  • "We have stayed previously at the little bakehouse when it first opened, at that time we found the beds to be very uncomfortable, we were pleased to see the beds had changed and a lot more comfortable."

I feel the house needs some TLC, the house was surface clean but we all felt it needed a ‘deep clean’ and generally some tidying up of things. Utensils such as glassware were limited, 3 champagne flutes and no matching water glasses. We found the sofas to be really uncomfortable and felt footstools may make it more comfortable. We also thought the house would benefit from a coffee table, we have young children and they wanted to play with there Lego and be in the lounge with us. We had to contact the owners while we were there, they answered straight away and were really helpful. Overall, it is good value for money compared to other properties we have stayed at before in criccieth.

  • "A lovely, clean property."

Ideally situated to access the beach, shops and castle. The stairs are a bit steep as described so if you struggle with mobility be aware. People walking through the front garden was not an issue. It did not bother us at all. The yard at the back was lovely and quite secluded. A few minor niggles such as no wardrobe in the front bedroom and the door wouldn't shut properly. Overall, good value for money in high season. The grandchildren didn't want to leave!

  • "The kitchen is poorly stocked for a family of four, I suspect breakages have not been replaced."

We had a minor issue with towels which the owner rapidly dealt with which was excellent. The cottage is perfectly located for the beach and town, we’ve stayed here before and would stay again only we have now outgrown the cottage as kids are becoming teenagers. This place is perfect for a small family or a couple.

Great friendly neighbours ,amazing location. Beds comfortable and adequate space. In my opinion the only way it could be improved would be more upto date bedding to compliment the bedrooms and replacing the towels and sofa blankets as they felt and looked past their sell by date. ,Also a tv upstairs would be great. We loved the area and thought we would love to stay again as it was so relaxing and beautiful there.

  • "Once inside the property this beautiful, cosy cottage is very welcoming, comfortable and furnished to a high standard."

It had everything we needed and obviously a lot of thought has gone into providing all the essentials required for its customers. However, unfortunately the cottage is let down by its shabby exterior. The front is overgrown with bushes that need trimming back and the fencing is all broken and looks very untidy, which is such a shame as it spoils the overall impression. Parking was also an issue for us and I think clearer instructions should be made available on this subject.

The cottage was absolutely spotless and really beautifully done out. Great location, we loved the beaches and the ice cream shop round the corner was great. Perfect location for us climbing Snowdon and visiting the other popular sites. Would definitely visit again.

  • "Had a fantastic stay."

Really close to the sea and the views are fantastic. Brilliant coastal walks in both directions. Great for dog walking and lots of dog friendly cafès in the town. The house itself was perfect and had everything we needed. There's a well enclosed (although small) courtyard at the back of the kitchen which was perfect for the dog. If, like mine, your dog is likely to try and escape, this is very secure and there's no way out. The house is very modern and clean. The beds were comfortable and the linen and towels provided were great. I wouldn't think twice about booking again. I've booked many holiday cottages through Sykes and this is up there with the best considering value for money, location and the quality of the accomodation. I would say parking is the only downside as there isn't parking at the property itself, but there's plenty of parking nearby.

Great location too, very quiet and peaceful. Overall it was one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Shame that there was only a double bed, but that is the limit for the size of the bedrooms in this old cottage. I'm 1.96m so not ideal for me. Could do with a small table in front of the settee, but apart from that very well appointed. What3words. Car park & cottage ///footpath.patio.runways ///tidal.this.titles

  • "Little Bakehouse was perfect!"

My partner and I took our 2 dogs away for a week in Criccieth. The location of Little Bakehouse is brilliant, nice and quiet but only a 5-10 minute walk to the beaches. The cottage was spotless and the courtyard at the back was perfect for letting the dogs out first thing / last thing at night. Everything worked as per the instructions left and it just had such a lovely feel about the place - we would definitely come back. One tiny suggestion: perhaps put a couple of suggestions in your welcome pack about nearby places to go - we discovered Beddgelert (and Beddgelert forest with its beautiful lake) - help your guests explore the surrounding areas.

The only negative i can genuinely give is as previos guests had are the stairs are narrow and steep, i am partially disabled and found them difficult. And not as close to the sea as we thought. But for those of you who don,t have any difficulties this is a truely lovely place.

