  • "We had a lovely stay in the cottage."

Perfect location and easy parking. Comfortable and warm A key for the shed would have been useful, so we could have kept our bikes in there.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Wharf Cottage."

It was comfortable and very convenient for the town's restaurants and shops and also for the canal boat experience. Lovely views from the outside areas. Shortfalls - only one very small chopping board and no wooden spoons! Also, why all the clutter? Too many unnecessary ornaments which didn't really enhance the charm of this otherwise characterful cottage. More is less! We would have appreciated some information regarding the cottage, it's history etc Overall we would recommend this property for it's comfort and location. Many thanks.

  • "The kitchen was excellent."

Bedrooms nice. Bathroom the shower was not working correctly but leaking. The living room was a bit musty but really not big enough for 4 Adults especially when eating. The outside areas with views were wonderful but you do need the weather . I would visit again if there was a discount involved.

  • "Perfect location, lovely views from the garden, great to have parking in the middle of a town."

Only negatives - too many antiques and breakable things everywhere, luckily I have older kids, and there was no welcome book with info about how to use anything, when the bins went out etc.. Otherwise we had a great break at Wharf Cottage.

  • "We had a lovely stay in the quirky cottage, was lovely to be right by the canal."

Was a comfy cottage with great facilities, and great location. As other reviewers have said, there are too many ornaments and trinkets meaning it's a worry (with a 6 year old) about potential breakages. Unfortunately I did break an ornament which was on a shelf right by the window, which I accidentally knocked when trying to reach the curtains. There's also a lack of space on surfaces to put our own things due to the trinkets, lovely as they are! The cottage would also benefit from some kind of manual covering basic things like when to put the recycling out. When we were there the bins were full to the brim likely because they weren't put out on collection day by previous guests, as they didn't know when to do this. Also other general information on the cottage and amenities would be helpful, eg we were keen to lock our bikes in one of the outhouses but no key. Also wasnt sure about use of the kayak. Overall though, a lovely stay and would recommend! These are just points to improve the experience for future guests.

  • "Lovely stay at this charming, clean and very well equipped cottage."

It has all the charm of an oldie worldie cottage with a modern kitchen and bathroom and comfortable bedrooms. Excellent location albeit on a steep incline and two minutes walk into the center of town. Highly recommend and will return in future.

  • "Beautiful inside."

Lovely views over town and hills. Everything we needed. Close to town and lovely walks to the castle or along canal. Fine for us but note if you have children it has lots of lovely breakables.
