  • "Ideal place to relax and unwind."

Had everything you could possibly need, loved sitting in the conservatory watching the sheep and horses then a bit of star gazing at night. Would definitely go back.

Views are superb and there are some good walks right from the cottage door. Very clean and well equipped. The bed is huge and very comfy! Paul and Caroline are perfect hosts, very helpful but not intrusive. Perfect location for both the Snowdonia national park and the Llyn Peninsula. Would highly recommend and hope to return soon.

Wet clothes would soon dry and the cottage was welcoming after a day's walk. The kitchen facilities were good for preparing meals. We had a very enjoyable stay and certainly enjoyed some lovely walks straight from the cottage.

  • "Paul and Caroline couldn't do more to make you feel at home in this amazing cottage."

There isn't a bad word I can say about it or the area it is in. To be able to sit outside and hear nothing but bird song and the bleating of sheep and lambs is, to me, perfect - add the awesome scenery and I could have stayed there forever. The cottage itself is beautiful and wonderfully finished. We plan to go back, at least once for some more relaxing days. Thank you Paul and Caroline for a lovely week and see you again soon.

  • "Despite awful weather, we had a wonderful stay at Melin Newydd."

The cottage was clean, cosy and we had everything we needed there. It was a pleasure to come back to after very wet days out! The surrounding scenery was spectacular and there was no noise or disturbance (and this was new year) so it was everything we enjoy on a short UK staycation. Thank you to the owners Paul and Caroline. We will certainly come again.

The owners are very welcoming and are on hand but not intrusive. The views of mountains are to die for with walks from doorstep especially with having a dog. The Goat pub which was a short distance down the road served wonderful food, best to book as it gets very busy.

  • "We had a lovely stay, despite the awful weather for July."

Lovely furniture for sitting outside when able. Great views from the conservatory. There is parking for the two other properties in the shared grounds. The cottage is attached to another and noise/voices can be heard through the wall, though minimal. There is a public footpath through the grounds though again minimal. Guess this would be used more in better weather. The property is located 3.5 miles from the main A487 along narrow lanes so expect to have to reverse up. You will lose signal when you turn off the main road but once at the cottage the WiFi is fine. We had a good break here and would return.

A peaceful & idyllic setting. The conservatory was a bonus, lovely place to sit & eat whilst watching the sunrise \ sunset, or the abundance of birds flying around including a pair of Buzzards. Also nice decked area to sit & eat outside as well. Absolutely wonderful hosts in Paul & Caroline, good communication prior arrival, nice friendly greeting & easy check in. As they live on site, always around if you need anything, but they respect the guests privacy. Would happily stay here next time we are visiting the area again.

  • "We really loved this little cottage it was great for us and our dog."

The property itself was clean and comfortable with spectacular views over the surrounding mountains. Inside was small but adequate the conservatory, a nice addition, was a great place to dry off towels and wet weather gear. The wifi was ok a little slow at times but adequate for us. Paul welcomed us and was on hand if we needed anything without being intrusive. We came for the walking and that did not disappoint. Cwm Pennant is relatively quiet and the walks are not that well defined, fine if you are experienced but not for the faint hearted. Moel yr Ogof and Moel Hebog are easily attainable from the cottage but are quiet strenuous if you want to do a round route. There is a smashing river pool on the way up the valley great for a quick invigorating swim! The seaside is also within easy reach on a hot day. As usual the weather was mixed we had a couple of wet days but also some lovely hot days. Great place, great location would definitely recommend and stay again.

If you want peace and quietness this is the place for you. There are walks direct from the property to discover. The property itself well equipped throughout. Loved the shower. Wood burner added bonus on cold nights, although the modern wall heaters were more than adequate. Luckily for me I picked the warmest March week on record.

The accommodation exceeded our expectations in many ways. The kitchen was fully equipped with anything you may need to cater for all your culinary needs while away. The beds were extremely comfortable and there were also books, DVDs and games. The dogs loved the garden, especially the field behind the cottage where they could run around after the ball, off the lead. The cottage is in a remote location and was extremely peaceful and tranquil. I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to get away from it all and relax.

  • "The cottage is lovely, it has everything you could need for a perfect break away, tucked away in the valley it gives you a great opportunity to explore on foot without having to hop in the car to find beautiful spots to enjoy your break, including within the property a good shady area at the back under the tree and the field behind which is great for letting your dog stretch it's legs."

A couple of things bookers might find helpful: - owing to the direction of the conservatory if the sun's out it gets HOT, and heats up the whole cottage, take a fan, you'll need it. - whilst there is a private patio area, the gardens are communal with no boundaries, if you are taking a dog with you a ground stake comes in handy so they stay in your area, don't disturb other families and also so they can't escape or get into trouble when the gates open and cars come into park. - of the 3 cottages Melin Newydd is the only one which is adults only the other 2 allow children, so not necessarily a peaceful escape if that's what you're looking for.
