The apartment was clean and tidy and most importantly this time of year -(April) it was cosy and warm! Everything was added to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The views are outstanding and we are hoping to return.

  • "A lovely peaceful stay."

The cottage was very clean. The double bed is very comfortable. The views are unrivalled! The owner was very helpful and kind. The booklet in the cottage was very detailed, perfect for a short stay. As others have mentioned, the kitchen and utility areas really need upgrading. Although mentioned in the description at the very bottom of the page, the extremely steep drive should be more clearly highlighted, as some people could be concerned.

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and are disappointed that the kitchen was not to your taste. For the benefit of others, the (separate) kitchen is well represented in the photos and it most certainly is not shabby. A new oven, fridge and microwave have been provided within the last 2 years and, as commented by other guests, it is well equipped. Property Owner

Could do with a little makeover inside but still a lovely place to stay.

New doors with modern handles have been installed throughout this off season together with new rear windows and external paving. This generally uplits the property. We ensure that the decoration is always well maintained. Property Owner

  • "Lovely location and views but property really needs modernising."

Property was cold when we arrived and the hall smelled of damp for several days. Although plates/pans/cutlery were all in excellent condition the kitchen really could do with upgrading. The main bedroom had a very comfortable bed but the rest of the furniture really let it down. The lounge again really needs updating. The property has lots of potential and we would consider returning if it was upgraded.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback following your stay, we agree the view is the big draw and a highlight of staying at the property. We are sorry that the property was cold on your arrival, we will check with our house keeper about making sure the heating is warmer going forward. Regarding upgrading we have now added some new bedroom and lounge furniture. The style, as per the online photographs, we are trying to emphasise is a comfortable, well decorated, homely and clean property which appears to appeal to the majority of our reviewers.(scroll down) Upon review it is a shame that the musty smell was not reported at the time as it no longer appears to be problematic. • "'Dubrovnik' was perfect for our 5 day break."

The property was well appointed and well positioned albeit with a healthy incline when walking back in the evening. The view was great and although it was the first week in December the weather played ball. Only recommendation was that a non slip mat be available for the in bath shower. Otherwise everything was great. We are already considering a revisit in the future.

Very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your break so much that you are planning to return. When you do you will be pleased that we have now applied non slip strips to the bath. Property Owner

  • "We stayed at this property at the beginning of December for a week."

The views from the property were amazing but there is building work going on right at the front of the property. The apartment was very clean but does need updating. The seating in the living room is not very comfortable . A lot of the furniture needs updating. A mismatch of items . There was only a small refrigerator in the kitchen . The second bedroom was very dark and bathroom very small. jUst needs a little upgrading.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave feedback following your stay. We are pleased that you found the location to your liking. The front bedroom and some living room furniture has now been renewed. We are trying to provide a comfortable ambiance at the property which has satisfied the majority of our guests. For the benefit of others, the building work is not directly in front of our property but slightly to the right and down the hill, it started in June, with no previous adverse comments. The new property, being much lower, will have a minimal impact on the views. There is a separate toilet, which can be considered a bonus, but unfortunately this comes at the expense of a smaller bathroom.. Property Owner

The place is very comfortable and opening the lounge or bedroom curtains to that view was amazing. All the things that we needed were catered for, and having a toilet that was separate from the bathroom was very handy. Sitting on the garden bench in the afternoon sunshine with a cup of coffee and taking in the view towards the town and the castle was something else. Being a nosey old beggar I had remembered to pack my binoculars so they were well used by all four of us by the end of the week. The accommodation had everything that you needed , a very good shower , a bath, constant hot water , a great central heating system which was very easy to use, good kitchen facilities and even a utility room. This was was a property that you could come back to after a long day and have a very relaxing evening All in all highly recommended

The flat is light, bright and very clean and well-equipped. Beds were very comfortable. The view is amazing from both the sitting room and the double bedroom, as well as from the patio. Great to see that a hand grip rail had been installed above the bath, in response to previous feedback, which was a great help particularly to my parents in their 80s. All fixture and fittings, kitchen utensils, appliances etc. gave a home from home experience. Our only suggestion could be for a handrail to be installed for climbing over the bath side into and out of the shower.

  • "We were a bit disappointed with the cottage, which we thought was a bit tired and dated."

The lounge was rather bare, with a threadbare rug and only a 2- seater sofa and two chairs. The bathroom was rather small, with only a sit-up bath. The outside light by the front door didn’t work. Overall, we thought it would benefit from some modernisation.

We are sorry to hear your opinions of the property but would like to respond as we feel some of the wording may give a misleading impression to others. The property most certainly cannot be described as tired as it was extensively refurbished this summer for holiday letting. The majority of the decoration, floor coverings and furnishings were renewed. The lounge is fully furnished, as the photos clearly indicate, and the rug most certainly is not threadbare! Again it is brand new in a faded modern ‘shabby chic' style. New pictures have recently been added to the walls. The bathroom is small because there is a useful separate WC with a basin. The light to which you refer is clearly redundant. (It has now been removed) The path to the front door is well lit by an alternative flood light. We do hope that the location and views did not disappoint. Property Owner

The location and view are great, but the price for this is the short steep road up to the property. But it is well worth it. The apartment itself is comfortable and really well equipped. Great kitchen, excellent shower, and good smart TV. The WiFi was a bit flaky sometimes, but nothing major. Nice touches to welcome you – Welsh cakes & Welsh tea! And a useful pack with local info & recommendations for walks Criccieth is a tidy small town, within walking distance, with enough shops and cafés and restaurants to keep you interested. The Llyn peninsula is beautiful, with many options for walking, either coastal or in the mountains. The weather during our stay (late September) was varied, with warm sunshine and stormy rain, but come prepared for every type of weather, because that’s what you get! Overall, great apartment, great location, highly recommended.
