  • "We were 5 ladies aged 52-78 staying for a weekend at the races."

The arrival information was perfect, the place was perfectly equipped and clean throughout. Beds comfy and quiet and the views spectacular. Everything was absolutely perfect and we would hope to rebook again ASAP. Thank you so much for letting us stay longer on Sunday. It really made the weekend as we managed a walk around the city walls in between rain showers and had somewhere to leave our bags before departure. Warmest wishes Amanda

Rachel, the owner, was always available for any questions and even helped us retrieve a lost make up bag after our stay. The accommodation was very well equipped and full of character. The location and views were perfect and would recommend it to anyone looking to get a true experience of Chester. We stayed with 3 children and there was plenty of space for everyone and the kids all loved the quirks of the older property. Found the kitchen really easy to cook in as well despite there being so much choice for local eateries. Great stay and would definitely come again.

  • "We booked this apartment in Chester for a last minute short break and were really glad we did."

The apartment had everything we needed. Well equipped and comfortable its location was second to none. Right on the city wall overlooking the river and the Old Dee Bridge. Come out of the front door, turn left along the wall and after a short walk you are at the Groves or carry on a little further and you are in the centre of the city with its famous double decker shops. Loads of excellent restaurants and pubs but we would like to recommend La Fattoria Italian restaurant. Organized chaos but so glad we booked ahead and an excellent night out. The quiz night at Telford's Warehouse was also very good. Thanks to Rachel for making our break memorable for all the right reasons. Hopefully we will be back sooner rather than later.

  • "Excellent stay."

Lovely place. Perfect location and view. Great communication with the owner. Would suggest adding the full details in the listing about short term parking details in Lower Bridge St. and also needing to park elsewhere. Also suggest adding the full details about Grosvenor parking (best option £10/day) or Little Roodee (£8-13/day -- NOT always just £8/day) options. It took me lots of research to determine the fees and logistics - Chester Council Parking Dept. had no clue when I called them. Grosvenor is very easy parking. Central and only 5 mins walk from flat. No ticket needed at all. NOTE -- we accidently saved a LOT of money at Grosvenor parking when we left the car park (and paid) on a day trip but returned to the car park before the actual 24 hour paid-up time on our receipt for the previous payment. We were only charged for 1 hour for the next few days of parking!

  • "Just got back from a week at Dee Heights, excellent location on city walls 2 minute walk to centre."

After a 7 hour journey due to hold ups on motorways we arrived to a welcoming warm apartment, thank you Rachel. Apartment very well equipped, beds comfortable, bathrooms very clean, TV set up best we have ever had in a rental with Sky movies, Sky sports and Netflix. No parking so we paid £28 for parking for the week a 10 minute walk away which as we had quite a bit of bad weather was a bit of a pain, I think in the winter next time we would pay more to get parking a bit nearer. We turned off boiler at night as it's in one of the bedrooms which worked for us but maybe a problem for others. We ate at our favourite restaurants, there are many to choose from and travelled to Old Trafford twice for matches. Views from the windows at front of property are stunning and we would definitely return hopefully in the summer!

It belonged to the owner's mother and you can tell how much the place still means to the family. The views are outstanding and the apartment itself is well equipped. You actually feel you don't want to leave, but it is nice to step out onto the city walls and soak up the history of Chester. There are two steep staircases with quite narrow treads and you may also want to note that you cannot drop your things off immediately outside the apartment - it's about a 30-40 metre walk from limited stay parking on the street so it keeps you fit on arrival and departure! This did not detract from our stay. When I stayed, the car park at the racecourse was closed but I parked at the Grosvenor multi storey at £10 a day. Rachel, the owner, is incredibly helpful. I am hoping to come back at some point.

Lierally righ on the city wall, overlooking the river Dee. We had dood weather, so sitting on the balcony in the evening was really nice.More than enough in the way of equipment and facilities, with a well stocked kitchen; large widescreen smart TV, good wifi. The chocolates and sparkling wine on arrival were a nice touch. Would definitely come again. One minor downside was the lack of parking. Only option was £8 per day at a nearby public car park. Not really a problem, and difficult to see an alternative for a city center location.

A bottle of bubbly was waiting for us on arrival, which was a lovely touch. There is no parking nearby which was a problem in offloading and loading the car and be prepared to pay upwards of £8 per day in the nearest car park. The games room is basically a shelf of games etc so this was slightly misleading but not an issue for us. The interior is partially refurbished to a high standard and it appears to be work in progress with the remaining rooms. Rachel was lovely and helpful when we asked what to do with our refuse/recycling.We loved staying there, it suited our needs perfectly and we would definitely return.

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry you had issues with parking. I can confirm that there is free parking everyday nearby after 6pm and on a Sunday all day. 30 minutes parking is available close by on Lower Bridge Street during the day which would be sufficient for unloading the car. The car park I advise my guests of is £5 all day so I am not sure which one you used. I hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise and I am glad you would be happy to return. Property Owner
