  • "Fantastic holiday let."

The views are amazing, so interesting with the tide, the birds and the view of the steam trains. Being in the town is also great as there are loads of shops within walking distance. The property is very clean with everything you need for your stay.

  • "We found the accommodation exactly as described and what we had hoped for."

We were very comfortable and it was in such a good location for bird watching, steam trains and restaurants and pubs. Our only issue was with the request to strip the beds. We have stayed in many self catering cottages over the years and always aim to leave them as we found them. As this involves the beds being made up we do not feel we should be part of the changeover process. We have assumed the price we have been charged would cover preparing the accommodation for the next customers. Overall this appears to be a request which is for the convenience of the cleaner rather than the valued customer! As it takes very little time to strip beds but doing so spoils my holiday we politely suggest it is done by the providers. (full letter sent to Sykes separately.)

Very comfortable, stunning view, lovely location. There was nothing to be done to make it better. I would also like to say that I have never stayed in a rental with such a well equipped kitchen. Many thanks to the owner for such a lovely stay, plus the weather was fantastic.

It has a very well organised kitchen with every utensil you need. This open plan kitchen / living room has plenty of room to cook, dine and relax together. The bedrooms are light and the beds are extremely comfortable. The views are beautiful. We enjoyed watching the steam trains across the Cob and looking across the ever changing estuary to the mountains. It was a joy to watch the ducks and other seabirds. Just step outside onto the pretty harbour, the steam train station and a lovely town. We will return and can't wait to go back.

The beds and bedding were lovely and bathroom too. Upstairs was small, kitchen had plenty of equipment, in fact everything you could need. The settee is so uncomfortable might be ok for taller people. View is amazing and is why the property is so expensive considering its size. Lovely area too.

The views from the balcony are constantly changing, we spent lots of time just watching the tide changes. The situation is very convenient with several train stations. Supermarkets, Pubs and restaurants all within easy walking distance. Plenty of beaches a short drive away. A lovely holiday

  • "Very well equipped and comfortable."

Could not get satellite TV to work. If this is no longer available the blue folder needs to be amended. Could only get wifi to work on 4G phone. Unable to connect via laptop or tablets. We presume that this is because Three are 'decommissioning' 3G access, but it was somewhat frustrating and might be worth mentioning to prospective visitors Loved the view and proximity to steam trains.

Thank you for the feedback . We have been aware of a problem with WiFi etc but from 30/06/23 we have installed fibre and hopefully no longer need satellite . Greatly improved speeds are now available which should also improve the smart TV Netflix Prime etc if you should choose to use it . Property Owner

It’s in a great location for exploring the area on foot, by public transport or by car. The views from the lounge and balcony are fabulous, whatever the weather, with the added interest of the tides and steam trains. We’d be very happy to return!

  • "Thank you for an unforgettable stay."

Lovely place, very warm, comfortable and really well equipped. The location is amazing, close to all facilities and the view from the balcony is fantastic - it's probably the best feature about Aber Wharf. The only negative is the temperamental WIFI. I needed the internet for work and had to purchase a BT Wi-Fi access - not something I expected to do given the price of Aber Warf.

Thank you for your mostly positive review The WiFi problem was unfortunate . The Wi-Fi internet is usually stable . I wonder if they were working on the mast . We are considering upgrading to Fibre . Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Aber Wharf."

It exceeded our expectations. The property is modern, spacious and lets in lots of light, even on the duller days. It's extremely well equipped; if so inclined, you could make a full meal at the property. The beds are comfortable and the linen is clean and fresh. The views from the balcony overlook the estuary so you have a wonderful view of the Ffestiniog Railway trains as well as the little egrets and oystercatchers that frequent the area. We would certainly return in the future.

  • "Aber Wharf is perfectly situated with the Ffestiniog and Welsh mountain railway on the doorstep."

Portmeirion is a short driveway as well as Harlech Castle and beach. Porthmadog itself has good shops and facilities and everyone met were friendly and helpful. The property has a lovely view from the balcony and the kitchen is well equipped. Unfortunately there was an unpleasant musty/damp smell in the bedroom nearest the car park and no room for a wardrobe. Car parking was ok, but South Snowden Wharf itself is a little run down.

  • "Lovely charming property."

The wide angled lens used to take the photos is deceptive. The bedrooms are pretty small and the double bed is tiny. However when it comes to the balcony the photos simply don’t do it justice. It’s GORGEOUS. It’s bigger than the photos. The four of us often sat out there. The view is uninterrupted beauty. I will miss it. The small double bed was worth it just for the balcony. Overall a lovely property in a prime location. Lovely community of neighbours as well.

It is in a great spot with fantastic views across the estuary - always something going on, on the water. Lovely and peaceful. Very handy for shops and food (will be much better once eating in restrictions are lifted this week in restaurants). Kitchen is beautifully done and well supplied apart from the tiny fridge - which made it difficult to buy in much and we would have preferred a king size bed but that's just what we're used to. Really enjoyed our stay and would definately recommend.
