  • "Second year at this property."

Comfortable and clean. Welcoming host Ian, and Bara brith was a welcome addition. Ian was always on hand but not intrusive and had some good chats. Great location, in Bangor in a couple of minutes from property, but in a quiet village if you want the peace. Great base for visiting Anglesey and beyond. Three minutes from Menai bridge.

  • "Customer review text: Unfortunately the premises seemed to be in a state of rebuilding due to work etc not being completed in the shower area and also bare heating pipes around the kitchen and lounge walls."

Also the doors seemed to require repainting as knots in the wood were bleeding through the thin paintwork. A few suggestions come to mind also to help future occupiers would start with a list of where things are placed, when do the waste bins get collected and other such basic items. Also why not provide a few comforts like some washing up liquid, kitchen towel, a few tea bags etc, etc as having to go straight out after arriving to do a second lot of shopping is not a very good promotional advert for the place. Leaving a large cake also didn't help as we are both diabetic and it was wasted unfortunately. I won't go any further as I think I have said enough

Well, I'm shocked at the feedback you have given. On your arrival i did apologise for the work that's being carried out and explained I only have little windows between guests when I can do this work or I would need to shut down , which I cannot afford to do. As for where things are placed I'm not sure what you mean I explain everything to each guest on arrival the bins are self explanatory clearly labelled , I'm on site 24/7 so one has only to ask and I will help. I would like to point out that it is self catering but I do usually provide a tray with tea coffee milk in but obviously the cleaner forgot to leave. I provide cake, " Bara brith " I bake bara brith every Friday for my guests that's a lot of bara brith in 8 years i do ask guests if they have any allergies or intolerances, I even bake gluten free for returning guests that I know , but to say leaving a big cake didn't help. • "We were made very welcome by the landlord Mr Jones and the Bara Brith was really lovely!"

It's a great location for so many things and places:- The Spinneys nature reserve up on the Coast near Aberogwen( about 5 - 10 mins by car) was a hidden gem. Small hides, but great place to walk on the beach and see incoming wildlife. If you want to see red squirrels go to the Dingle nature reserve in Llangefni Anglesey. Lovely 30 minute walk up to the reservoir there too. It's only about 3/4 hour to Portmeirion, and worth a visit. Farm shop in next village is good for local cheese, eggs, milk and fresh salad stuff, and sells great ground coffee! It also has a small coffee shop selling cakes and home made pies and pasties. Cottage was very comfy and clean. Only thing I would say is to make sure to bring some washing up liquid and whatever you clean dishes with, as these arn't provided. Plates are microwaveable, but might be useful to have a small micro -waveable bowl to heat food up. Otherwise cottage has all the basics you'll need. Very peaceful place to stay.

  • "Pleasantly welcomed with a homemade bara brith but unfortunately we found the property depressing."

The outlook from the lounge was of hanging baskets and tubs with dead plants, foot high weeds and wheelie bins. Inside was not much better with long runs of unpainted pipework. The shower room was dark, damp and cool with rusty fittings. It would take only a little money and effort to make this place less neglected. On the plus side it was clean and well equipped. Not your usual standard Sykes.

Sorry i do apologise for the neglected gardening ill take that on board as for the pipe work we have only just had central heating fitted as it was storage heaters , we can only paint and upgrade during the Christmas period coming as its a difficult task to decorate in the 5 hour gap between check ins , same goes for the wet room thats being upgraded christmas too , the wheelie bins where kept round the back but we have just had an infestation of wasps so had to relocate them , i do hope you enjoyed your stay apart from the obvious above ! regards ian Property Owner

Property had everything we needed, comfortable, even the bed! Location was perfect. Very quite wee village but, great for local walks to Bangor or Bethesda. About 3 miles each direction along the old railway. Watch out for the colony of Small Egrets on the left just before the end of the Bangor walk. Couple of minutes from the A55 so easy access to Tesco 5 minutes along the road. Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, Bangor, Holyhead on Anglesey all worth a visit. Conwy busy but great wee tourist town. Visit to Caernarfon Castle is a must. Spent about 3 hours there. All within about 30m minutes from the accommodation by car. We had a really good holiday.

  • "Cottage ok but could do with re-decorating in living room."

Main problem was the bathroom, which I can only describe as " in need of a good clean ". The wet room floor does not drain properly and stays constantly wet, causing it to be Black with mould. I spent an hour cleaning the shower area before we could use it. The ceiling is also mouldy. Also, why is there a rusty old wheelchair left in the bathroom? The owner also has some chickens which constantly try to follow you into the cottage and won't go away from the door. Hence, the doorstep is always covered in chicken muck. I would not use this cottage again.
