  • "Beudy Mawr is a lovely and tastefully converted cow shed with many original features."

The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could want. The 3 piece suite has been upgraded and was really comfortable, added bonus of reclining seats. Super-king size bed which was very comfy. The view from the patio via the bedroom towards Snowdonia / Snowdon is stunning and a lovely sight to wake up to. The cottage is ideally situated for seeing all of North Wales, triangulated between Caernarfon, Llanberis and Bangor/Anglesey. Jane was very welcoming and the cakes/sausage rolls on arrival were delicious. Our dog also enjoyed her stay, having both the front courtyard and rear patio to wander around, as well as being able to walk her around some of the farm fields. Would recommend this cottage and others on site if you want to explore North Wales and would definitely return here if visiting area again. Diolch yn fawr Jane.

Lovely baked goodies… Could be better - fix the shower head - none of the pots and pans were clean had to be hand washed. - cob webs every where - squeaky doors, could be oiled or greased. Had problems sleeping with this

  • "Beudy Mawr cottage was just what we wanted."

We were greeted by Jane and a fabulous selection of cakes on arrival. The cottage was nicely equipped like a home would be. It felt homely with the decoration and the garden at the back by the main bedroom was perfect and secure for the dogs. If you’re lucky and have good weather you can sit at the garden table enjoying a gin and gazing at the Incredible views of Snowdonia. I also loved sheep, chickens and ducks as our neighbours. The location is rural but if you feel inclined, close to plenty of activities. The only slight negatives for me as someone who has back / neck issues is the angel of bed for tv and the mattress being to hard for me a side sleeper (thankfully it was super king so tossing and turning wasn’t to much of an issue), I appreciate everyone has their own personal preferences so the right mattress for me would not be right for someone else. We enjoyed fresh / scented bed linen. I would absolutely recommend Beudy Mawr Cottage!

  • "We had a fantastic week!"

We arrived to a table set for tea with an array of home-baked goodies, which was such a lovely touch and really set the scene for the rest of our holiday. The barn is beautifully converted and well stocked, and we really appreciated the enormous bed and comfortable sofas. The upstairs was perfect for our two children, who loved the treat of having their own bathroom (with massive bath) and TV! The views from the back garden are spectacular; the children loved saying hello to the sheep in the morning, and we really appreciated being able to let our dog out knowing the garden was completely secure. The accommodation is an easy drive from attractions including Anglesey, Zip World, Snowdon and Conwy, as well as a big Tesco and great fish and chip shop. We will be recommending Beudy Mawr to family and friends, and wouldn't hesitate to book again in the future. Thank you Jane!

On arrival we found a whole load of baking had been done for us. Sausage rolls, welsh cakes, flapjack, a large Victoria sponge, and other cakes! Amazing! The cottage has ample parking outside. The kitchen has everything you need and sits at the centre of the property. It has a large open plan living area (kitchen, sofa, TV etc), a twin bedroom upstairs and the main bedroom downstairs. The main bedroom has a door that leads to a small garden at the back that has lovely views over the fields, and we were often met by sheep on the other side of the wall in a morning. Overall we loved it and would certainly return. It's a great base from which to explore North Wales.

I’m not sure why these views aren’t shown on the website as they would be a great selling point! We had a warm welcome from Jane who had a little feast of homemade goodies waiting for us on arrival, all of which were delicious:) she even made us Welsh cakes for our long journey home at the end of the week, these little touches really do make a difference. The only negatives about the cottage would be that the kitchen is looking a bit tired and there were cobwebs around the lights and on the ceilings, not being a lover of spiders myself I notice these things ☺️ that’s me being ultra picky and it wouldn’t stop me from staying there again as we had a wonderful time. Thanks again Jane for the goodies and a lovely holiday, hope the calf is doing ok! X

  • "The cottage is perfectly located for accessing all the best attractions in Snowdonia and although near the road it's very quiet."

There are lovely views towards the mountains from the bedroom which leads out on to a patio and occasionally the chickens pay a visit. The shower in the lovely ensuite is extremely spacious. Apart from a little difficulty at the front door as there is no ramp, it was perfect for us as my husband has limited mobility and having the very spacious main bedroom made manoeuvring the wheel chair fairly easy. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you need and although pets are welcome there were no pet odours as we've found in other pet friendly cottages. Everything worked as it should so no complaints about any of the equipment or heating and the bath upstairs was just wonderful. The lovely owner, Jane, very generously provided welcoming tea and cakes on arrival. As it was lambing time we didn't see her again till we left but we had a great week exploring despite the weather. We'd definitely return to this lovely cottage.

.. The cottage itself had everything you needed you live and relax in comfort and the host (Jane) was super super helpful. On arrival we were treated to cakes and tea and had a constant supply of logs to keep the fire going. The location meant we had chickens and cows within our surroundings and it felt so remote but so close to the adventure. Without doubt we will be booking again - hopefully the same cottage (I believe there are three) - very very soon. Loved every minute - thank you Jane.

Large master bedroom on the ground floor, with great bathroom, and opening onto private garden. Spectacular views of mountains. Comfortable living-room - great wood-stove and TV. Well-equipped kitchen. Second bedroom upstairs, with its own bathroom. Easy access, with parking right outside the door. On a working farm, with sheep right outside the bedroom windows. All very close to Bangor (less than 10 minutes by car), on good roads. A great base for exploring Snowdonia and Anglesey.

  • "This is the first time we have booked with Sykes although we have stayed in the North Wales area many times via other holiday accommodation providers."

From beginning to end, the booking process was very smooth. We received all necessary directions and access arrangements a week before. The cottage was very spacious and warm and facilities were everything we needed. Even the shower was really powerful - often this is a problem in rural properties. The views from the back garden were stunning and the passing sheep, cows and chickens kept our dog amused. It was like doggie TV!! Jane (the owner) was really welcoming and her homemade welsh cakes and bara brith were gorgeous. If we had one criticism, we like to be able to access dog walks straight from the cottages we stay in but this was not possible. It wasn’t a major problem as the area has so many stunning areas to visit so our dog just had to be a little patient!

The downstairs bedroom was excellent. The upstairs bedroom would be better if the beds were slightly wider and you could hang adult clothes in the wardrobe. I’d also swap the metal patio set in the back garden with the comfortable one in the front as the view from the back garden (no photo on the website) was stunning. Neither garden was secure for my Yorkie due to the gates. The Satnav took us past the house and to the pub and we missed it the first time although there is a sign.

There wasn’t anything in walking distance but we knew that but lots of things in driving distance.
