  • "Location of the cottage and the area of Cemaes Bay was very good, the whole area was very dog friendly."

The cottage was very clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The tv package needs upgrading, very limited choice. The shower cubical is very small, shower works fine and the stoned area in the yard is not perfect for dogs. We had a very enjoyable stay for 4 nights.

This traditional Welsh cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need for your stay. The local pub, shops and chippy are within a stone’s throw. Only a few minutes walk to the beach. Would recommend.

Beautiful coastal town. All equipment you need in the kitchen to make your stay easy to cook from home. Bed was really comfy. Great WiFi connection to keep the kids happy. Owner easy to contact and quick to remedy a small issue we had. Just needs a little decorating over the winter to maintain.

  • "Potentially, a perfect little cottage in an excellent location for a dog friendly holiday."

Some nice items of decoration spoilt by too much unnecessary clutter. Artificial flowers draped round the handrail do not help with safety of stairs. Regulation of shower was easier when we increased the water pressure. Surprisingly there was no facility to recycle rubbish. Fabulous clean, large fridge freezer. Beautifully clean cottage and a lovely comfortable bed. Thank you for a great week in a friendly village.

  • "The cottage was clean and well equipped."

No directions on what to do with recycling waste items so had to use the 'black' bin. Regrettably the shower in the bathroom was not what we would expect. There was no way to regulate temperature comfortably and water was either scalding or freezing with nothing in between. This does need some attention. Otherwise, walks and local facilities were good with many useful pamphlets in the cottage..

  • "We had a wonderful time at the cottage."

Really comfortable and fabulous location. So many lovely walks near by and a beautiful beach. Would definitely stay again and recommend this to friends. Just a suggestion to sort out the exposed wires in the living room under the window for safety reasons as these could be dangerous. And possibly list on the site that the stairs are quite steep for elderly people or people with mobility issues. Thanks

  • "Had an enjoyable stay at Corner Cottage."

It's 'compact' but perfectly ok for two, right in the centre of the village and close to the beach, shops and pubs. Everything was where it should be and clean and tidy. Worth noting that it fronts onto the road (not unusual for Welsh villages) and so it does get some low level noise from both traffic and pedestrians and you need to be aware when stepping out with the dog. Street parking is limited but there is a large, free, car park less than 100 yards from the rear of the cottage so there was never any issue parking. Cemaes Bay is nice, very dog friendly, small convenience store 3 pubs and an excellent chippy!

  • "A lovely little cottage, with plenty of character!"

We really enjoyed our stay, and our host was great (even when the electrics tripped while cooking dinner one evening!) The cottage was quite 'floral' and busy, with ornaments and nic-nacs around the place, which we were happy to cope with but some might find it very 'busy' in a small space. The small room bed was VERY soft too. But, it was clean, comfortable, handy for the beach, local pubs and the rest of the island, and well appointed, and we'd happily stay again if we were in the area.

Such a great location - the beaches, the little coves, the cliff walks, the ancient church, the local pubs, great little chippy, lovely shops - and great people. Thank you. We will be back! X

  • "Property was perfect."

. minor problem was the electrics fusing .. otherwise excellent. Superb location, beautiful decor and all in all a marvellous holiday property. Unfortunately we lost the key on the Sunday pm ....we were unable to access the property and were unable to contact SYKES at all. We left messages on answerphones to no avail. We still haven't heard from them and for all they know we could still be standing outside Corner Cottage ! Shocking treatment . After enquiring in local shops and pubs we eventually found someone who knew the owner....she very kindly came and left another key. But SYKES were appalling.

We had a really enjoyable few days. There is everything you could possibly need in the property, really clean and comfortable. The beach is just at the end of the road, lots of great dog walks, a couple of pubs, chippy a few doors down, and a nice little shop for any essentials you might need. Although it was after 4.00p. We thought the cleaners hadn't finished so we went out and came back an hour later but they were still there. I contacted your office to tell them but have not had any response from you. Very disappointed in Sykes Cottages. The cottage is small but very clean and has everything you need. Fresh bedding and towels were appreciated. Enclosed back yard was handy for our dog too. My only negative comment would be around too much chintz in the living room, but that’s down to my personal taste!
