  • "Just come back from Kenwick Lodge Cottages ."

We have just had a absolutely fabulous week here . On arrival Andrew and Jane came to welcome us . We had cakes, milk and flowers waiting for us,which was a nice touch. The barn is really cosy but very spacious. It’s fully equipped with everything you need, the owners have thought of everything. The location is amazing with stunning scenery. We cycled each morning from the barn along country lanes with beautiful views and virtually no traffic, just perfect. We took the car in the afternoon to visit many interesting places all within easy reach. Andrew and Jane were very friendly and we are looking forward to returning again soon. Wonderful place. Karen and Ron. September 25th 2021.

  • "We picked this house as it said it was 5 star, 2 minutes walk to pub and had wifi."

It's NONE of those. 20+ mins across fields to the pub and with a recent op I couldn't walk that. The house could be lovely - lots of windows overlooking countryside, but it's poorly decorated and badly furnished. Sofas appallingly uncomfortable, old, and battered. Cheap furnishings - which can be lovely if done with taste but not here. Nice arched windows spoilt by nasty cheap blinds with plastic pulls, other blinds were verticals that made it look like an office. Glass door had its curtain missing. Side tables rickety, dining chair upholstery stained or worn. Kettle crusted with limescale all round lid and spout. Worktops worn and needed varnishing. Nice bathrooms but shower water warm not hot and no details on how to turn on towel rails, goose bumps in the shower isn't good. Towels cheap, thin and no longer white. No blinds on bedroom roof lights so woken too early each morning. Wifi weak and dropped constantly - wouldn't have chosen this house if I'd known as needed it for work. Patio furniture old and grimy, 2 chair seats broken. Have stayed in dozens of self-caterings and none have been as poor as this. Not worth the price. Tried to send this complaint to Sykes directly but no way on website to email you.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Spinney View."

The expansive vista’s and the amenities exceeded expectation. Our host was very responsive and welcoming. We arrived to gorgeous cakes and milk in the fridge which, after a long drive was very welcomed. Relaxing at Spinney View or exploring locally it was all possible. The only down side was the lack of WiFi. For some of course that could be a bonus. We would definitely like to visit again however.

  • "We spent a week at Spinney View in July 2020 and had an amazing time."

The barn itself was very light, airy and spacious and well equipped. The hosts were very responsive and helped with questions about the area and the accommodation. The kids loved the wildlife, we had duck which visited a few times a day for feeding (food provided by the hosts) and three sheep next to the barns. I think they wanted to bring them home :) We visited the Leaking Tap in the village and the locals were very friendly and explained about the local Mere's and also tipped us off about the new local bakery which was devine (Thatbakerstreat which can be found on facebook).

The views were to die for and we loved the morning visit from the duck and her ducklings. The wine and the cake on arrival was a lovely touch.

  • "It was a gift from a friend."

It was an amazing experience. Spinney View is a lovely open spacious cottage and the views are amazing. The rooms are great. We loved watching the little ducklings pass the cottage at least twice per day. The garden was used for kicking a rugby ball and playing a bit of cricket. The boys even managed to catch 2 fish at the pond. The hosts, Jane and Andrew, are friendly and we felt welcomed from the very start. We would love to come back and visit again.
