  • "Lovely place."

Enjoyed our stay. No toilet roll on arrival. Pint of milk in fridge would be good.

My apologies. I have had words with the cleaning company about the above, and these should have been provided as a matter of course. Apparently they had a new inexperienced person dealing with the property, but that has now been changed. I am glad you enjoyed your stay nevertheless. Property Owner

  • "Nearly one week without heating and hot water!"

No warm shower - but it was rainy and cold outside. No reaction by the owner.

I am so sorry about this, and dealt with it as soon as I was aware of the problem. Compensation has been given, and the problem with the boiler sorted. My apologies again to the guests. Property Owner

  • "The Chapel is an amazing building with several lovely features."

A functional space with enough equipment, instruction booklet, guides and tourist information easy to find on arrival. Wifi access straight forward. Bedding was clean and the views from upper windows was great. Water pressure is excellent, especially if you enjoy a shower as a wake up call! More information in relation to how to find the lock box would be useful, although the neighbour was very helpful (and it provides him with amusement watching people struggle to find it!). Some niggles: only 2 small sheets of toilet paper left in the whole property - luckily the Spar shop is just down the street and was open when we arrived, debris between sofa cushions, cobwebs and low level dust, sticky counter top in the kitchen, strong smell of fuel in foyer and outside front door, many cellar spiders and a visiting slug in the basement bathroom, damp patches, peeling paint and plaster - a nice property which could do with some TLC and attention to make it a GREAT property. They were small individual niggles which didn't ruin our break, although I do not believe that the high price of the booking is represented in the quality of the property. The style and layout of the property was well adapted. Suitable for us to use as a base for our sightseeing during our time in North Wales. The Glyn Valley Hotel was lovely and a dog friendly venue (also with a menu for dogs), with a good selection of both food and drinks for humans.

I am glad that you managed to explore the lovely surroundings during your stay. I am so sorry about the poor level of cleanliness and lack of toilet paper, both of which are inexcusable. Apparently the cleaning company had a new inexperienced person who has now been changed, so these problems should not occur again. Directions to the key safe should be in the details on the Sykes site, but I will check this. The painting of the couple of patches mentioned has been done, but I will get there to check this too. Thank you for alerting me to these issues. Property Owner

  • "The property was lovely."

My only negative would be to have curtains or blinds at the bedroom windows, as light was shining in at dawn, also upstairs for privacy as could see as you was walking up.

Thank you for your comments. The reason I don't have blinds upstairs is that is not overlooked by any buildings. I will consider it for the future though, if there is an issue about light in the morning. Property Owner

  • "Absolutely lovely accommodation."

Everything you need is provided. Location was ideal for visiting the many beautiful days out nearby. Could do with some blinds/ curtains upstairs. Had a wonderful holiday.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. I am thinking about putting up blinds upstairs. Property Owner

Beauty spots to discover in the area include the National Trust property of Chirk Castle and the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, offering breath-taking, rural views, whilst visitors can also enjoy a horse-drawn barge trip along the canal (in season), aboard the steam train for trips up the valley in Corwen, or don your walking boots for a hike up Dinas Bran/ Crow Castle.
