"Absolutely stunning property cannot fault it in anyway"
-
"Really lovely place, easy to find and everything we needed"
-
"Lovely barn with everything you need."
There are fantastic walks from the front door, a lovely village with plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops just 1 mile (15 minute walk) up the road. A nice pub just 5 minutes away with good food and dog friendly. The owner was very welcoming, we will definitely return.

"My two sons and our dog spent a great weekend here in July."
The cottage is beautiful and there was plenty of space for us all. The scenery is amazing and it is very quiet at night so definitely one for a good nights sleep. Cottage had everything we wanted which for two teenage boys was good WiFi and the hot tub!? Would definitely recommend and come back.
-
"A brilliant week spent exploring the area."
So easy to get to different walks, with stunning views. The cottage was lovely. Plenty of space. Could do with a bit more crockery and the downstairs mattress not comfortable and needs replacing. But everything else was great. Including the weather, local pub the Yew Tree, and trips to Ludlow and Ironbridge. Our dogs loved every minute also.
-
"Another lovely stay at the Old Barns."
The situation is stunning and we really had the best of it with beautiful weather. Thank you
Thanks for the great feedback always appreciated. Property Owner
-
"Perfect, comfortable accomodation in a quiet location but right in the middle of lovely walks with views and pretty towns with independent shops."
Thanks for great feedback, much appreciated, hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

"We had a beautiful stay here for 2 nights."
Ideally located near Church Stretton with plenty of shops, restaurants and walks up Long Mynd. The cottage was comfortable, beautifully decorated and furnished. We would stay again. The garden area with the babbling Brook was a great surprise and perfect for the kids to play in. The area is quiet, and it was lovely to wake up to the sound of the birds chirping. The sheep and lambs were a welcome addition in the field next door. The water was not hot in the downstairs shower room so showers were very short! Other than that, we have bo complaints.
Thanks for the great feedback, glad you had a lovely time, hope to see you again. Property Owner

"The cottage was clean, location peaceful."
Hot tub was brilliant but could do with a little more privacy. The downstairs bed room and the twin bedrooms beds were very uncomfortable. The shower wasn’t very hot. It was a nice little break with friends but returned home very tired.
-
"Good stay…."
the downside was that noise carries so clearly right through the cottage. It’s like being in the same room
-
"Property had some problems with plumbing radiators in bathroom didn't work at all Witch made showers for children cold."
The shower is run off a combi boiler if you turn the pressure down it gets hotter. Thank you for the feedback. Property Owner

"Lovely cosy stay."
With Christmas decorations and trees put up for our stay. As well as welcome gifts. Very appreciated. Living rooms comfortable and kitchen nice. Hot tub was lovely (Cover very heavy to take off and difficult to put back on as there isn’t much room round the side to do it). The hot tub is checked every day for chemicals etc. Which is fab. Nice pub not far for a nice meal. House lovely and warm. (Bad points: *Bedroom downstairs has dirty carpet unfortunately. Not nice at all. *Shower would not get warm. Hot water doesn’t work so couldn’t have a bath. Water would get luke warm, Then occasionally get roasting hot for a couple of seconds then go lukewarm at best again. *No drawers or anything at all in bedrooms. Apart from the downstairs befroom. There is room to put some sort of drawers on the sides of bedroom or even outside the bedroom upstairs. *The WiFi is not great. *The TV signal is not good and watching TV Christmas Day was disappointing as the picture kept scrambling). *TV remotes are awkward to use as you have to swap signal from one to another. There are instructions but it takes a while to do). *Bathrooms could do with a makeover.

