  • "Lack of mirrors."

A good size mirror in each bedroom would be good. Only tv was netflix - no 'live' tv and a degree in electronics would be helpful. Garden needed some TLC. Otherwise lovely. Position is good and accommodation comfortable. Our dog was very happy to be there.

The cottage was lovely and spacious and kitchen was fantastic overall it was clean and very comfortable, But a few grips their was only one tv and it was listed as two and the tv only work on iPlayer only and we could only see the England game on our iPad, also the bedroom would welcome some curtains for privacy and the three of us are registered disabled and we could not have a shower as it meant climbing over the bath to get in, that is only the problems we had the stay was very enjoyable and if these 3 problems were sorted we would book again

  • "I'll start from the outside in,the acsess to the property is very uneaven the path definitely needs attention."

The garden is a very good size and a nice enclosed garden with decking area. Now to the inside was a disappointment the property is definitely in need of general maintenance and a deep clean. The double bedroom the wallpaper was coming off the walls and both plug sockets weren't secure to the walls ! Also it could do with bedside tables. The bathroom was ok and living room good size again the finishing of the decor needs attention, the kitchen is well equipped and modern but we did come across toast crumbs under the toaster and ants were a problem. Also there was evidence of mouse droppings between the fridge and washer!I did have a clean before using. Its a shame these things need attention as it could be a nice comfortable property. Also there could do with a welcome folder .

Bus service runs right by the property Lovely well equipped kitchen (very clean) with a sun room just off kitchen which led out to a lovely decking Our dog Donald loved the safe enclosed back garden Back to the inside bathroom was spot on bedroom's were a very nice size the lounge very nice size. Don't really want to add these comments but the seating is very uncomfortable if sitting for a longish period, the bed in main bedroom is in need of a new mattress urgently. It's such a pity because it is a gorgeous property.

Thank you very much for the lovely feedback, glad you liked my property and Donald enjoyed the garden. So sorry to here about the couches and mattress, we have changed the couches to a lovely set of recliners now and I'm going to change the mattress as well, I really appreciate your feedback and we hope to welcome you again in the future, Thanks Property Owner

  • "When we arrived at the property it had not been cleaned from the previous guests."

The owner came straight away once we rang and cleared the food crumbs and mopped the floors. There was an extremely large amount of dirt in the corners and the window frames are dirty too. We emptied the completely full Hoover and filled it twice with dust from the two bedroom carpets. There were no bulbs in the free standing lamps and no lampshade in the hall. The finish in each room is incomplete. The shower screen was dirty and the washbasin plug was blocked. We had to clear it. The finish to the laminate floor is insecure entering the double bedroom. The settees throughout are unusable . The back of all the wardrobes are not attached to the wardrobes. We have taken photos to support these comments. We have stayed at various cottages through Sykes and other companies and this is not to the standard we have ever experienced before.

  • "Fantastic location to explore north wales, a short 5/10 min walk and you’re on the beach."

Convenience shop across the road. Spacious bungalow with great views and decked area to rear. Unfortunately it’s in need of a good dose of TLC and regular maintenance. We had to spend time and money on arrival cleaning the house to make it comfortable for the week. Owner said they were ill and used a cleaning company on this occasion. I understand it is dog friendly accommodation but the amount of dust and hair ingrained in to the house/furniture needs to be addressed. Settee’s, pillows and mattresses need replacing also.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your stay at Laragh. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the location and surrounding areas, especially the close proximity to the beach. We are sorry to read that you did not find the cleanliness of the property up to standard, after speaking with the property owner, I understand that they have asked for pictures to understand the issues you experienced during your stay, but they are yet to receive these. If you would like to forward these across to us here at Sykes Cottages, we can review this with the property owner and their cleaning team. Property Owner

Listing local attractions and amenities.instead of bits of paper all over the mantlepiece tops.a notebook's communication book for emergency numbers and taxis etc.grass cut on a weekly basis and a new sign on door or gate to tell you the name of the bungalow. (My partner made a sign for the entrance of the bungalow hope its ok) cleaning equipment and solutions for cleaning floors . • "Great location, house could be a gem, but needs improvement."

Front door and porch have been mentioned in other reviews, so thought it may have been sorted, but still an old door, full of splits, where you can see through it. I don't expect 5* when it is pet friendly, however, things like the bathroom sink and shower screen, weren't clean. Kitchen looked fine, but had failed to be cleaned behind the toaster and air fryer. Unable to hoover up as, gtech was flat and no charger to charge it. Dog toys under both couches, from previous visitors. On the positive, the sun room was a lovely area, leading onto the decking, where we were lucky enough to enjoy some great weather. Would consider staying again, but would need to vastly improve.

