  • "The property is everything and more that larger family and pets could wish for."

Really well equipped kitchen, plenty of space and views to die for. My only concern was the low, squishy settees not ideal for hubby who has mobility problems but this would not be a problem for everyone. We all had a great week and Sian was a great host. Meeting is at the beginning of the holiday and explaining various things regarding the property.

  • "We recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming rural farm cottage in Wales with our family and five dogs, and it was a truly memorable experience."

The setting was wonderfully secluded, offering us the perfect opportunity to disconnect and enjoy the serene countryside. The cottage itself was cozy and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights was how dog-friendly the property was, with plenty of space for our dogs to roam and explore the surrounding fields. The owners were very accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay with our furry companions. However, we did notice a bit of mould in some areas of the cottage, which could have been addressed with a more thorough cleaning. While it didn’t significantly impact our enjoyment, a bit more attention to cleanliness would have made the stay even better. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the Welsh countryside. It's a great spot for families and dog lovers alike, and with just a few improvements, it could be truly exceptional

The property is in an amazing area with nothing much around you. It was our second visit. The dogs loved it - yes the farm dogs and a Jack Russell visited the garden but were all soon shooed away. Sian was lovely and kept communicating with us but left us to it too. Sian was very friendly and helpful, sorting out an issue that arose in the week very quickly. The location of the cottage is wonderful, with views of the Lleyn peninsula and the surrounding hills. Criccieth and Porthmadog are nearby and there are also lovely walks from the cottage itself. I hope we will be able to return someday.

She made sure we were okay with the everything before leaving us to enjoy our stay. The views are amazing 360 degrees. The only noise is the sheep and the birds so tranquil you could stay forever. The local places to visit were great with beaches which were mostly dog friendly and as we had 5 dogs were greatly enjoyed. There were also some nice peaceful walks around the cottage as well. Would certainly recommend staying here to anyone.

  • "The house is in need of a thorough clean."

The garden is not suitably secure enough to keep dogs inside or the farm dogs out, particularly when the farm dogs came into the garden several times a day to wee on everything and leave their poop behind which we then had to clean up, this also meant we couldn’t let our dogs free roam in the garden as a couple are not dog friendly and they could get through the fence too. The showers were barely functional, imagine a watering can with a flower head on the can…. One of the lounge rooms furniture was so hard and uncomfortable to sit on, it was like sitting on concrete. The beds were ok. We were a group of 7 adults and 2 children. The fridge and freezer space was minimal. Overall our stay would have been much better if we had all had a little more comfort along with freedom to let the dogs in the garden without constant supervision. The location was perfect, beautiful scenery, peaceful surroundings with lovely walks.

Thank you for your feedback, I am very sorry to hear that you encountered some issues while you were away. We contacted you midweek to check everything was ok and your words were 'all fab no problems thank you' If you had highlighted any issues at that point we would have done our best to get this rectified straight away. Settees and beds etc are subjective and we have never had anyone say the furniture was like concrete. We are glad you enjoyed the location. Property Owner

  • "One of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had."

The cottage is idyllic it as all the charms of the countryside that town folk like us would love to retire to permanently. 7 days is definitely not long enough to stay in this gem of a cottage with your four legged best friends. The countryside surrounding the cottage is so beautiful and rugged and you are nestled between Snowdonia and criccieth in a beautiful semi isolation boasting both mountains and seaside that you can hike straight from the house discovering all the walks this abode's location offers on its doorstep. Black Rock sands near Porthmadog was our dogs favourite haunt running between the waters edge and the sand dunes on every dogs dream the sniffari. Returning to the cottage's warm fires in the evening tired after long glorious walks with our five fur buddies was heavenly. The pups stretched out on the rug in front of the fire and us snuggled on the cosy couches was so heart warming as they dreamed of their daytime adventures noses and paws twitching and we reflected on ours. But the cottage is so tranquil, cosy and homely that staying home and reading a book in this beautiful country cottage is just as appealing and fulfilling There is nothing hotel like about this holiday let it feels like home your ideal home. The enclosed garden is large even for a golden doodle a springer spaniel and 3 large sproodles. There is also 12 acres of land adjacent to the cottage for your furry friends and you to explore but livestock sometimes grazes the field so just be mindful of this. The kitchen/ dining room is spacious well stocked with utensils and equipment enabling you to cook up anything you wish to make, needs a teapot however for us Yorkshire folk lol tea is black gold to us Sian . The shops are not to far away in porthmadog so supplies can be topped up anytime and the nearby village of portmeirion from the prisoner can be explored in all its mediterranean glory. The bedrooms are spacious, beautiful and the beds comfortable and warm There is a lovely deep bath upstairs and a gorgeous shower for relaxing and pampering tired muscles after all the fresh air and long walks Sian is lovely and allows you to relax in privacy whilst still keeping in touch via text if required. I will be booking again for another wonderful winter experience thank you Sian for sharing my family and I's dream cottage. It was winter when we came so was cold so we can not comment on what the sunny days at this property are like my bet is just as wonderful ,

