the beaten track but only a mile from the main A5. Only neighbours were sheep just over the wall and the spectacular snowy owl that we saw flying through the woods opposite the cottage on the final evening. As keen walkers we enjoyed a range of local walks from the door, including Moel Siabod (recommended if you like the high Fells of the Lake District), over the hill above the A5 to two picturesque lakes (Crafnant and Geirionydd), the tracks to Dolwyddelan and Betws-y-Coed and a ten minute drive to access the Pyg and Miners' tracks up Snowdon. We also had a day exploring the unbeatable open sands and dunes south of Harlech. An amazing week and can't wait to return - hiraeth i'm wlad.
-
"Lovely Barn conversion in an ideal location , pretty well equipped and warm enough for our mid February break (lit the log burner every evening ) only addition I would suggest is a p."
I.r lamp outside for those evenings when you get home in the dark , not a complaint just a suggestion . Great place . Mr Weaver from Bristol
-
"Lovely cottage would definitely recommend and would stay again"
-
"This cottage is a delight if you love a little isolation especially with your dog, situated in some lovely scenery & a large dog safe garden ."
The only thing to be prepared for is (In very cold weather & of course we expected it in February) it is useful to know that heating the kitchen / lounge is more reliant on the multi fuel stove & extra fuel may need to be purchased to sustain this. Also of course the ability to light it. None of this was a problem but just useful to know. The cottage is very comfortable throughout & would love to re visit!
-
"Great location ."
Bed were really comfy and the place was cosy and warm .shower could do with an upgrade but was adequate. In all a great holiday cottage
-
"Excellent location for a walking holiday, quietly tucked away but a short distance to either Capel Curig or into the hills for walking."
Appreciated the fact it was dog friendly and good WIFI also.

-

Perfect location for all the lovely local walks.
-
"Lovely cottage in an ideal location"
-
"The owner went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable, even supplying an extra fan for the hot weather."
This was a lovely isolated cottage with good facilities, cosy and a great retreat in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. An Ideal location to explore the wonders of North wales.
-
"The cottage was not clean at all ."
The double bedroom we can not use there where too many mosquitos(1000). The furnuture in the pictures was not there is was even older. The mold was in the kitchen en bathroom. However the location was beautifull.
-
"Sykes as a holiday company I cannot fault."
...you give very good company service and any staff I spoke to were very helpful and pleasant to talk to,unfortunately this particular cottage was not as clean as I would have expected...there was thick grease around cookerhood, the freezer compartment door of the fridge did not close due to build up of ice and there were cobwebs around the windows.I don’t wish to be negative but if your customers are not honest regarding a review then there is no point to them. We have been to North Wales before, and hope to visit again using Sykes Cottages again.
-
"The cottage location is pretty unique and beautiful."
It is always lovely and warm and The beds are comfortable. Each time we return improvements continue to have been made. The grass would benefit from being cut. Mr Williams is very responsive to any problems. We have been to the cottage several times and wouldn't hesitate to return. Ideal cottage for dog owners.
-
"Cozy, quiet cottage in great location."
Will keep coming back!

"We had a really good week at this cottage."
It was just what we wanted, our daughter ran in the Snowdonia marathon so it was a great start to the week. I cannot fault the cottage or the helpfullness and welcome of Mr Williams. I will recommend this cottage and someday we will hopefully return. Diolch yn fawr iawn. Henry and Kath Jones

"All of the holiday was great thank you"
-
"The location was great."
Away from everyone but within easy access of places to visit. Mr Williams was a very helpful person. We enjoyed the swifts coming and going in their nest just by the entrance door, and seeing the chicks. An ideal location for young an old.
