  • "Love our stay, would totally recommend to others."

Only slight issues were the big gap under the front door, but there was a big sausage to keep the draft out. The back door not closing at the bottom, leading to the kitchen area been cool, while the seating area of the room been lovely and cosy. The front and back door didn't spoil or break in any way, but if the drafts were sorted, I'd of not used the central heating as much, and saved the owner money.

Lounge was very comfortable everything you need in the kitchen. Beautiful bathroom. Only problem was you couldn't open windows . Perfect location hopefully going back next year.

  • "Gorgeous cottage in a perfect location."

Good space, bedrooms were all a good size, games room a bonus. Lounge was very comfy and useful to have the Smart TV. Bathroom was great - perfect for showering after a beach day. Recommendations: Kitchen is well done but could do with some small pots and pans, and the fridge was a struggle for the week as it was very small for a family of four who didn't want to eat out all of the time. Pillows and bedding could do with refreshing (especially in the master bedroom - front top floor). Also, in the warm weather, it would have been good to be able to open the windows as the house got quite stuffy. That said, it really is a fab cottage and it's an amazing location - our kids were thrilled to be so close to the park.

  • "This is a very nice property, very attractively fitted out, in a very pleasant location."

The property comfortably caters for 6 people and the games room was a real bonus as we had two children in the party. Parking close by, which we had anticipated might be a problem, was no trouble at all. Our only criticism is lack of ventilation in the bedrooms which could be stuffy. A problem with the internet connection was sorted by Mark as soon as reported. A very nice place to stay.

  • "Perfect location on the harbourside near two good pubs and a restaurant and only a short walk to town and the steam railway."

Nearby Borth-y-Gest beach is a lovely sandy beach, perfect for swimming and sandcastles although you need to watch the tide in the rocky areas at the edge. Games room is a really great feature for rainy days and there is a play park across the road for little ones. Well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Free parking a real bonus.

The kids bunk would be better in the games room as it was lacking space and I wasn't a fan of the bolier in their room. A beautiful place near the harbour, cracking little town, we had an amazing week, would definitely come back.

  • "We had a lovely stay here."

There was plenty of space for the four of us and the children loved the games room. The beds were comfortable and the living room was cosy for nights in. Being right by the harbour was the perfect location for crabbing and exploring. The only things we would say could be better were the cleanliness and the parking. It was clean on the surface but there was a used tissue under the bed, old bottles and a dusty sock under the sofas and the blinds in all the windows were filthy. There was also no dustbin or instructions for rubbish or recycling so we ended up with bin bags of rubbish just left in the kitchen which wasn't nice. That's why we only gave a 3 out of 5 for cleanliness. There was also no parking. Maybe it was because it was peak holiday time but every day we had to park a considerable distance from the house and then move the car to the house once all the day trippers had left. There was no parking within a 5 minute walk before about 6:00. But overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house.

Dear Penny, Thank you for choosing 1 Lombard Street as your base in Porthmadog. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that you would be happy to recommend the property. We appreciate your feedback regarding waste disposal, something also raised by another guest, we have now updated our guest information document to provide much clearer instructions. We have also taken on board your comment regarding the blinds and have purchased a new set for each room - this a great improvement. You must have been very unlucky not to find any parking as there is an abundance of free on-street parking and a free car park with approximately 30 spaces on the harbour front. If on the very rare occasion that these are all taken, there is a pay display car park directly behind the property. We hope you visit again soon. Kind regards, the owners Property Owner

  • "Great location, 5 minutes wallk to the BEST ice cream and fish and chips in N Wales."

Parking very easy, mostly outside but occasionally in the free car park round the corner, 30 seconds walk away. Two changes in the kitchen would elevate this cottage, a full size dishwasher could be fitted fairly easily and on the opposite wall to the oven a free standing fridge freezer (smeg for example )would need to add a wall socket but would be more suited to a family stay.

  • "Harbourside was very clean and comfortable with the decor and fitting lovely, just a bit to big for but that wasn't the owners fault."

Care would need to be taken for small children as the stairs are quite steep, The location was perfect for getting around Porthmadog and close to bus and train links to the rest of the area. Just three small niggles, we couldn't open the emergency exit (luckily not needed), the low level fridge and no freezer was a bit of a nuisance and bedroom windows noisy. We had a lovely stay thanks.

  • "Overall very nice."

Two points that bothered us over the week. There was (or we could not find) any outdoor rubbish bin or recycling bins. No windows open downstairs, making it super hot when combined with cooking and summer weather. Location was great and a nice character property. Cheers.