Once again we found the perfect combination of rest, relaxation and some much needed family time, with all our pups with us. We absolutely love it at the house, its a world away from the normal stresses and strains of day to day life. We were once again transported into a place with exceptional views and the most stunning surroundings, so much so that we all feel so sad when its time to pack up and leave. The house was once again perfect, spotlessly clean, wonderfully cosy, and set up to make us all feel welcome, including special arrangements once again being made by Sian for the disabled member of our group. Nothing is ever too much trouble for her and once again she made it clear that she was just a text away should we need her, which is always reassuring. We have booked to return for a 4th time next year, but for two weeks next time, because trust me, one week in that cosy cottage, surrounded by those beautiful views, could never be enough.

  • "A very disappointing stay here."

Not what we expected after reading all the raving reviews. We arrived to a broken front door which meant we couldn't lock the property all week; the owner promised it would be looked at but we never heard from her all week about it. This made us feel extremely uncomfortable. None of the bedroom bins had been emptied from the previous guests. The toaster was also broken. The dishwasher has a dodgy button which meant it was pot luck if it worked or not. My daughter dropped something under the sofa and when we moved it to get it there were clumps of dog hair. The window in one of the bedrooms was locked shut and no key was available. The brown sofas are rock hard. The property does have a lovely large garden, however it is fenced with a strand of barbed wire at the top. The visiting dogs jumped the fence every day to use the garden as a toilet - we had to pick up dog mess every day from them. Cleanliness was not the best either - dead plants in the kitchen, worn out 'trinkets' and the previous occupants dirty dish clothes. Everything about the property is basic, (take your own knives!) I have raised all of these issue with the owner but so far have not received a reply.

Thank you for your comments. We are very sad to hear that you were unhappy with your stay. We pride ourselves in being a dog friendly cottage. If we were made aware of these issues during your stay it would have been in our best interest to make sure your stay was more comfortable and we could have resolved these for you. If you’re looking for a peaceful holiday home in the country that allows dogs this place is for you. The holiday home is surrounded by fields and there is a farm nearby. A secure garden for our small dog. Sian the owner was helpful, we met at her home on check in day to show us exactly where the property was. This was really very good as the sat nav only took you so far down the country lane. We had a very comfortable stay. The kitchen had all you would need to be able to cook meals here if you wanted. To have a freezer in the kitchen was a bonus. We loved seeing the sheep, lambs, chickens and horses in the field’s surrounding the property. We were lucky to have been staying when a foal was born. The house was easy to keep clean as downstairs floors were ceramic tiles and rugs. Upstairs is carpeted except for the modern bathroom. We were lucky we had a warm spell of weather during our holiday but could keep the rooms cool easily as lots of windows could be opened. Ideally located for where we wanted to visit Portmeirion, Criccieth, Porthmadog & Harlech. Train service at Criccieth is very good.

