We were made to feel very welcome by the owners. The bottle of local cider and cake were a nice touch (thank you). The location is excellent, with easy access to the mountains and the sea, plenty of great routes if you like walking. We recommend the short walk along the beach to Tý Coch Inn, at Morfa Nefyn, and continue around the headland to the lifeboat station. WiFi is good along with Freesat TV for those wet days.

  • "The listing on your website states that the property is a bungalow but in fact it is a cottage with a gate leg staircase and three steps to negotiate from the car parking space and also the patio, all of which make it unsuitable for anyone with limited mobility."

The owner did say that he has asked for the listing to be amended. However the cottage is well equipped and was extremely clean and very welcoming. The garden and lake is a real bonus and has a variety of seating for visitors. The bara brith and wine was much appreciated.

  • "It was lovely to be back at The Little Coach House ."

I have been fortunate enough to visit several times now , in different seasons , and it is always a pleasure. Karen and Russ are wonderful hosts , ( thank you for the bara brith and the bottle of wine ! ) The Little Coach House is always spotlessly clean and very comfortable , the location is beautiful , and the weather was fantastic this time too ! It’s a wonderful place to stay. I’d just like to point out that the listing on the Menai Cottages site may be slightly misleading, as it states that the Little Coach House is a bungalow , with level access . This could be a problem for any potential visitors with mobility difficulties , if they had thought from the description on the website that it was completely accessible for them , with level access and no stairs to negotiate. It is actually a little house , on two floors , with a staircase leading to the second floor bedroom and bathroom . There are also some shallow steps leading down from the private parking place for The Little Coach House. Additionally , as the private courtyard garden is on two levels , there are also some steps between the different levels. Maybe some indication of this on the website would be helpful for those who are thinking of booking a stay , but have limited mobility ?

The property had all that was needed, the surroundings were beautiful. The location was perfect. Russ and Karen were hospitable and helpful. There were plenty of places to sit out and enjoy if you didn't feel like going out, or if you wanted to relax after a busy day. Although the dog needed to be on the lead when on the grounds due to livestock, this was not an inconvenience and there were plenty of places to take her for a morning or late evening stroll. Although the property is attached to another, there was very little if no noise from our neighbours apart from the occasional bark of a dog. We can't recommend this place highly enough.

The coach house is cosy downstairs and has a spacious bedroom/ dressing area with TV. There are lovely landscaped garden views from every window. The gardens have various seating areas you can use and a summer house which contained DVDs and board games to borrow. There is a pleasant walk to a private lake which also has seating areas and sun lounges; there are boats you can use but we didn't! It is a pity that due to live stock our dog had to be on a lead but we quite understood. The Little Coach House is one of two fabulous holiday cottages set within the tranquil grounds of Tyddyn Mawr House nestled in the beautiful Welsh countryside near Porthmadog.

There is 14 acres of land to explore, including well-maintained gardens, with seating areas tucked around every corner, and a delightful summer house stocked with library books and DVDs.

The bright and airy open planned living space optimises the ground floor of the cottage.

The kitchen is well equipped with everything that you could need with a dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven and hob, fridge / freezer, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. There is a dining table for up to four people and a comfortable seating area with a TV, DVD player and electric fire.

There is a ground floor loo with hand basin. The gorgeous ensuite double bedroom has a king size bed, TV with built in DVD player and attached dressing room with built in wardrobes and dressing table.

The bathroom has a bath with shower attachment, loo, towel radiator and hand basin.

Outside there is a private and enclosed paved seating area.

You can also explore the 14 acres of shared grounds which includes attractive gardens, a summer house, a lake for wild swimming or fishing and farmed fields. The Little Coach House is a wonderfully romantic cottage, with ample space and a private courtyard garden.

The cosy, comfortable furnishings, bold French pieces and a traditional dressing room give this cottage a real touch of luxury.

You could easily spend a holiday here without ever needing to leave the grounds, but if a day’s exploration is on the cards you have the historic town of Criccieth with its castle and beaches, the shops and heritage railway of Porthmadog and the Snowdonia National Park all just a short drive away. If you need a little extra space, Garden Cottage and The Honey Pot are both on the same site and can potentially be booked concurrently.
