  • "We had a lovely stay at Golygfa’r Gastell."

Everything was as described. The only thing that nearly caught us out was that only part of the car park the pass is provided for is long stay. Thankfully, I read the information provided in the flat not long after we’d arrived so was able to move the car to the long stay section with no consequences. We really enjoyed the stunning view from the balcony and the wool duvet was super comfy. I would definitely stay again!

The view from the balcony was fab. Lovely bedding and towels. Comfy bed. The stairs are pretty steep so we had to be very careful. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Lovely flat, very spacious clean and airy and with spectacular views over to the sea, the mountains and the castle which you can enjoy from the balcony - or curl up in the cosy downstairs lounge if the weather turns."

We were a bit surprised to find the property was above a Fish & Chip shop however cooking smells don't enter the flat, the noise was minimal and the Fish and Chips were delicious!. It's in a perfect spot to explore the beautiful town and an easy stroll to the beach, and close to the rail station - highly recommend the very scenic Cambrian rail route to Harlech, Barmouth and beyond. It was easy to find a space in the car park (although worth noting you need to park in the Long Stay section which I think should be included in the check-in instruction before arrival as we needed to move!). A perfect place to enjoy this beautiful part of the world.

Hi Tim. Thank you for your review. I appreciate your feedback and am delighted you enjoyed your stay in Criccieth. Regarding the car parking, I will ask Sykes to make it clear in their check-in information that the permit is only for the long stay section of the car park at the rear, as you suggest. The welcome pack in the flat does of course specify this. Kind regards Rhonwen Property Owner

Lovely view from the balcony. Excellent location with easy access to beach and shops. The flat is on the second floor and is reached via a steep flight of stairs, so would not be suitable for persons with mobility issues.

Thanks Peter for your glowing review. So pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. Rhonwen & John Property Owner

  • "Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful."

Can not fault it one bit. The kitchen was well equipped, the snug/tv room was a lovely additional room and the balcony was the best feature of the apartment. We would’ve spent every evening out there in better weather, the view of the castle and coast was beautiful. The apartment is clean, well decorated, maintained, very clean and very well equipped. The one problem we did have was rectified very quickly. John and Rhonwen are great hosts, very friendly, do everything they can to make your stay a lovely and hassle free experience. And the family run fish and chip shop downstairs is not only convenient but their food is the best in the area. We enjoyed our 7 day stay so much we have already rebooked it for next year. Thanks for a great week.

Hi Michael Thank you very much for your review. Delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay so much and equally delighted to see you have already booked for next year. Fingers crossed for better weather next year so you can enjoy the balcony. All the best Rhonwen and John Property Owner

  • "Lovely clean and well maintained property."

We couldn’t get enough of sitting in the kitchen lounge area watching the changing views of the castle and bay. Welsh cakes to greet us were very much appreciated, as was the pass for free parking in the municipal car park near the rear of the property. Just a warning that there may not be anywhere to park near the front entrance when you arrive, so you may end up toting your luggage from the car park. Criccieth is a lovely little town and I highly recommend the property as a quiet and relaxing place for exploring North Wales.

We were lucky enough with the weather to enjoy some drinks on the balcony too which was an unexpected bonus. A great apartment in a charming seaside town in a stunning part of the world, we'll be back.

Everything in the property is spotlessly clean and of a high spec. It's very spacious and all the furniture is comfortable. The parking permit for the car park round the back was a bonus and it was easy to pull up outside the property to unload the car. It was a pleasure to meet the owner, who has obviously put a lot of thought and effort into refurbishing the property. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to be back!

We also spent time on beaches at Borth-y-Gest and Harlech as well as sampling the delicious fish & chips in Criccieth. Castle View is a fantastic base for exploring the local area and a wonderful place to come home to every night. We would certainly love to stay again in 2024.

The apartment is beautifully clean and furnished with good quality and well considered items. We had such a brilliant week and really made the most of the balcony on good weather days, even enjoying rainier days just watching the rough sea in the rain! I plan to come again with my husband, we loved it! The apartment is central and so handy for walking to the beach and the castle - but also to the train station and there are good bus links too.