Sian and family are very friendly and were on hand if needed. She recommended walking to the next house for eggs, amazing eggs!! The beds were super comfy and we all slept well. The cottage is beautiful, set in picturesque and tranquil surroundings with the most stunning views from literally every window. I couldn’t get over how beautiful it was. We took 6 dogs with us and you’d honestly never know dogs were allowed as the place is kept immaculate. The cottage is in a perfect location with so many great places to visit. There is a comprehensive and informative welcome pack and visitor book which I’d recommend reading through so that you can get tips on places to visit etc... The cottage has excellent heating (if needed), lovely bedrooms and a wonderful large bathroom upstairs (plus a second downstairs) The kitchen is a fabulous size with a large table seating 8-10 comfortably. Kitchen equipment is vast and spotless. We found that the cottage had everything that we needed (and more!) and would love to one day return. Tips:- Zip World is very expensive - they have vouchers on the counter in their reception area for 10% off your next booking. So try to grab one before you book the activities! Places we enjoyed visiting:- Swallow Falls (Betwys y coed), Black Rock Sands (beach you drive directly onto!), Abersoch, Llanberis (beautiful steam train and of course Mt Snowdon!)

That's because your Satnav and the postcode won't take you far enough up the lane so when you run out of tarmac road, you don't know which muddy stony track to take. The cottage was well equipped or even to well equipped, the cupboards were rather full and some older worn items should probably be removed to provide more storage space for visitors. The owner was extremely helpful but the description should be amended because an open fire and starter pack are mentioned. However when we asked the owner about lighting the fire she said that nobody had lit the fire for about 10 years although she did provide us with a small starter pack the next day which included kindling, firelighters and a small amount of coal so we provided our own logs. There were also no tools for the open fire but the owner also provided a brush, spade and bucket although there was no poker or fireguard. In view of our experience and the owners comments to us, the mention of an open fire and starter pack in the description are both rather misleading. The cottage is in a beautiful picturesque location with lovely views but it's also a bit out of the way although not to far from local facilities in services. We all had a very enjoyable long weekend despite the attempts of storm Jorge to dampen our spirits and blow us away.

  • "The house is beautiful and in an amazing location."

Sian was at the village hall to take us the final stretch to the house which was very helpful as the satnav was not taking us anywhere near it! Sian was extremely helpful giving us a guided tour of the house and explaining all of the amenities to us. The pub in the village has unfortunately closed but that didnt affect us. Plenty of land to walk the dogs on and lots of fantastic places to visit in the near vicinity. The only down side for us was the local dogs barking most of the night which disturbed our dogs so we didn't get much undisturbed sleep whilst there. One of the sheep dogs visited the house regularly jumping over the walls into the garden and pooing. Having said that this was the only negative. The house is wonderful and Sian was very good at offering discrete support which was greatly appreciated.

Quite remote - long way to shops and pubs, but that did not matter to us. Dog friendly and plenty of space for the dog to run around outside. Great views of the sea a few miles away and the hills behind. Central for visiting many places of interest inland and on the coast. Nice welcome from the owner and discrete support throughout our time there.

8 adults and 5 dogs had a great weekend celebrating my sisters 50th birthday, the weather wasnt the best but that didnt deter us. Lovely house, comfortable and had everything you need for a holiday whether it is a weekend or a week. The garden is securely fenced so great for the dogs. Easy to find, directions perfect and the owner met us to show us around. Would definitely book again.

Nothing was too much trouble! Very friendly family. The owner even come to rescue us on arrival as we got lost! Cottage was fantastic and the views were amazing. There was nothing missing from the cottage, everything we needed was there. Our two dogs loved it too! Especially Jasper, the springer spaniel, he loved the amount of land he had to run round in. The cottage was clean, spacious and comfortable. As we stayed over Christmas, the cottage had been decorated lovely, with a tree and a few Christmas decorations around the two living rooms. We will be recommending to family and friends and will be returning in the near future. If you love the country, this is a must go to cottage, you will not be disappointed! You will see plenty of farm animals, sheep, horses, chickens and sheep dogs. Thanks again to the owner and her family for making our Christmas an enjoyable one.

The owners live locally and are friendly and available for support should it be needed but at no point intrusive into our time at the cottage. We were four adults and four large dogs, the facilities met all our needs, there are sheep surrounding the gardens which well are fenced, so pretty safe other than for dogs with drive and ability to jump a five bar gate. We didn't want to leave, all enjoyed being in a home from home at Tyn y Gorlan.