"Accommodation clean and spacious and we loved the hot tub."
Unfortunately we could clearly smell the dogs of previous occupants and barking dogs at No 2 disturbed us - the occupants at No1 had to curtail their stay because of this and were VERY unhappy. Directions to the Old Barn were poor - we were walking from Church Stretton train station and getting there was stressful although we got to know the buses. Also we couldn't work out how to use the microwave. Old Barn is very much for car owners. However the Long Mynd and surrounding area was spectacular.
-
"Very good standard of accommodation in a lovely spot."
Ideal for a short break and extremely dog-friendly: good value for money. Our autistic son (22) loved the hot tub, reliable wi-fi and comfy beds! Second visit in three years and everything remained at the same high standard.
-
"The property was not up to standard with cleanliness."
Towels smelt strange, sink hole was brown, shower cubicle had black mould inside. The Duvet’s and pillows were of poor quality compared with other cottages we have stayed at. Needs a dressing table where you can plug in a hairdryer. A welcome pack with some basics like milk etc is what we are used to and nothing was left. Hot tub area was really in a sad state so we didn’t use it. The place felt tardy needs updating in our opinion. We left a day early which was a real shame. Price doesn’t reflect what we paid for.
-
"Lovely barn conversion, very cosy and more spacious than the pictures give it credit for."
Had a wonderful break, gorgeous hilly walks followed by a pint at the very close local and then a dip in the hottub - which although outside the front door in the courtyard was very private still. Felt like we were away from it all even though just over am hour away from home, will definitely be back to discover more of this amazing part of the country.
-
"Lovely holiday place with character and charm in a beautiful setting."
Dog friendly but visitors should be aware that 2 of the 3 bedrooms are out of bounds to dogs. Could do with a grater and another oven tray but probably most people eat out as the friendly pub is only a few minutes walk away and Church Stretton has delightful eateries.
-
"We had the loveliest break, beautiful scenery all around and a comfortable place to stay."
The hot tub was a big hit! We will be back.
-
"A very pleasant barn conversion in a beautiful part of England."
A good supply of information about the property and the locality, was on hand. The owners were easily contactable - we had a concern about the jacuzzi settings. Some of us missed having more surfaces and hooks to put washing paraphernalia on / hand clothes from in the downstair bathroom. Others were more relaxed - and who could blame them for being so. Staying there was a real treat in terms of getting away from the crazy city life elsewhere.
-
"We had a fabulous stay at number 4."
The accommodation was in a fabulous position with fields and rural views and the sheep were a bonus. The found it was a fantastic spot for exploring the surrounding areas of Ludlow and enjoyed Carding Mill Valley. The accommodation was dog friendly and we would certainly recommend to others. The hot tub was the icing on the cake.
-
"Although we very much enjoyed our stay at Old Barn 4 maybe a couple of chests of drawers to store clothes in during our stay might have been useful."
I appreciate that the walls in the two upstairs bedrooms are sloping but you can get low chests of drawers which would have fitted in well. Also whilst I appreciate the difficulties of covid etc, a few old books and games might have been useful. Finally, the instructions on waste and recycling were extremely vague or non existant so we didn't really know what went where with what. Apart form that, we had a lovely time and would recommend the cottage. Thank you
-
"Beautiful place set in fantastic scenery."
Hopefully return soon
-
"Great location for a lovely getaway with a group of friends."
A beautiful converted barn with original features to enjoy. The hot tub was an added luxury and having the pub only 500m away was brilliant too! The Long Mynd is literally on the doorstep so great for those that like to walk and appreciate the Shropshire hills. Would definitely visit again.
-
"Nice long weekend away."
Cottage was nice as was the hot tub!! Everything was ready on our arrival, only negative is lack of storage in bedrooms and kitchen cupboard space. Only 1 cupboard free in kitchen for door and no drawers in the bedroom for clothes Other than that, nice cottage in a lovely location, and the Yew Tree pup 400 yards away is amazing
-
"Lovely barn and very well presented holiday let."
Loved the hot tub and the location and well presented and very clean & tidy. A few spot lights were out and a couple flickering so on the way out so need to keep an eye on those. Hope to be back in the future
-
"Great place to stay Hot tub was a bonus"
-
"We ended up checking out five days early because the wifi wasn’t very good and e we wouldn’t be able to work there."
The bed was uncomfortable also, and not as advertised. It stated that the room with ensuite was a king but it wasn’t, it was a double.
-
"A great place to stay."
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience
-
"The stay was fantastic, it is a great location to use as a base to explore Shropshire, and the local pub is 400 yards away, which always helps."
The barn ticked all the boxes, thank you.
-
"A great place to stay for our walking break, clean, warm and comfortable cottage with a very good local pub close by."
The hot tub was luxury after a day's walking.
-
"Lovely property, pleasant owners, Plenty of walks in the local area for the dogs with great scenery."
-
"Thank you for a wonderful stay and attentive nature!"
We had a lovely week! Richard was on hand whenever we needed him. The property is a lot more spacious than the photos suggest. The hot tub was a wonderful addition and the local areal is gorgeous. Church Stretton is beautiful with some lovely food places, highly recommend Berry’s if you stay. Thank you again!