It has a well equipped kitchen and the lounge area had two very comfortable settees. The garden is compact but adequate and when our two small dogs went out we knew they were completely safe and if the weather was nice, it would be a lovely place to sit . There is not much room at the side of the bed in the main room to get into bed and could prove difficult for some. It is very near local amenities (shop, pub , chipshop). It makes a wonderful base for exploring the area. If we come back to the area we would definitely stay here again

…needs a note putting on the white door saying to come through that, everything in the cottage was spotless , facilities great, brilliant for the 2 of us and 2 small dogs…but sadly, we both suffered really badly with severe back ache after just one night in the double bed, the bed slopes to the wall and is really hard so not great, tried the other bed, same kind of Mattress, too hard, ended up sleeping in turns on the sofa, if it wasn’t for the beds I would def book here again, as the location is superb, but having not had a decent nights sleep all week, it did put a bit of a downer on our week.

I'm sorry that you found the directions to the property confusing, however I'm relieved that I was able to help. Following this being brought to my attention, the directions have now been amended and the mattresses which you found uncomfortable have now been changed. We arrived a bit early, so we could find the location in the daylight as we thought it might be a bit tricky to locate (it was) and it was just about to be cleaned so we went off to explore. The property is very nice, clean, modern and with tasteful good quality furnishings. Downstairs is more spacious than expected. It has everything you can possibly need. The little courtyard is really cute but as it was January we didn’t get to enjoy it. Had the best sleep we have had in ages, comfy beds (a bit soft to our preference but still ok) and it was soooo quiet. Being January it was very cold but heating in the property was great, and we were very cosy. We parked in front of the bungalow as instructed, it’s a bit of a tight squeeze getting past the houses in Henbont Rd if you’ve got a large car. Criccieth is lovely, we went to the little cafe Tir a Mor by the level crossing which was very nice (it was closed after that at the start of the week which was disappointing as we would have gone back). Also wanted a Chinese takeaway on our final night but it was closed due to Chinese New Year so we got a kebab & burger from the shop on the High St instead which was awful. We also ate at Dylan’s which was OK. Would thoroughly recommend this property!

The cost of the accommodation was very very expensive, presumably to take full advantage of People holidaying in the UK During a worldwide pandemic, we also did not expect to have to strip all of the beds and laundry and take out all of the rubbish whilst paying £320 per night including the cost of 6 hours cleaning.

It was cosy, clean and tidy with very friendly neighbours around who were happy to chat to us as visitors. The way the outside space was designed was ideal for us to feel secure and private, and we felt very spoiled with auto lighting... we have serious courtyard envy now and since being home, am slightly confused when lights don’t come on immediately as we enter!! It's ideally located - within easy reach of most of North Wales's attractions (by car). It is advertised as for 5 people - which technically it can accommodate - but would be a squeeze for 5 adults. The second bedroom is more appropriate for 3 children. We had a mild concern about cleanliness. The bed in the second bedroom had a couple of long hairs in there... We didn't use the washing machine as there was some sort of black sludge in the conditioner compartment (we subsequently washed by hand and only used the washing machine as a dryer). Beyond that, it is a delightful cottage, well maintained (apart from the washing machine). A large lounge and a good sized kitchen. Plenty of parking nearby.

The property

Once a bakehouse, this great little conversion offers a bright, contemporary holiday home, with everything Criccieth has to offer within easy walking distance. The spacious kitchen has an electric oven and hob, washer/drier, fridge with ice compartment, microwave and toaster.

There is a dining table and chairs.

A door leads out to a delightful wooden clad private little nook with garden furniture. The large sitting room has sofas, an electric log effect burner with remote control and large flat screen TV, DVD. There are stairs from the sitting room which lead up to the two bedrooms.

One has a double bed and the other is a double (4ft) with single bunk over the top. The bathroom has a short bath with shower over (limited headroom), loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. The front courtyard has planters and shared pathway access to Castle Street.

It can therefore be used for access by neighbours on occasion. The stairs are quite narrow and a little steep. Criccieth has retained it's lovely laid back seaside charm with its gorgeous beach and, of course, the castle.

There are excellent places to eat, from simple fish and chips, to gourmet dining.

You won't find any chain stores here, just unique, individual and interesting little shops in addition to the essential post office and convenience shops. A little further afield is Porthmadog where you can access both the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways and the mountains of Snowdonia.
