  • "A fabulous house with an amazing view."

Thoroughly enjoyed our family get together and the house had everything we needed. We know North Wales well and this is the best house we have stayed in.

Our 2nd stay &, again, very impressed with the house and contents. House very warm (a good thing!) but it would be useful to have summer weight bed quilts.

  • "We had a fantastic week over Christmas at the lovely house."

The facilities and amenities on whole were top class, as was the location to local restaurants and the pub. However with 4 teenagers, the internet was not very good, and for a large house that sleeps 10, we did expect this to be better. I would say it is most suited to 8 adults and 2 children. We had a lovely time over all and would recommend to others .

  • "The WOW factor of this property is obviously the superb views and huge skies, where you can watch the sunrise and sunset from the same spot."

The house suited our family, aged 7 to 77, and was in a great location. The negative was the poor WiFi, (non existent downstairs) which meant having to go out to send work emails.

  • "The house is well designed to make the most of the incredible views come rain or shine and at every time of the day."

There was plenty of room for 8 adults and a dog to spread out or spend time together. We enjoyed the games, table football and table tennis which gave us plenty to do in the evenings. The house is in easy reach of the beach, town and everything that this beautiful part of Wales has to offer. This is one of the best holiday houses we've stayed in and we'd gladly come back.

Views are to die for. House was spotlessly clean and every need catered for. We will be back soon. In fact it was so good, we stayed another night - thank you to the owners for agreeing to our request. Lots of super design features in this house too. Swinging chairs, rotor blade stair rail, built in wireless speakers … the list goes on. Wildlife and birds to the rear of the property absolutely stunning too. Thanks for a fab holiday.

  • "Our family had a wonderful week at Hafod y Mor."

The house had everything we needed for a great stay and all generations could occupy themselves during the stormy weather we unfortunately had. However, the view from the windows across the sea made the weather all the more bearable and it’s true to say it, enjoyable. Just a few things could make the stay even better: a larger cheese grater; clearer instructions on which outdoor recycling bins contain what as many council instructions vary and we were unsure of local ones. We will definitely be back!

  • "Property was lovely, spotlessly clean and lightly decorated for Christmas."

The most important showpiece of this property is the huge glass door in the living room/kitchen. You can spend hours just watching the bay. First day in and we had the delight to watch a red kite immediately outside the front! The appliances are high quality and the included washing up liquid/soap was a nice touch. So often cottages just leave one dishwasher tablet or a tiny amount of soap meaning you have to run to the shops. Three very minor points for us: - It took us 15 minutes to open the front door on arrival. The lock is very stiff and the trick is to pull the door and turn the key. Probably due to the prevailing wind battering the front of the property in inclement weather. Yes, I did panic when I couldn't get in as it was the 23rd December. - The main glass door in the living room wouldn't close properly. Consequently it was a little drafty upstairs in the gale force winds we had. I think the door lock bar needs re-seating. - Better information about the bins would be good. We were unclear what could be recycled and where it should be placed and if we were meant to put the bins out on a certain day. Hopefully we did it right.

  • "A very beautiful holiday home."

The views are breathtaking. Kitchen is very well equipped and I have never cooked or washed up with such spectacular views. Our only issue was the noise of the building works on a daily basis which I do realise is outside the owners control but did spoil a perfect week.

Spacious, well prepared, comfortable and equipped to a high standard. It's a short walk to Dylan's a good local restaurant, though be aware, it's an uphill return. A couple of minor repairs needed but and double rather than Queen sized beds but overall, one of the best houses we have rented in the UK.

I stayed here in October with my family and close friends and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The weather was a bit hit and miss but we didn't mind as we enjoyed the house and the wonderful views. Beautiful property with excellent facilities, comfortable, clean and a view from every window !. We will definitely book to stay here again. My only gripe , and it is a very small one , would be the lack of storage in the bedrooms. It would have been nice to have had set of draws and a bedside table instead of a tiny shelf. I would highly recommend this property , suitable for anytime of the year!

The views from the house are amazing. All the facilities were excellent. As stated on a previous review there was an issue with the dish washer but this was resolved very early on in our stay and repaired. We found that the kitchen contained everything that you could possible need. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable and the whole layout of the house is excellent. The football table proved very popular. The dining table comfortably seats 10 people which is ideal for the size of the house. We would love to come back and stay again.

  • "This amazing property is of high spec with the most fantastic views, location is a massive bonus."

It sits right at the top of Criccieth, so a fair hill to climb, but you don't get views like that from sitting in a valley! We would have loved to have had a hot tub, but that is the ONLY negative point we can make. Of course upon booking the property we knew there wasnt one, but due to the position of Hafod Y Mor I can only imagine how amazing it would be to sit in a hot tub and watch that view. Fantastic place, thank you and I think all of us want to return in the future.

  • "Our expectations were met by the fantastic view from the property but our stay was not very comfortable."

We reported a problem with the dishwasher on first use but it took a long time to get some action. We found a large piece of glass and a clogged filter in the dishwasher left by previous users presumably causing the problem. Not a lot of fun to wash by hand all week. The glasses and crockery were mismatched and there was no chopping board or bin for food rubbish. The bathrooms are very small and the dining table too big and bean bags in the bedrooms very odd! The coffee pot still had old coffee grounds from the previous occupier.I also think the bedding needs to be renewed. The contact details for the housekeeper had been hidden in a drawer under toys for some reason!

Thank you for your review and feedback - we are happy to deal with each point raised in turn. We're sorry you experienced a problem with our dishwasher which is a high end double Fisher and Paykel unit (allowing some redundancy should one of the drawers have a technical fault). Our housekeeper did come straight up and have a look at it for you and we asked a local handy man to come up the next day to also see if it was fault that could be easily resolved. Unfortunately it wasn't and the F n P engineer was immediately booked to come out at their earliest appointment. Our glasses and crockery have received exceptionally heavy use this summer and whilst fit for purpose we do replenish and replace as required. There are 6 chopping boards in the draw next to the cutlery draw. There is a food waste bin under the kitchen sink. There is a family bathroom with bath in bed 1 and a large ensuite in bed 4. The ensuite's in Bedrooms 2 and 3 are compact as per the constraints of the property layout and shown in the photographs on the property details website. The dining table has to accommodate 10 as that is our house capacity. The bean bags are in each of the downstairs bedrooms are for guests to take out through their respective patio doors should they wish to take in the views and relax in the sunshine. Our housekeeping team work exceptionally hard to ensure the house is cleaned and presented perfectly. We apologise on their behalf that the coffee pot had been missed and not been cleaned on this occasion as this clearly isn't an acceptable standard. The bed linen is hotel grade and replaced regularly. Our visitor Information booklet left out with our complimentary guest arrival gifts gives all relevant contact details on page 1 and of course you can contact who ever you booked with who will facilitate dealing with any issues. We hope this answers your points raised and thank you again for visiting Hafod y Mor. Property Owner

However, the staircases (inside and out) are not easily traversable for the mildly infirm/inebriated, in particular, the fabulous banister on the inside stairway is not 'graspable'. The recycling and rubbish collection instructions were incomprehensible (to us!) and no spare bags were provided - we ended up taking our kitchen waste home in bags we purchased.