Me and my family have just got back after 7 nights the barn is beautiful and cosey the views are lovely and it’s in the perfect spot from the local town and some great walks with amazing views the guy on site was great will definitely go back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"Lovely and clean, great facilities, could do with a few extra chests of drawers in the upstairs bedrooms and towel rails in the bathrooms."
Would stay again.
-
"It was such a lovely place to stay, one of my favourite holidays!"
-
"A beautiful barn conversion, decorated well and cosy."
Had everything we needed and the hot tub was a bonus. The short walk to the local pub was good, we even saved a baby lamb from running into the road. Would highly recommend as was such a beautiful setting.
-
"Lovely little spot, we’ll kept, very clean and friendly hosts nearby."
We really enjoyed our stay.
-
"We had a lovely visit to the old barns."
The barn was relaxing and just like a home from home with all the facilities we needed. We especially loved the hot tub, this was a great way to relax after a day exploring the area. We will definitely be returning
-
"Lovely place, beds are comfy and hot tub was a huge bonus."
Lots to see and do in the area. Thanks Richard.
-
"Thank you so much Richard, the cottage was lovely and more than expected, everything was lovely and clean and in perfect working order, their is plenty of facilities too use and it is so close too the carding mill valley and Caer Caradoc, I will definitely be returning in spring, Thank you so much!"
-
"The bedding and linen is of poor quality which spoils the cottage itself - in addition the heating and hot water are unpredictable again spoils things."
Cutlery and cutting knives very poor quality. Location good, layout good she about the rest. Also dirty rims around hot tub. Could and should be so much better for the price.
-
"Lovely cottage, everything you needed to be comfortable for a break."
Beds were comfy after a long day walking. Hot tub was great only thing to improve there would be a gate or curtain to cover the gap from the front door to hot tub, when over residents were in court yard they could look right at you. Only other thing that would improve the cottage would be a proper welcome leaflet with things like heating controls, as for is was to warm. Also about resetting the hot tub on rcd after powercut! Luckily I'm a sparky so checked it but other people might not think. But that's me being picky. Overall lovely place we will be back in 2022 if not before if we can get a weekend.

Second time stayed here still excellent great location for walking and town Barn has all the facilities you need People are lovely can’t do enough for you
-
"Really good quality accommodation providing home from home comfort."
Expensive perhaps but in this case you get what you pay for: beautifully converted barns: lovely spot: plenty of space and opportunity around for both being active and relaxing (including hot tub). A littler dark (but it's a barn conversion!). Would return and can certainly recommend. Owner is friendly, close by but totally unobtrusive. We had a great break with our autistic son.
-
"Accommodation was ok."
Was very dark inside which wasn't pleasant especially when sunny outside and no private outside space (would feel cosy in winter though in the flip side). Was a little shabby & in need of updating eg tap was broken in kitchen and we had to fix it. Not worth £200 per night although appreciate prices are possibly high right now due to covid. Hot tub was great but had a layer of scum in it. Accommodation itself was clean. Great location.
-
"Throughly enjoyed our stay."
The host was brilliant, cottage clean, tidy and we'll equipped. We will be sure to return again.
-
"Hi there. As I reported on our first night, the hot tub was not hot so we could not use it until the following day."
Glasses and crockery were also smeared and appeared to have been hand washed in greasy water even though a dishwasher was available so it was clear the cleanliness had not been adequately inspected and addressed. The silicone oven mitt was also covered in food! So overall, this reduced our confidence in the cleanliness of the cottage even though it seemed good in general. The hot tub was spotless so that was a plus. Overall all this is a great cottage in a great location with great facilities, just a bit more attention to cleanliness required especially during the current pandemic.
-
"Lovely barn conversion."
Clean and tidy with lots of room. Close to many attractions. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return.

Had to cancel in May due to virus was very lucky to rebook for September Sykes very helpful Barn really lovely extremely clean and well maintained
-
"Overall an enjoyable break and lucky with the weather-hot tub was a bonus which was well used by all of us disappointing to have to clean glasses and cutlery prior to using and shortage of clothes storage area in upstairs twin room however the major problem, nothing to do with the property, was the noise from the dog in the house opposite-let out at 6."
30 every morning and proceeded to bark continuously at everyone passing by the front garden!
-
"We were a group of 5 and had an amazing stay at the cottage."
Everything we could have wanted was at the barn- we just took food and board games! The hot tub was great fun, the walking nearby was beautiful, the local pubs were 10/10 (highly recommend the Kings Arms for food and drinks) The hosts were always very quick to get back to messages and did everything possible to make it a nice stay for us! Thank you so much, we had a great time!
-
"What a wonderful, peaceful weekend spent for my partners birthday."
Cottage was perfect. Spent the days out walking with the dog. Had a dip in the hot tub upon our return. Can not fault the place. Highly recommend
-
"Just come back from a 2 night stay in this fabulous cottage."
I could not fault my experience with Sykes and the cleanliness and facilities at the cottage. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners. Definitely recommend staying here.
-
"The hot tub was a great asset."
THe kitchen is quite small.
-
"Lovely cottage with everything we needed."
Really clean and very comfortable. Lovely places to visit nearby. The field with the stream next to the cottage was perfect for the dog to run around. A really peaceful and beautiful place.
-
"Everything was as advertised, the owners were super helpful and the fishing was a great plus point, we had a great family break."

The Jacuzzi was beautiful and exactly what we all needed after a long walk in the hills. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a comfortable weekend away in the countryside.
-
"Very impressed with this recent adaptation to an old barn."
The owners were very helpful. Turned the heating on, welcomed us with a home made cake, helped us understand the way the television operated, etc. Great location. Very comfortable. Would certainly recommend this property.
