  • "Nice cottage but TV's needs attention, lovely area and breathtaking views over estuary in a few minutes walk away."

  • "As detailed in all the instructions from Sykes we arrived just after 3pm."

We unloaded and the cleaners arrived saying arrival was 4pm so a bit of a mix up. However we managed to put all our items together and then went and did some shopping whilst they cleaned. Wasn’t a great problem but think instructions need to be clear from Sykes. The other problem we had was the TV didn’t work and the previous occupants had left a note to this effect. We eventually got through to someone in the Birmingham area who was very helpful and came and replaced the TV. The TV was replaced dry quickly and we were updated regularly. We forgot to report that the start button on the microwave was very hit and miss so may need looking at. On a more positive note the lounge was very comfortable as was the bed and we enjoyed our stay. The property is a short walk from Porthmadog town and the railway. There are also good walks to be done from the property if you do t want to use a car. A lovely quiet area.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay here."

Lovely clean comfy place and quiet too. Everything we needed. The games selection was really good, we played games every evening. Beds were very comfy with lovely soft sheets and gorgeous quilt covers. Fluffy towels too. We met the owner Kersti a lovely friendly woman, who said if we had any problems to contact her, but we had no problems. The only thing was the Sykes directions to the property said it was the end house and it's not, its 2nd to the end. Great having a parking space. Would definately go again. 2 minute walk to sea at Borth-y-Gest front and nice 15 minute walk to Porthmadog.

Very comfortable and welcoming home from home. Well equipped, pretty house, beds are great! Peacefully situated. Highly recommend.

Thank you so much for your feedback , much appreciated . I realise perhaps it isn't very modern. But I like to think people like yourselves , can consider it home from home . Thank you again , Kersti Spence Property Owner

Only quibble is the shower is now tricky to cope with, need to run around to get wet now !

  • "Comfortable, well equipped and with lots of nice decorative touches."

We enjoyed a very pleasant week in the cottage. A hoover that works would be useful plus a sweeping brush for the kitchen. Otherwise a lovely property.

The Cottage is really comfortable and our kids have a great time. There's loads to do both within walking distance, on the train and in the car. We can't wait to come back!

  • "Fabulous relaxed stay at the property."

Lovely area, quite and safe. Friendly locals. Property would benefit from a deep clean. Door frames were quite dirty, patio area has lots of weeds. There is an unpleasant whiff in the kitchen. I did wash the kitchen floor on arrival as it had obvious dirt on it, however no mop was available. Overall it was a well located property, easy access to the local beachs and coves and a pleasent walk along the costal path to Porthmadog

  • "Cottage on the Green not a cottage but a semi- detached house and part of an estate."

Situated close to the Bay of Borth-y- Gest. and headland a truly beautiful place and 1minute by car.a possible walk down but not for older people as it is very steep! Overall the accommodation was excellent but we were disappointed that the shower.over the bath had no grab rail and we would prefer a walk in shower. TV a smart version was frustrating and a phone call to Kirsty was required ,to enable us to get normal stations. Kirsty the owner was extermely helpful and stated that this was going to be replaced. We would definately go back if the two issues were rectified. A wonderful place to stay and close to all places of interest. Brian/Pauline

Great location. However the shower kept going from cold water to hot water and then tripping out.

  • "Overall the Cottage on the Green was great, the location was perfect for exploring the area."

The cottage was well equipped, and very well furnished, the kitchen had everything to enable us to prepare several meals and entertain ourselves in the evening. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds were comfortable. The outside space was nice, and we were able to make use of it with the good weather we had. The parking area was useful as parking in ByG is at a premium. The only negative point was the shower, we read a warning the owner had left about problems they had with the shower, so we did not run it on full power just in case, so it wasn't very warm or powerful.

  • "When first arrived at this cottage, opening the kitchen door the odour that greeted us was very unpleasant."

Also in the downstairs toilet you find it like a cleaners cupboard with a Ironing Board, bucket and mop. Mugs were stained one had been used and left, we put them all in dish washer which a mouldie knife was sitting in basket. After been in washer mugs came out spotless. We left before our time as this smell did not disappear even after windows had been opened. Would not recommend this cottage.

  • "Unlike other Sykes properties we have stayed in,our main criticism is one of cleanliness -a deep clean was needed."

There was a sock under the coffee table on arrival which indicated furniture had not been moved when vacuumed. When we attempted to clean the carpets, the Hoover was all clogged up.There were far too many nick nacks on all the surfaces so there was very limited space on which to put things. Thank you for arranging for us to have clean linen/towels for our second week, this should be automatic.