Thank you for your feedback, Sorry you thought the door and porch were old, we do have a new front door ordered but because of wait times hadn't been fitted when you came to stay, the porch has been knocked down now and we are currently waiting on the new door. I apologize for the other points made and appreciate your feedback and will definitely take it on board, hope you come back to stay again to see the improvements that have been made. Cleanish but defo needs a clean before arriving didn’t smell as though just been cleaned. Needs to feel a bit more homely. Just very basic which is a shame as could be a lovely place to stay. Would stay again though but no longer than a weekend would stay longer if updated.

Thank you for your feedback, I will definitely look into making things more homely, my bungalow is newly renovated and I only opened in July of last year, so I'm new to this but if you had any ideas of what would have made your holiday a better stay I'd love to hear them, thank you for the feedback. • "Having stayed at this property this review stems from mixed feelings in regards to our stay in November 22 and is an honest review, focusing on both the pros and main cons which affected our stay."

On arrival at the property the old fashioned metal porch is not very welcoming and does instill doubt of what lies ahead. The location of the property is great for travelling to various locations. It offers off road parking and has a convenience store just over the road which is great if you have forgot something. Although having not met the owner the communication is excellent and they appear to be very accommodating and helpful. The neighbour is also very friendly, helpful and makes you feel very welcome. The property does offer a secure garden area for your dog which is great. It also offers a lovely decking area which will be great during summer months. With regards to the inside of the property itself sadly this comes with a mixed review. Although the property has been modernised somewhat it does still need some attention with the paying customer's comfort in mind. The kitchen appears to have been modernised to a great standard and does offer everything you could want during the stay. The bathroom has been modernised and offers plenty of hot water without issue. On entering the property there was a obvious feel of must and damp and it was very cold. The heating system will combat this but you will need the heating on constant. Once you turn the heating off it is not long before the property drops tempature very quickly. Been comfortable during a stay should be a key proirty but sadly this was not the case during our stay in Nov "22 The 2 sofas in the lounge are well past their best and are not at all comfortable to sit on for long periods as you can feel the wooden structure poking through and the cushion seats have lost their support. The TV is difficult to set up and could be a real issue for anyone who is not technical minded. The double bed desperately needs a new mattress which is very tired and needs replacing. The location of the double bed on our visit was also an issue and needs repositioning away from the wall. If the person closest to the wall wants to visit the toilet in the night they can't get out of bed without disturbing the other person. This could also be an issue for anyone of a older age. The property would benefit from blinds in the windows giving a little privacy to guests as most windows offer nothing at all which makes it feel cold and open expecially during darkness. The only exception to this is that the bedroom and lounge do offer curtains which can be drawn but nothing else. Overall a great location but a property which needs some attention focusing on the customer's comfort. We booked a week's stay but made the decision to leave only 3 days into our stay. Would we stay here again ..... sadly no unless the issues were rectified.

I'm sorry to hear that you were not happy with a few things. The property is an old bungalow and feels the cold in the winter months, I therefore offer gas central heating and an electric fire, which can be used as much as needed. If raised to myself, I would have been happy to provide thicker duvets and extra fleece blankets for on top of the beds.I appreciate the couches are not new and I will be replacing these. The mattress in the double room is brand new. I completely take on board your comment about there needing to be blinds and I will definitely invest in some. I renovated the property last year up to a standard that I thought people would be comfortable and enjoy, but I fully appreciate feedback and ideas on how to improve. Thank you for saying that I was accommodating and helpful and I'm sorry that you were not able to stay the whole stay, I did the extra beds up for the extra guests you requested in the hope you would all have a comfortable and enjoyable stay and I'm really sorry that was not the case. I shall definitely rectify these issues and I hope if I do you may stay again in the future. Property Owner

  • "House was really nice."

Can't fault it at all really other than the porch needs a whole new makeover and the warmth of the place is questionable. The main room was ok because we had the fire on whenever we were in it which made it feel really homely. Other than that, the house was freezing tbh. On the second day I noticed why this may be, there are many gaps in the front door, so you can see the light right through it. I've pointed a couple of pretty big negatives there with the house, but it really was a lovely place beside them couple of things. If the owners had left instructions on how to put the heating on in the house and porch got a makeover we would definitely return to this place

About the location

DEGANWY

Conwy 2 miles; Llandudno 3.5 miles.

The town of Deganwy, on the banks of the River Conwy at the mouth of the Estuary, is a very popular holiday destination. Deganwy has a marina, a small selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, and retains the ruins of Deganwy Castle, built in 1082 but later demolished. There is an abundance of activities to suit all interests on offer in this area; from sea fishing, walking and climbing in the Snowdonia range to enjoying the castles, mines, beaches and gardens of this beautiful stretch of the North Wales Coast. Deganwy is only a few miles from the holiday resorts of Conwy and Llandudno; Conwy boasts a medieval castle, town walls and a marina, plus winding streets which offer something for shoppers and diners alike. Llandudno was very popular during the Victorian era, and this is evident in the architecture and the very impressive promenade. The town also has a pier with family attractions, a theatre and for the more adventurous, a dry ski slope! Between Deganwy, Llandudno and Conwy, this area has so much to offer the entire family.