Dear Adam, Thank you for choosing 1 Lombard Street as your base in Porthmadog. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the property. Following your recommendation, an opening window has now been installed downstairs and a tower fan provided which should make the property more comfortable during the hot summer months. The guest information document has also been updated to provide clearer rubbish disposal instructions. We hope you visit again soon. Kind regards, the owners. Property Owner

  • "We had an amazing stay at Harbourside."

We would just say that the property needs a little TLC, it felt a bit unloved in places and the cleanliness when we arrived was okay, but it felt like some things had not been properly cleaned for a while. It could also do with 'getting ready' areas in the other two bedrooms - the back bedroom and triple-bunk bedroom as there wasn't really anywhere set up with a plug/mirror for hair drying etc. We would however definitely recommend the property, the location is outstanding; local amenities and scenery. We were very sad to leave!

  • "The property overall is great, the owners really thought about what people need."

Some great touches (I.e the wireless charging lamps in the bedroom. Love a gadget). The games room was a great hit with the kids. It's in a great location right next to the water front, pubs, restaurants and shops all within walking distance. If I was going to be really picky, the only thing the property is in need of is double glazing due to the road noise of the cobbled street and people walking past is quite loud. Although I get with the age of the building it'd be easier said than done. Saying that I would definitely go again.

  • "We could not recommend this property more highly!"

What a fabulous holiday home in a great location right by the harbour, less than 5 minutes walk from the High Street and with pubs and restaurants within a minutes walk. We had no problems with parking right outside the house and there are 2 carpark within 30 seconds walk from the house. The house is spotlessly clean and has been furnished to a high standard. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, the lounge area is very comfortable and the games room on the first floor went down very well with our 11 year old and 14 year old giving them plenty to do and their own space. All beds were very comfortable with nice, super clean bedding. Plenty of storage too for clothes and for once a good amount of hangers! Loved the wireless charging bedside lamps in the huge master bedroom! Lovely clean bathroom with a huge walk in shower with plenty of hot water. The house was very warm with a good heating system and a good electric fire in the lounge. The communication from the owners was great both prior to our arrival and whilst we were staying. We appreciated the extra touches like the boxes of tissues, cleaning products in the kitchen, extra loo rolls, board games, videos & tourist info in the lounge side table. Thank you Mark & Nat, we will be back!

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Harbourside and had everything that we needed."

There was plenty of room in the house and we were 3 couples. We stayed on a very cold weekend at the beginning of December and the only complaint that we had was that the ground floor open plan room was cold. There was one radiator to heat a large room and this was not enough. We also used the electric fire but this made little difference to the room. All rooms on both upper floors were fine and we had no issues with the heating here. We loved the house and the location was excellent. I would recommend it to friends and family.

There were 6 of us staying for 3 nights and the property was adequately equipped for all of us. Check in instructions were easy to understand and we had no problems with key safe. On street parking was outside the property or on the street. the kitchen had recently been refurbished and it was a lovely space to work in and sit in to make brews and meals. The games room was great for my 5 year old grandson. However we didn't use it much because the weather was glorious and we were out and about for most of the time. On the whole a great property.

The property has its own quirks with some modern touches, we loved the wireless speaker lamp! In my view the the owners are very lucky to own such a special house. We enjoyed our stay so Thankyou very much for sharing this Gem with us. The house was tidy and clean although dusty, I had to find a duster and dust around the lounge particularly round the tv area. This may be because it was cleaned after the last guest, but not been used for some days/ weeks. Also my husband walked through a big cobwebs when he first went into the kitchen. When looking for a container with a lid in the kitchen I noticed the kitchen was well equipped and has everything you need. One thing I noticed, which I wasn’t pleased about was that a glass butter dish was stored away unwashed, I left this out on the last day to make sure the owners/ cleaners cleaned this. Other than the cobweb/some dust/ dirty butter dish ( bear in mind this didn’t impact our stay) our only other complain was that there was no pillow protectors used and our bed had 4 pillows but only two had covers, there were no spare pillow cases in the house, which didn’t help either. I was disappointed at this as I’m a very clean and hygienic person and considering the covid times pillows with no protective covers And Pillow cases isn’t good! The mattress in the main bedroom is uncomfortable, springy and the bed creeks a lot! You just need to sit on the bed to hear it creek. also in the other bedrooms the mattresses/ beds are not any better in terms of being more comfy. As this is a holiday let I would recommend the owners invest in some good mattresses, after all a good night sleep is sometimes all that is needed when holidaying away from home.
