Beautifully situated, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Sue went out of her way to make us feel welcome and there were several thoughtful touches such as a bottle of wine, Welsh cakes and treats for our dog. The cottage is well-equipped and well-maintained and our dog very much appreciated the secure 5 acre paddock. We loved it!

Great location for the activities we had booked but also lots of amazing walks with the kids during the times when we didn’t have anything booked. Sue and Gary were great, very helpful and friendly and everything was seamless. The cabin was spotless very clean and we had everything we needed. New shower and everything is the kitchen very clean and I am normally fussy. The cabin is perfect for what we needed it for. Thanks to Sue and Garry, both of whom have great local knowledge, all of our needs were fully met including a welcome gift of local cakes, wine, tea, coffee, sugar, milk - even treats for our dog. Very clean cabin, all appliances fully working- availability of washer, tumble dryer, even dog drying towels! We chose to cook more at the cabin rather than dine out elsewhere as we couldn't tear ourselves away from the stunning view of Snowdon from our dining room table! Our dog Honey fell in love with Guto -Sue & Garry's dog and enjoyed the freedom of running about the adjoining field - we couldn't get her in the car when it was time to leave! An idyllic destination- for a week which went by too quickly. We cannot recommend this cabin and the owners hospitality enough. Thank you

Truly lovely and relaxed holiday, although we were unlucky with the weather at times. Enough room and amenities in the cabin for me and the missus and our dog. Excellent wi-fi connection, so we could search for areas to visit. Sue & Gary are very friendly and accommodating, non-intrusive and we had no issues but if we did need them they were there all the time. There are tons of places to visit and the view from the cabin is second-to-none, facing Mount Snowden. Not many places in the area can boast this advantageous spot ! The cabin is 2 minutes the other side of the main Forest Holidays site with a shop and takeaway (great fish 'n chips). It's lovely to just walk around this park with a nice stream and walking grounds/woods. 2 miles away is the quaint village of Beddgelert and if you get chance to visit over a Sunday, drop into the Golden Fleece pub/restaurant in Tremadog and sample their excellent Sunday Roast. Beyond this Porthmadog is a nice harbour town and a few miles more is Port Meirion (although it does not allow dogs). We also dropped by the Black Rock Sands, where there is a huge beach at which you can park your car on (cost at the time was £8 all day and you can leave and return as many times as you want). Instead of driving we caught the bus into Caernarfon (about half hour ride) and what a lovely small town it is, with the Castle the main attraction and some lovely pubs ! All in all a lovely time (aside the weather) and we will have to return again !

  • "This is a lovely cabin for adults who love walking."

I would say that in our opinion it isn’t really suitable for toddlers, because of hazards outside such as steep steps down to the garden area, which should really be made clear on the listing. The facilities have a lower score for a couple of reasons; I requested a cot and high chair for our 2 year old, which initially weren’t there but as the owners are next door they quickly provided these. Unfortunately the cot did not have a mattress, so our daughter slept on a folded duvet, which wasn’t ideal, so she ended up in a twin bed. The owners were extremely apologetic and have ordered a mattress for future use. Secondly, the shower was problematic, it ran cold for a few days, then we managed to get a warm but very very weak shower. Again, the owners have taken this on board and are looking into an electric shower. The location is perfect, with gorgeous views, fabulous walks and convenient for some lovely days out. The beds are very comfortable and the owners very friendly and helpful. The cabin itself is private and peaceful. There is a field next to the cabin where dogs can run which is handy. Everything was clean and spotless on arrival. The little goodies such as Welsh cakes and wine were a nice touch. If it hadn’t been for the shower and lack of mattress I would score 5/5.

Cabin is about a twenty minute drive from Porthmadog, where there is a largeTesco, and the town is delightful (lots of charity shops too, which suited mum!!). Having owners living nearby is always handy for any problems - for us, it was with one of our cars - they very kindly lent my dad the tools to fix it, and pointed us in the direction of a car parts supplier, instead of having to take to a garage!! Owners have a dedicated staff, trained up for covid situation, who do the 'changeover', and hand sanitizer is supplied if you haven't brought your own. They gave instructions of what we needed to do on leaving - putting bedding and linen in bags etc. and distanced when we saw them while we were there. Hopefully if we can go again in future, when all this us over, we can shake their hands and thank them for a wonderful, stress free, relaxed holiday. Peter Brown.

  • "We had an amazing time; the views from the cabin were spectacular and the facilities and comfort of the cabin were ideal for our stay."

Sue and Gary were more than welcoming and informative - top tips being the local lake for swimming and a super meal at The Black Boy pub in Caernarvon! It was an ideal base for our daily adventures and super forest tracks for trail running too. Definitely recommend a stay here.

  • "We had an incredible time at the cabin."

The views and scenery were exceptional and the facilities clean and well equipped. It was exactly what we were looking for. There are some wonderful walks from the doorstep (including one up to a beautiful secluded lake which is absolutely worth a trip). On top of that, Sue and Gary were fantastic, and could not have been more accommodating. They struck a great balance between leaving us to our own devices to enjoy what the cabin and area had to offer, whilst also being on hand to offer great local advice and to ensure we were happy. We will definitely be back!

.. As a smoker the outside seating area was a bonus. When it states it has its own water supply it should have stated the water could be bottled and sold in bottles - a mountain spring is the source, then harvested, bespoke multistage filtered and ultra-violet treated providing pure water at the tap. The management (Sue and Gary) and their team either provides as much space or interaction as desired demonstrating oodles of hospitality. Skinny dipping if you forget to pack your bathing costume/swimming trunks in a mountain lake no further than half hour away after a days walking or first thing in the morning to start your day with a sparkle. Local eatery's - we would suggest look for the one with the most customers as a measure of its fare. We sat beside a stream (that was probably a river after the rains) with our Jack Russell and ate our fill - the portions looked enormous, but after a day's walking the contents of the plate seemed to diminish with time (and the help of JR!). If you're in to tourist stuff, then join the hoards who head for Snowdon, but Sue and Gary can point you in the direction of less travelled paths - was I staying for a week I'd plan BBQ's for the weekend and remain on-site away from the hoards afore-mentioned, but make the most of the weekdays. Collect shopping, drinks and refrigerated foodstuffs on the way in - Caenarfon has all the big supermarkets or use Portmadoc is nearer after arrival. I hope this helps those planning an escape from the stresses and strains of daily life - much better than a doctor's prescription pills :)

  • "Helpful webchat when enquiring about booking and offer to hold the cottage while we decided what to do was much appreciated."

The cabin is very comfortable and the views are amazing. The location of the cabin is very peaceful and uncrowded yet it's not too far from Beddgelert. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly. They advised us about local area and were available if we needed anything. The welcome pack was much appreciated and included some lovely freshly baked bread which we really enjoyed. It was our first holiday away with our dog and the accommodation and surroundings worked well for him and he was made just as welcome as the rest of us! We had a lovely stay and very much hope to return soon.

The views are stunning, the local area is wonderful, peace and quiet was just what we were looking for and what we got. Sue met us on our arrival with fresh bread, jam, and welsh scones, cabin was spotless and Sue was very engaging, recommended a few places visit which did not disappoint. I would recommend both this property, the owners, and the website, all were fantastic, sorted out the original booking issue smoothly and would certainly use them again.
