  • "Lovely place with lots of character."

Had all the home comforts to make for a very pleasant stay. It was especially nice to have all the materials needed for a woodburner fire every evening. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back next time we come to this part of Wales.

  • "Charming cottage with access to garden and views."

The cottage was perfect for me visiting area to kayak. There was parking for one vehicle and plenty of places to leave my kayak and gear. The double bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. If there was the max 4 persons staying the cottage would have felt too small for me personally. Kitchen cutlery needs checking as there was only 1 teaspoon! Overall loved the place and would stay again.

thank you for your feedback. we're glad you enjoyed your stay. we're sorry about the teaspoons that has now been rectified. who takes teaspoons? Once again thanks for your feedback. looking forward to seeing you again Property Owner

  • "The owner of the property was welcoming and greeted us before we go inside the property."

The property is stone built and was very clean. Clean bed and clean towels were provided. Ample parking spaces. It was easy to locate the property, I did call owner before leaving and he did provide a POI to look for. Overall it was a good little, quiet place for couples. The property has a back path that gives you access to a deck and a bench to look over the mountain. Only issue was the water pressure… it was in the middle just enough water to wash up. Will recommend if couples would like to getaway from the City life and enjoy the quietness that Wales provides. There is an Aldi and Home bargains near by too.

Thank you so much for your feedback. It would appear that welsh water were carrying out repairs in the area. Look forward to seeing you again Property Owner

  • "I feel it should be stressed that the stairs are narrow especially the treads and are very difficult to use if you have mobility difficulties."

As there wasn't a cupboard in the kitchen area, storage space for food was very limited, as was hanging space for clothes up stairs due to the lack of a wardrobe.

Thank you for your comments.we have now made room for food storage. With regard to storage in the bedroom we did feel 5 drawers and three hangers were sufficient clothes storage for a short stay. With regard to the stairs....unfortunately as this is a 600 year old cottage we are not allowed to change the stairs.sorry if this caused problems for you. Property Owner

  • "What a beautiful remote Welsh cottage surrounded by stunning scenery."

Quiet and quaint property with everything that you need for a short stay, only a few miles in either direction for all your amenities Just a little CC, which the owners might like to consider, firstly we were very surprised to find we had to make our own bed. I’ve never had to do this in any accommodation before specially after a long drive, also it might be better if you had a fitted sheet rather than a flat sheet for ease and we found the bed very hard and not comfortable for our tastes so we had to get the quilts from second bedroom to make a mattress topper, which you might like to include, then people can decide for themselves on the firmness of the mattress I would definitely recommend this accommodation and stay again if we were in the area

Huge apologies for having to make your own bed. This was a lack of communication between my husband and I....the beds are obviously normally made up for guests. So glad this hasn't put you off and we look forward to welcoming you in the future. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was really cosy and the owners next door were very helpful."

Set in a beautiful location surrounded by lots of hills and with a view of the river and steam railway line in the distance. The garden was great for the kids to run around in and had two areas for outdoor dining. A few points for improvement … a washing up bowl in the kitchen, as well as a kitchen bin would have been nice. Also the volume control needs to be replaced as certain buttons didn’t work. Also, the shower wasn’t very powerful. Overall though a great stay.

considering we live next door these points could have been resolved instantly. there has never in 2 years been a complaint about the shower. but thank you for your input Property Owner

  • "A lovely place to stay in the heart of the Welsh countryside for a family of 4."

Absolutely beautiful surroundings and good links with places to visit. You're within sight of the river and the surrounding hills. The cottage and its immediate surroundings are steeped in history situated on the manor of Owain Glendwyr, one of the last independent Welsh Princes; the hill behind the house is probably older still. Very helpful owners - we want to return.
