The facilities were of a higher spec than I expected from the photos, the oven and and the hob in particular. The sea view from two of the bedrooms was a bonus. The location was quiet and great being a few minutes walk to the sea.vWe had a lovely stay and would recommend the property to friends.

  • "Lovely comfortable house, with most things that you would need for your stay."

Parts of the property a little dated and couldn’t imagine there being enough comfortable seating if the house was at full occupancy. Area where house is situated is quiet and on a cul-de-sac. Would be even better if garden was made enclosed. Would recommend.

I was very disappointed with the hypothetical comment about not enough space for 6 people when there were only 2 of you. The house has been at full occupancy many times in the past 12 years with no complaints. Property Owner

Most of the house is well decorated the beds are so comfy but the showers and cloakroom need upgrading, and wardrobe needs attention, having said that we would definitely stay there again plenty of off road parking for two cars.

This is very odd as the whole house has recently been redecorated throughout. Perhaps you don't like the tiles. Property Owner

  • "Lovely spacious modern house close to the beach at Criccieth that was spotlessly clean on arrival."

Plenty of room for 6 adults and all the mod cons you could want. You have a 5 minute walk (uphill sections) to the high street (via a handy footpath from neighbouring estate) and to the castle area (along promenade). My parents (in their 80s) managed it without any problem for those with some mobility issues. As described in listing the garden is not enclosed but the cul de sac is extremely quiet. Criccieth is just a short drive from plenty of great places to visit so a great base. Check in is actually 3pm and check out 10am.

Also we could manage 9.00 departure and 5.00 check in. But 10.00 and 4.00. Would have been preferable

Check in and out times have been changed to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. We have had no complaints about the garden as regards to children before and have been letting Min y Traeth for 11 years. There is no question of having the garden enclosed although guests are welcome to bring their dogs and there are plenty of walks nearby for them. Property Owner

  • "This was a week of sea air and mountain views and it didn't disappoint."

We had had a long journey through torrential rain and floods but the moment we walked through the door, the warmth of the house enveloped us. Everything was exactly as described, but with a high end finish. House remained warm all week and beds were very comfortable. All in all house surpassed our expectations on all fronts. Neighbours we met were friendly and the weather was superb after the first day when it rained, we had sun most days at some point and on our last day spent a good amount of time on the beach with our dog as it was so warm and no breeze. Criccieth was much as we remembered from previous holidays. Pwllheli was rather run down in the town centre, like so many others across the UK, but we still enjoyed our walk across the dunes watching the jet skiers in the bay. The snow capped mountains in the distance belied the warmer climes on the sea shore across the week. We hope to return later in the year for another injection of sea and mountain air.

  • "Great house."

Lovely large rooms and clean. Only downside of this house is the garden. Without a fence or gate at all it isn’t particularly usable with a dog, and makes you feel as though you are sitting in the road with the area just outside the patio doors. Other than that it’s great. Love the new kitchen.

No matter what you do someone is sure to complain about something. We have been letting Min y Traeth now for 10 - 11 years and while a dog is welcome dog owners know that the garden is not enclosed. Property Owner

  • "The house is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac with a two minute walk to the beach."

There is a hill to climb either way to get to the main High Street but it’s not too steep and is a good way to work off some calories especially if you’ve stopped at Cadwalladers ice cream parlour! The property was very clean throughout, the bed was very comfortable and the rooms are very spacious. Due to Covid protocols there were no scatter cushions in the lounge so if you’re not very tall like myself I would recommend bringing one from home. I also found the dining chairs were a little too low for the dining table so I used the wedge cushion from my car. Apart from that everything else was excellent. We had a small problem with the TV stand and reported it to the owner and it was replaced with another TV within a few hours. All in all we had a lovely weather and it was a good holiday and I would recommend this property.

  • "The listing specifically stated that there would be towels included."

Two days before we were due to go the owner e-mailed to say they would not be provided, due to COVID. We queried this and checked the Sykes website, the owner then agreed to provide them. All the outside lights had, had their bulbs removed. Extra time is given for cleaning, however it was not spotless and the oven set the smoke alarms off each time we used it, as it needs a proper clean. The location is two minutes walk from the seafront and is handy for exploring Snowdonia.

Thank you very much for leaving a review. We have stopped providing towels during the pandemic, however we are providing them now. We have checked the outside lights and everything was in order. We have always had positive feedback in regards to the cleanliness of the property, however next time if you are having any difficulties please let us know! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your time at Min Y Traeth and that you loved the location. Thank you again for your comments. Property Owner

There was just 1 black bin liner for the week with 4 adults sharing. This one bin liner was for everything food waste, paper, bottles ? As you can imagine in hot weather this would start to smell and attract flies. I rang the cleaner up and she said to just leave it in the garage ? We cannot understand why there was not bins provided in this property when all the rest of the neighbours had them? Also the outside of the windows were filthy full of cobwebs etc We needed up cleaning the outside the kitchen windows ourselves as they were so dirty? Also the place could do with a lick of paint. Just one other point the property would benefit with a second Double bed rather than 4 single beds, But on the positive side The property was in a great position for the beach etc. We would happily return, Hopefully the waste issues will be resolved next time Thank you David

Kids aged 11-17. A great holiday property. Very clean and all the facilities you would need. Great water pressure for the showers! Kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, knives etc. We took our dog and it was great for him too. The only downside being that the back garden area is unfenced but we knew that when we booked and we managed fine with a long line tethered to the ground. Nice touches like fresh flowers and welsh cakes were an added bonus. Would have liked more info on recycling, we left it all together in the garage as requested but I think it has to be segregated in Gwynedd area? A great house, close to the beach and loads to do in the area and hope to book again soon. Thank you.

The property

A fantastic, modern, detached Criccieth cottage on a cul-de-sac in the centre of the town, with views to the beach and sea from the front of the property, and of Criccieth Castle to the side.

This Criccieth cottage has been tastefully furnished and offers spacious accommodation, while outside, open lawned gardens and a patio area are ideal for relaxing and enjoying the sunshine while the children play.

Criccieth has two superb beaches, one within 100 metres of this Criccieth cottage, which is perfect for swimming, watersports and rock-pooling, and if you are lucky, you may spot one of the visiting dolphins who enjoy the warm gulf stream that flows along this beautiful coast.

Situated on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, Criccieth is a delightful town with an array of shops, pubs and restaurants on your doorstep, as well as Criccieth Castle which was built in the 13th century and dominates the landscape on its rocky perch at one end of the town.

Other local attractions include the world-famous village of Portmeirion, the Italianate village where The Prisoner was filmed, or Porthmadog, home of the Ffestiniog Railway - an old steam train that takes you high into the Snowdonia range.

This Criccieth cottage is ideal for a family getaway, all year round.
