"BEAUTIFULLY FURNISHED AND KITTED OUT APARTMENT."
WHEN I CONTACTED THE OWNER WITH A CONCERN ABOUT THE IRON A BRAND NEW ONE WAS DROPPED ROUND WITHIN A COUPLE OF HOURS. GREAT RESPONSE.
THE APARTMENT IS IN A FABULOUS POSITION ONE COULD SPEND ALL DAY WATCHING THE BOATS AND BIRDS WHILST RELAXING ON THE PATIO LOOKING AT THE VIEW. IT IS JUST A COUPLE OF MINUTES WALK TO 3 PUBS FOR DRINKS OR FOOD AND UNDER 10 MINUTES WALK TO THE HIGH STREET AND WELSH HIGHLAND RAILWAY STATION FOR YOUR STEAM TRAIN JOURNEY. I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO BOOK AGAIN.
Thank you very much for your lovely feedback.

"A wonderful location right by the harbour to view the goings on, both human and wildlife, from seeing which boat has just arrived to spotting an otter and witnessing fledgling sparrows and housemartins."
We didn't use the car at all. We used public transport to get around (bus stop five minutes walk), the Ffestiniog railway (five minutes walk) and you can see the trains from the apartment, and rambling around the coast path. High street shops and large supermarket very close by. A comfortable property just right for two.
Many thanks for your lovely feedback.

"This was a lovely place to stay."
Everything was as described. The apartment was well furnished with a comfortable bed and seating in the lounge area. It was very quiet. Lovely views of the river. Somewhere we would go back to.

"Nice clean little apartment, nice views out the patio door, parking right outside the property which is a bit tight for the larger vehicle but they warn about that, only a few minutes walk into Porthmadog itself and 10 mins max to the steam trains, couple of little niggles but otherwise great property for 2 (or 1 in my case)."
Hot water is on a timer so need to remember to set the timer before its needed.
Niggles = being a full glass front door the street light opposite shines into the entrance area so needing the bedroom door closed or partially to keep the light out. Can see where a couple of areas have been touched up but could possibly benefit from a repaint
Peter,
Many thanks for the feedback, we have had comments re the front door before and will be looking to add a curtain at the end of this season but in the meantime you could just of closed the bedroom door?
The hot water is on a timer to save on costs, once the timer has been clicked it will stay on for 1.5 hours, the water in the tank is still hot and remains hot for hours?
The property was completely refurbished & redecorated in January/February so your comment about the property benefiting form a repaint is slightly offensive and totally incorrect.
There is one area in the bedroom that needs attention as we ran out of time when refurbishing the property to get this area finished, the patch (a circle 4/5 inches across) is sealed and has been painted but needs to be sanded/filled and repainted but that is it!
We have just updated the property at a huge personal cost to Louise & myself yet people still seem to find it appropriate to leave negative remarks for tiny little niggles, I wonder why we bother sometimes!
Regards
Paul

"Warm, modern and comfortable apartment in a fantastic location."
We really appreciated the milk and cakes that were waiting for us. The air fryer was a great addition. We travelled by train and the location was excellent for us. If you can drag yourself from the stunning views, all facilities are in your doorstep alongside a myriad of bus and train services to travel further afield. We are already planning our next trip to the same accommodation which is the best recommendation we can give.
Thank you so much for your lovely review

"This is the second time we have stayed here."
The apartment is well equipped, very clean and comfortable. My husband’s mobility is poor so the apartment is ideal for us. It is easy to get to local eating places and the High Street. We love sitting in the window watching the boats and the birds whatever the weather. The accommodation is close to the steam railway as well. We hope to stay again in the near future. Thankyou.

"A small but perfectly adequate apartment, well equipped, Peaceful with lovely views over the estuary, Very close to town."
We had problems opening the front door most of the time, lock must be stiff, also the radiators were quite noisy most of the time. we had a lovely Christmas break away from the hustle & bustle

"Oakley View is a lovely little apartment in a perfect location."
To watch the views change constantly was just wonderful. Its a peaceful spot, a short walk from the harbour and the shops.
To improve I would suggest replacing the bathroom sink as it is cracked and ensure the heating is on particularly in the cooler months.
That said, the apartment is excellent value for money and we would happily recommend it.

"The apartment is very well located with a parking spot very near the entrance and only a few minutes walk to the town."
The views from the lounge are very impressive as it looks straight out onto the Glaslyn with mountain views in both directions. The apartment is comfortable and reasonably well equipped and although not immaculate is very good for the price. The electric heating was adequate for relatively mild November weather.
Overall I would definitely recommend.

"Very good stay."
Would definitely come back again. Outdoor space even better than seems on photos as good views up and down the estuary and (certainly at this time of year) dozens of housemartins flying around above and herons and osyter catchers by the side of the water. Many nest in the house over the hedge + only 10 mins walk to Borth-y-Gest (nice coastal village with good cafes) and another 20 mins to a first good beach and then about 10 mins more to a cracking beach (looking to Harlech castle over the water) which links up to the huge, wonderful sands which extend to Black Rock Sands beach and Criccieth beaches. Generally a great location for going north, east, west or south with so many great places within easy reach.
Would say, if helps, Portmerion not close to being worth the £20 each adult entrance fee (and we are the sort of people who like that sort of thing). £10 would have just about been OK.
All in all would def recommend

"A very comfortable property with a lovely view."
Particularly liked being at the end of the block of apartments. The parking space was a bonus though a bit tight if other cars are already in though there was parking on the road available as well. Very well placed for walking to local amenities and quiet while we were there. Would return.

"Perfect little flat."
Great location. Beautifully decorated. Despite being small the flat had everything you could need. Lovely outside space which caught the sun and had wonderful views. An outside bistro table and chairs would have been a perfect addition (appreciate chairs were in the cupboard but you don't to have taken these in and out all the time!). Overall a great stay though.

"The apartment was really nice, its location was great, having delightful views and really handy for the town."
There was everything you would need for a comfortable stay in a locality that can be used to discover other places within an easy drive of less than 1 hour. There was everything in apartment it was well equipped a little short on cupboard storage for food stuffs, and there was an annoying clicking from the electric radiators when they came on throughout the colder nights, which may need attention, but good reception for sky tv, and internet, overall a very pleasant and relaxing stay.
Thank you.
